Tourney is currently full, barring cancellations.
You may register for a reserves list, and if you would be able to make it on short notice, (like, if I called you at 12:15 to get there by 1), then you may register for that as well (give me a contact number, preferably mobile, and a name). You'll be given major consideration for the second tourney, and if there are a lot of you, I'll host a second tourney in the near future, the soonest it works for everyone. I apologise for not warning you sooner.
If there are another 12 people though, I'll look into doing blocks, but I sincerely doubt that (and it would be hard to manage)

The reason for the limit is out of interest for attendees. We want you to have the maximum number of battles possible for the first tourney, for everyone's sake. The only format that will give us this is normal Round Robin, which is capped at 12 participants (as otherwise, it is too much work for the committee). Please be understanding, that I'm doing this for the good of our tournament scene, and will work to make up for anyone who misses out Smile

What: An Official Tourney, for Perth Bladers!

When: Sunday, 3rd of July (2011). 12 Noon. Tourney Starts at 1PM, Free Play for the Hour Before. Make sure you arrive at 12, please. Cute
Any later than 12:15, and your position is forfeit. If it's 12 and you're not there yet, text me. Full details are here. My number will be provided in the reminder PM.

Where: Kings Park, Variety Pavillion, or surrounding area.
Here's A Map of Kings Park's Venues It's #33, off Saw Avenue.

ENTRY FEE: 5USD (~$4.70 AU). Free for passport holders. Passports will be $10 USD. (They’re not actual physical objects but you can register for one at the event, and you'll receive a Passport Face once the WBO issues it to you). This is all WBO rules.

Prizes: First Prize: $25 Worth of Beyblade Stuff (Prize-Winners Choice)
Second Prize: $15 Worth of Beyblade Stuff (Prize-Winners Choice).
Notes on Prizes (Click to View)
Whatever the WBO’s funding doesn’t cover prizewise, I’ll cover myself.

Rules: Standard WBO Rules. Here. READ THEM. Plus the 3.6 Update: READ IT TOO!

An extra thing, though it isn't a rule, I'd prefer if, out of respect to stadium owners and the tourney holder (me), people refrained from using MS/M145 unless absolutely necessary. It's not against the rules, but in my opinion there is a risk of damage to stadiums due to improper use, and if there is any ill feeling after the event, I won't be inclined to host again.
I'd rather people didn't use the Rev-Up launcher, as it's not totally fair IMO, but that's a personal opinion, and I'm not going/able to stop you. It'll be cool if we kept it to beylaunchers, though, at least for our first tournament Smile

Format: Round Robin. All players battle each other once, and then the three players with the most wins play round robin against each other, number of wins decides placing. Tie Breakers, again, where necessary. This limits us to 12 places, however.

Please read the the Official Event Guide if you're interested in how things will be/should be run.

[b]Only say you can "definitely attend" if you are 100% sure you can make it (check with parents/guardians before posting, PLEASE)
If we end up with only 7 people there on the day because you don't attend, I will hunt you down and launch horrible combo's at you until you are mortally wounded/I get bored. (Storm Cancer 145S: Expect It, All Over Your Face)

I’d love it if everyone could make it (and let’s be honest, we’re in Perth, it’s not like there’s anything else to do), but that probably won't happen. However, if it goes well, I'll look at hosting another, and work it out schedule-wise with the people who couldn't make it to this one. Because I'm a pretty cool guy like that.

So yeah, let's do this thang.

thats alot of information for just one tournament, you should shorten it or at least add spoilers otherwise people will not come just because theres to much to read.
I might be in, just need to check whether I can go (I know you said not to post if you are unsure but I thought hell with that) but I am so there if I am able to come.
As for the amount of members there I am sure people can bring hasbro stadiums and other things for people to entertain themselves while they aren't battling.
Ok. I can make 3rd of July if SDamon can take me so I'll ask him now.

