General GFX Thread

Use GIMP. Its a lot better than you think. although you need to download it, it is COMPLETELY FREE
t lighting is great is the focal great work Joyful_3 though iv'e seen that style tons of time already
I need help with making borders, I've faced the biggest problem in my entry for the tournament.

I followed a tutorial that went edit>canvas size then 0.10 for height and width, I wasn't able t pick the colour for the border and I deleted the top render which I did it on but it was still there, then I had to get off as I had to study.

Any help, need it for something I'm working on.
Why go to the complicated part? XD

if you really want a border, first make a new layer and go to Layer>apply image. just hit Enter.

Then right click on the layer, and select Blending options. go to stroke, and make sure the size is just 1. set it to "inside" to see the border.

I'm using Pixlr right now, and it's pretty easy. I made my signature that way, and I think that program is great! Especially when it's free...

Is my sig okay for a beginner?
To be honest, it is OK for a beginner, in 1996 ... Not in 2012.
I totally agree with Kai-V
Can anybody pls CnC on avatar i made ^
It is better than what could be done in Photoshop, obviously, but it is probably too simple for something done in Cinema4D ? At least, all the reflections are there.
i agree with kai-v better try gimp.

Focus it can be improved more. Firstly gfx written in middle is not that great and color scheme is not goood better try something soothing to eyes. Also i would like to recommend u a tut on these rotating avatars its created by dinoaxis on deviantart. Search for it as it will give u much better results.
Don't mean to spam but , CnC on mine too , please ?

Did you really make the background ? Because it looks like you just took two pictures, made one the background, did not blend the other, and added white text.
I know it's bad to disclose my entry for the WBO competition but I really would like some comments on this.

dude, gimp isn't used for making 3D artwork. It's possible but it would be extremely hard for beginners

He was quoting Kai-V on her CnC to Yukio not Focus.
