HIGH PARK THROWDOWN
High Park (map) - Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Sunday, July 19th, 2009 - 1PM
(originally slated for Saturday, July 18th)
MFB FORMAT

Calling all Toronto area Bladers! Come join Khel, Blue, and I as we host the first Beyblade tournament in Toronto in years (outside of Anime North haha)! Keep checking back here for more details as they become available!

We're hoping that we can create some sort of Toronto Beyclub, with HPT being the first event. Assuming we have enough attendees, this will be an official WBO tournament, so make sure to get your Blader Passport if you haven't done so already! And of course, we'll do some ranked and free battles in between everything. Oh, and there will be some prizes!

If you're interested, please let us know here so we can start building an attendance list. Hope to see you there!

On the day of the tournament, all of us will be meeting at the Bloor entrance of High Park at 1pm (as shown on the map here) and we'll walk to the location. Anybody who shows up a little late can just use the map and pictures to find their way.

If you think there is a possibility of you getting lost or anything else coming up, PM Khel right now to get his cell number.

Perhaps we could do that. But you should be asking Blue, he was the person who scouted out the spot for us. I actually haven't been inside the park yet.

I would leave it the way it is, unless we find that it will rain or something a few days prior.
I'd prefer not to battle in the shelter unless we have to. If one of the shelters has a grassy area near it, that would be ideal. Battling on concrete is generally frowned upon.

I realize that on the map the sheltered areas look entirely surrounded by grass, but in my mind I can only picture one of the shelters, and it's sort of off the side of the trail and surrounded by trees.
Oh yeah, If you guys need another stadium i have an Attack Stadium. Do i need to go through some sort of inspection though or something?
Also, To anyone who is going to the Tourny, if you have any, could you bring a 100 track or 90 track only if i can borrow it from you at the tourny. Also, HF and FS please. If you don't want me to borrow it i understand.

Like what?
If it has any Bumps, Holes, dents, anything that can knock off a beyblades speed or rhythm.

We're good for stadiums I think, but it wouldn't hurt for you to bring it.
wat are the stadiums u guys are gonna be using?
i know attack stadium and metal fight stadium
well the attack stadium is a metal fight stadium. I'm bringing one of those

Kei is also bringing a balance stadium.

We might have a second attack stadium if we need it.
And imma bring my Attack stadium
I sent out another email to the AN list to remind them of the tournament.
Im sorry guys, but imma have to win this. Its the only way i can get LL drago since my parents banned me from buying any more off the Internet. So Im just putting out a fair warning, you should all be fighting for second place cuz the first place prize is already taken DJ 2002
Wut!? Good luck with that.....
It was a joke, get some trash talk starting.
Or are we not aloud to do that xP
Still, i really, REALLY need that LL Drago
^
Same, i'll be fighting full blast for first place, I really need that stadium.
But if you honestly think about it...
5 bucks says Khel pwns us all.

really, last i remember you came third and khel came second Grin
Wouldn't it be ironic if the hosts happened to face each other early on, eliminated each other, then somehow left the tourney to the noobish players? :p

Just because i said it, it's not happening. xD

Anyway, The tourney draws nearer...
4 more days to train/prepare. So if anybody's gonna be a turkey and withdraw, speak now or forever hold your pisces.

edit: some friends of mine might turn up, and while i couldn't convince them to enter, they might be into some free play, this cool? entry fees necessary?

I won't be withdrawing, but I will still forever hold my four Pisces. Grin (...well, maybe not)

No fees for free play, obviously. But if we end up not having enough people for a tournament, you may have to force them to enter!
I'll walk with an extra $10, just in case. xD

So anybody want to head up early for whatever reason?

Also, if anybody lives in the brampton area, fire me a pm, we could probably meet up for pre tournament practice/random jabber.
It's quite clear the mysterious To is going to win without a single MFB (I ain't using Quentz, too pretty to get scuffed, lmao).
D: I feel like im gonna get pwned now since its my first time Unhappy
Aww well, as long as im havin fun, i guess losin wont be so bad!

Quote:So anybody want to head up early for whatever reason?

Yeah i will be there early i think. I always love to be early.
Can som1 help me about this high park tourney if u wanna help ( im not always on this site) add solidgrass@hotmail.com on ur msn list & help plz & ty.
What do you need help with? :\
So It doesn't seem like any mfb will be sold at this event. Unhappy

About how much mfb+launchers will you guys be able to loan to non mfb tourney goers/free players?
In all honesty I didn't feel like taking the financial hit on ordering stuff with the hopes of selling it. Especially without any sort of confirmation on the amount of people who are going to come.

I have a couple spare launchers and am willing to lend a blade with those to people who need them. Obviously those with intentions of entering the tournament will get first priority over those who want to just play.
