Alright. I've been surfing around the web looking for Pokemon Fun Facts whilst also looking for Pokemon with a good Defense Base stat when I cam across several articles which ultimately leaded to a Kotaku article.
Since Pokemon X/Y is based of Science this time, what if the legendary pokemon (Xerneas and Yveltal) are based of the Ectoderm and the Mesoderm respectively? The ectoderm are the neurons, while the mesoderm are the blood and tissues. This could explain why Xerneas has weird "Antlers" (Neurons being branching, while Xerneas' horns are also branching) and Yveltal being red and black and seemingly having a pulsing red light as shown from the trailer? (blood and muscle being mainly red.) Since most animals are made up of 3 germ layers, there could be a third legendary which can represent the Endoderm. I haven't reached this term of education yet but the endoderm is connected to the ectoderma and mesoderm as said by Wikipedia.
I browsed a little more and saw another theory which is that there are three legendaries but these represent the X, Y, and Z planes of Norse Mythology. Which can be Midgard, Asgard and Niflheim respectively. Asgard houses Hresvelgr (Don't really know if that's the real name) or a Divine Eagle who has the power to see the souls of the dead. That eagle can be Yveltal since animals and people who go to Midgard have their eyes turned to blue and Yveltal has blue eyes. Midgard houses the four stags Dáinn, Dvalinn, Duneyrr and Duraþrór. Xerneas resembles a stag and his horns branch four ways, representing the four stags that are colored red, blue, yellow, and purple which Xerneas' horns have. Niflheim houses the serpent Nidhoggr that nibbles at Yggdrasil's roots. Nidhoggr lives in Niflheim which is basically hell. So we might have a third legendary and this trio might represent Heaven, Earth and Hell.
Anyone think this is true?
I think it's cool.
