If hs released frames it would just look kind of weird giving the beys frames because you can’t just give any frame. As for sp and spm some drivers have sp and some have spm to mix it up a little bit. Overall hasbro is inconsistent, but it’s not as inconsistent as you think it is.
Avoiding power creep is a generally bad excuse. What's the point to getting newer beys if they're worse than what you already have? Like, it's one thing for collection's sake, but I honestly can't think of a single Speedstorm system layer that's at all close to competitive in Limited.
It's even worse to apply that excuse to stripping out parts like Galaxy Zeutron and Spiral Treptune that had their gimmicks stripped out only to be rereleased with them a short time later through Asteroid Zeutron and Tide Treptune. It's not like either Asteroid Zeutron or Tide Treptune's gimmicks were ever so powerful that they needed a nerf to begin with, there's far better layers from Evolution already there. No, the gimmicks they're stripping out are clearly not for the sake of power creep. Same thing with leaving disk frames off of combos that had them (e.g. Reach, Dagger, Proof). None of them are overpowered or incompatible with other things somehow, it's just pure cheaping out.
Hypersphere could have done frames fine. They don't interfere with the gimmick short of the absolute largest frames, and even those really don't hinder it by much. If it was all because it "looks weird", well, they shouldn't have made Hypersphere look so dumb then shouldn't they? They're in control of the looks just as much as they are their choices to drop frames off of a cliff.
Why is mixing things up between heavier and lighter Speedstorm drivers a good thing? Isn't -SPM just generally better than -SP all around the block? Like, I thought Nothingness-SP might have dropped the metal to better calibrate the spring which might have explained that there, but by cutting the spring out there's really no reason for it or the absence of a 2A-D disk either. I don't see how this is a good thing to mix them up like this.
No, I don't agree at all. They're ridiculously inconsistent except in the place where it counts: giving us more bang for our buck.