You must've got in before I simplified it, I realised I'd written an essay. Condensed ver. Up now, and long one removed (the bad jokes weren't worth it )

Hard to do unless you're using a lame browser Tongue_out

But yeah, it's okay to say "I'll check to see if I can make it, but I want to come" or the like, just don't say "I can definitely come on *insert date*" or answer the poll til you're 100% totally sure.
We need at least 8 people (including me) to say they can definitely come to make it official, so yeah, get onto it.

Any questions, I probably have answers.

IDK what happens with prizes (I searched, could not find), worst case, it'll be a small amount of money, but TBH we aren't here for the prizes are we? Tongue_out

Also: Note added: MS is as banned as I can make it. If you want to use M145, you'll have to clear it with the stadium owner beforehand (which will likely involve an explanation of the combo and tip etc), because they're not cheap, and there's a risk of damage. I don't want to have to call the tourney off and buy a replacement because someone wants to use a niche combo.
No complaints or accusations of cheating, it's not your property, so don't damage it.

Theft/stealing/other stupid stuff, if it happens (it has at other tourneys), it will be taken very seriously, and may jeopardise any possible future events or whatever. It's only a small event, so someone will probably spot you.
th!nk, I hope you can do this! Congrats man, getting it together! And you're determined, you'll make a really good judge from what I can tell.
Thanks man. Yeah, I think I'm trusted enough. I've been practising my Japanese accent for "3 2 1 GO SHOOOOT" and everything Tongue_out
My only real concern is getting enough people, and having them attend, tbh, everything after that is pretty minor.

Everyone please note that from tomorrow til Tuesday, I'm going into deep training/meditation to enhance my BEY-SPIRIT (read: going on holiday) to a place where there's not even mobile reception for internets. So yeah, I'll not be able to get back to you on questions til Tuesday afternoon (unless something miraculous occurs), but don't panic, when I do, I'll make everything better Tongue_out
I might have reception, though, apparently optus has recently installed some stuff there, so I might be on Tongue_out

EDIT: As both Own-Ray and RowDog cannot make the 10th, this is gonna be on the 3rd, if no one else can make it then, then we'll look at alternatives.
I can come to the tournament definitely on the 3rd of July but I might be able to come on the 10th if there is not enough people on the 3rd
Is cool, it'll be the 3rd seeing as both you and Own-Ray apparently have difficulties with the 10th.

-rbn- can't make either, which kinda sucks. If the 3rd ends up too difficult, we'll look at other dates, but yeah.

On the upside, if it goes well, we'll do another some time.

Note Added to OP: Don't worry about the poll, it's now irrelevant.

Also, if you plan to buy a blader passport ($10USD, ~$9.40AU) at the event, if it's made official, then it'd be super cool if you told me beforehand or bought exact change (I'll PM everyone the day before the tourney with reminders, and prices, and such, so I'll include the final price in AUD then).

ALSO: Remember when I said I'd be away? Looks like I might be able to get reception, as optus have set up a station out there Grin Grin Grin

Hehe! Um, why don't you actually invite blader DJ for that matter?Tongue_out
I mean, just record his voice on your cell phone, and just play it before every battle! Tongue_out
(Make use of everything you have! Why should your cell phone just rest in your pocket? Make use of technology! The cell phone company will feel happy. Tongue_out)
Well, Best of Luck dude! I hope you get the remaining members.... Hope you have a great tourney!
Heh, I'll be saving my battery for browsing the WBO/Recording Video mebbe.
Plus, why should Blader DJ get all the fun. Sure, he's got the greatest BEY-SPIRIT OF ALL!
But I am hosting Tongue_out

Yeah, we're only at 3 so far, but I'm expecting more people from the local team(s?) to sign up soon. Honestly, it's only 8 people including myself that's required, so it's certainly do-able if most of Team Omega Nova can make it. Hopefully it'll be mentioned at their meet-up or whatever (because I haven't spammed their threads enough, lol Tongue_out)

Speaking of which, are there any other teams in Perth? I should probably let them know too, because yeah.

