Incompetent members, what should we do?

I know right...
If he makes another one i reckon he should get a 20% warning...
again... ooops!

Funny. You yourself got a warning for those bad responses. Stop being such a hypocrite and think before you post. You told him to close the thread and reported it; that was productive. You messed up when you complained about the mods taking too long ... twice. They've got stuff to do too.
so he messed up... relax...
That's not the point. He's saying that he hates bad posts but he himself makes them. In fact, when I PMed him he responded to me as if it was my fault he got a warning.

I don't want to sound like a total carp here, but these forums are a professional sanctioning body. To stay professional at its maximum, we must minimize the "messing ups" and in doing so, everything runs more smoothly, and everyone can post without having to worry about the guy who says he can beat anyone with Torch Libra 145S.

That's what THIS thread is for.
you're spamming right now... you could've just PMed me what you said above
i was talking about hero
Hero is spamming?
You have no clue what in bloody hell you're speaking about.
Go read the rules.
Just on what i think we should do about incompetent members , i think the warning system is fine how it is. I mean if you make a thread like Help i need a combo then you should get a warning of 10% or whatever , and in many cases i have seen people do it again even though people have explained the problem ; I think if this happens they should revive a 1 hour ban and a screen should come up or something showing the rules , so then most people will have nothing better to do then actually reading them so that will solve the problem-ish.

But i seriously don't get how people can miss something like " Build Me a Combo" , it is starting to annoy me why can't people use common sense and keep there warning level to zero , like me. And seriously Monley D. Luffy what Hero said was not SPAM , and bunnii2165 stop being a Hypocrite have seen you SPAM the boards alot...
Indeed, HOW can they miss it? It's almost always on the front page of new/today's posts! It's RIGHT IN THEIR FACES, but yet they choose to ignore it and herp the derp.
Yes, iMad.
Well, I didn't see this coming...
btw, incompetent members are quite a problem.. But yes, we can't just kick them outta here... We must respect them as much as possible. They are actually here to learn more... I can be 100% sure that most members of this site had very less knowledge about beys, and suddenly turned out to be extremely helpful people.
All in all, the problem is not of 'incompetent' members, its a problem of extremely 'stubborn' and 'over-confident' members. People post their own combos and suggestions, which seem to be great for them. You see, this 'Point of View' thingy turns out to be annoying here... We must remember, most of the members here, have beys and their knowledge about beyblade is HIGHLY influenced by the anime, and the combo suggestions and stats behind TT boxes... So, we must try to help them. Yes, its the WORST thing to do if you post BAD suggestions/combos/etc, and are not ready to agree to the fact that the combo is bad. This is the time when there are a few derogatory remarks passed that result in a conflict..
What can be done-
Just be patient with such people. If they actually had no idea of what they had done was wrong, then we MUST help them. This should be done when they had made the mistake for the very first time. This is because we have to cure this from its roots. PMing would be a brilliant mode of communication here. You may provide the links of all the important threads, and request them to improve their posts. If the people are extremely stubborn, then we must leave them for the admins and mods Tongue_out
There are a few people(especially th!nk), because of whom these posts have become quite rare. If we might just correct them, and request for better posts, we might be successful! Who knows, he might turn out to be an amazing member!
Do I count as a incompetent member?Just curious...
Not really, from what I've seen, there are far worse people here than you (including some people in this thread already), but this isn't the place to ask. Tongue_out
And guys, do keep in mind, that as cynical as I am, I've seen a number of people who used to make me rage turn into awesome, helpful members. They know who they are, because I generally mention it to them, because it makes me happy.

Do remember, as much as we should be "dealing with" incompetent members, when they're competent, it's always nice to give them a little "pat on the back" for a job well done Smile

Geeze, can you tell I'm in a good mood?
This is stupid. Plain stupid. Another stupid post from a newb. There should be a rule enforcement on this kind of thing.