Anyway, I'll probably be working on the official application stuff when I'm on holidays. When I'm back on Tuesday, I'm hoping within a day or two more people will confirm attendance and I can apply (I want to do that ASAP).
i'm in!
Turns out I can't get reception where I'm staying, so yeah, I'll be back tomorrow afternoon.

Anyway, we're at 6 People now, so we still need two more. I'm hoping we'll have enough once everyone logs on after the meetup today.
Still, from here I might even be able to make up the extra with a friend or two, so as long as everyone is 100% sure they can make it, this is happening for sure Grin
Can My friend come he doesn't have a computer/laptop so he can't go on the wbo
well if the tourney is going to be offical he cannot enter unless he has an account , but you can just make one for him Wink
2 queries, 1, are you allowed to bring fake parts? OR 4D OR EXPLOSION BEYS?
Well obviously not fake parts but '4D OR EXPLOSION BEYS' are fine Wink
are you coming?
Will you have blader passports to sell?
There will be blader passports as long as it's official
Own-Ray, as RustyXD said, he'll need to get an account. I'd prefer if he could sign up beforehand (just make him an account on your computer and PM me to say he'll be coming when you're sure he will), but worst case I can get details and make one after the tourney.

@CheesyguyBB, I'm not sure where as yet, I'll be sorting it out on Wednesday, methinks. If it's available, probably the variety pavilion.
And in response to your PM, you can use customised beys, as in all WBO tourneys, but no illegal customisations (check da rules). Fake parts aren't allowed, I'll probably have to inspect beys for those.

Only limits on customisation, if the WBO committee will allow it, will be a ban on MS (as it can damage stadiums) and needing to clear any M145 combo's with me and Own-Ray before using them in either of our stadiums, so unless you have a good reason, I wouldn't bother. The main thing would be not using Basalt or MS/MF with M145, basically.

Also, RowDog has confirmed his attendance, yes.

All released official beyblades are legal. So yes, 4D/MFB Explosion/Maximum Series/ETC ETC will be legal, as in standard rules.

RowDog: They're not a physical thing, but if it's an official tourney (hopefully) and you want a blader passport, it's $10USD (instead of the 5USD entry fee for a single tourney), and then I send that money to the WBO and they issue the passports etc etc.
It's an economical choice, as if we hold a second tourney within 12 Months (if it goes well, I probably will), it's the same as paying for both. If we hold 3, you save money.

One more thing. If you're gonna use a Rev-Up Launcher and it hasn't been banned by the WBO before the tourney (I'm pushing for it, as I believe it is extremely unfair on attack types, etc etc), it'll be frowned upon, and I'd consider it "cheap". Hopefully, I'll be allowed to ban it, as I want this to be fair, but yeah, if it isn't banned, I'd love it if no one used one.

Also: it's worth noting, that as I'm the tourney-holder, if I place, whatever prize I get goes to the next person, for fairness and because, frankly, I think I'm the one person who really doesn't need it Tongue_out

And I'm still not 100% sure who pays for prizes, but if it's me, it'll probably be a bey (starter/booster, nothing pricey) and MF-2 or MF set for the winner, and just a bey for the runner up. I can probably either do money, or buy them online (i.e. get TT stuff etc) and have them sent to you or whatever. If the WBO prize is any less than that, I'll cover the rest or whatever. I need to try to find that out. But yeah. We're only a small tourney, so prizes won't be much.
will you guys be selling any takara tomy beys there, and what bey will you be using
(Jun. 06, 2011  12:23 PM)BigBangBladerX1 Wrote: will you guys be selling any takara tomy beys there, and what bey will you be using

Nobody will tell you what they will use if they are smart Bladers ... Think about it.
I doubt there'll be sales, given many people can't even get TT blades themselves.
Frankly, a few of us could be using almost anything, myself included. Kai-v is correct, though, no one is going ti reveal what they'll use.