Seriously. Byxis on a stamina combo. Am I blind or what?
OMG DSI lolololol
In my opinion, I personally spite incompetent users.
Firstly, it makes them look dumb and have no sense of English.
Secondly, it wastes time, trying to read and decode their bad post.

I think we should give them a 5% warning.

Was this kinda directed towards me? Because yes, it was you(when you were MeteorKing) who 'bombarded' me one day, and then I changed completely! Grin Well, there are many who might wanna thank you for that... Joyful_2
Do I count as incompetent too? and is this spam if I ask...because if I am incompetent then I have no right tyo post my views on this thread isn't it?

EDIT: Since I am not counted as extreme incompetent then I must say that we must try to use PMs in order to make these incompetent members(sometimes including me too) realize their mistakes and then improve...I have done the same with beyboost and I think he doesnt spam as much as before..basically I feel that FB is the main culprit for grammar errors and for people who are new here dont exactly know what is spam(like me) so it is best to tell them about it through PMs
Janstarblast Yeah, you're one of those people who improved drastically Smile Makes me happy every time I see you making good posts Smile

Sam: You're generally quite helpful. You make mistakes every so often, but generally you do quite well. If you've got something constructive to add, add it Tongue_out

I've just posted over at "Make your suggestions", but it's kinda related to this, I think we need to draw a clearer line for where certain questions should be asked, as I'm seeing people being bounced around between the three main question threads... It can't be helping this issue.

No? Who said you are incompetent? You are actually a 'careful' poster, you know...
You do contribute, and at least don't break the rules and all... Smile
Well actually, IMO, the title of this thread is not correct... :\
You see, there is a difference between 'incompetent' members and 'irritating/rule breaking' members..... Smile

EDIT:
@th!nk- Hehe! Well, thanks! Btw, you actually made things easier for yourself by adding that new feature to your signature. Smile Every time you see someone break the rules, you might jsut say-

READ MY SIGNATURE's LAST PART
Meh, the name is just semantics or whatever.

Yeah, it helps. Though, I've given up on Build Me A Combo and Ask A Question Get An Answer for the time being Confused Which is why it's nice to have you guys around Tongue_out

I guess we should get back on topic and stop our little love-in Tongue_out

You're right. Facebook is Facebook, and WBO is WBO. They ought to be taught on stuff like that.

Is there like, a deadline for the video I'm creating? Cause I really don't have the time to do it. That is, until the weekend.

Am I considered incompetent or what? Cause there was once I created a thread just to get a maths question answered. Everything went downhill from there.
You've made some bad posts in your time. You're improving/have improved. You put effort into your posts. That is the main thing.

We really should stop asking who is and isn't incompetent. Judge yourself by what's been said in the thread and related links. This is really not the place for us to discuss this.

I doubt there's a deadline, you're doing of your own volition, so it's not like anyone "needs" it by a certain date.
Once, a new person came here and PMede me sayintg if he had a bey he would beat me! Then I looked at his first two post. They were bright SPAM threads like "What 2 beys should I Buy" and the letters had capitals inbetween them! So since I saw this thread I was like "Send him a PM telling how to be better on the WBO!"
Was that a good thing to do? Here's the Quote:
It's always good to try and teach these people, and it may actually be our best option. So yeah, is fine.
I have 2 ideas which are:

1- Spam threads are not to be replied to, AKA don't feed the troll. This is a rule on Newgrounds and I find it works great to let carp threads die. If it is just a misplaced thread posting a link to the correct place to post it is just fine I am talking about the obvious SPAM.

2- Effort twards spelling and grammar are to be incouraged and illegeible posts need to be removed and people should get penailized. Its not a big deal to mispell something but if you are TYPING LIK DIS or cannot use punctuation to save your life then you need a warning. Posts that cannot be read are spam.

Furthermore, your first sentence in your second point is really not a good example ...
Hah, that's the thread that sets it out.
The problem is, as usual, no one bothers to read anything.
