TEAM ASSIGNMENT PROCESS

We will build the teams onsite. We will follow the process highlighted below to create fair teams and promote competition.

As describe below, we will sort the players from highest to lowest by their BRs.

  • The top 12 players by BR will become team captains.
  • The middle 12 players by BR will get into a "hat draw" and get assigned to teams randomly.
  • And the last 12 will assigned chronologically from lowest to highest to teams. For example, the player with the lowest BR gets assigned to the team captain with the highest BR. The players with second to last BR gets assigned to the captain with the 2nd best BR.

HOW TO WIN IN TEAM BATTLES

This format is a lot different than traditional Swiss and single battles. It involves 2 separate points tracking simultaneously. We will track points for the team as a whole and also individual matches for your personal BR.

Each team will have 3 players were one of them will serve as the captain. He or She is responsible for informing judges of the team's decisions in secret.

Before each match, the team has 2 minutes to determine the order in which they will play their sets, which is communicated to the judge by the team captain. Once both teams have done so, the judge announces the first set's pairing and the match begins.

Sets are best-of-5 as usual, but individual round wins will count towards your BR. After all three sets are played, the team with the most cumulative rounds won wins the match.

[Image: Screen-Shot-2021-07-05-at-4-25-08-PM.png]

Let's use the table above to explain the process in a narrative way.

Player 1 won over Player 2: These individual matches will count towards your rankings (BR) in WBO just as if you were playing individual matches in preliminary rounds in Swiss tournaments. Even if your team wins or lose.

Player 1 won 3 rounds in this match, these means TEAM A now have 3 cumulative rounds in their pockets while TEAM B has 2.

Official score up to this point is 3 - 2 for Team A.

Player 3 vs 4 is the same scenario as the first match. Player 3 won over Player 4.

Official score up to this point is 6 - 4 for TEAM A.

Now we go to the last battle between Player 5 & 6. As you can see Player 6 came in hot and won 3 - 0 over Player 5. These puts the team score 7 - 6 to give TEAM B the victory.

Using this same example, if everything stayed the same, but Player 5 would have won 1 round in the last battle, it would have caused a tie to 7 - 7. In this case, each team will select one blader to represent it in a tiebreaker match, which is told to the judge by the team captain.

GREAT TO KNOW: There is NO RULE on using same parts among team members. Is not that great? Have fun!

**ANNOUNCEMENT**

We are only 7 days away for our Summer Games RELOADED. I am VERY excited about this one because it brings us closer as bladers and make us work together to get the "W".

Just like the anime, team battles are exciting from beginning to end. From knowing your teammates weakness and strengths all the way to working together and syncing through each match.

There are couple of things to mention:

1. Tickets: Everyone should have received their tickets via email. If you have not, please check your SPAM folder. If still not there, please reach out to me here in WBO or send an email to support@beybladepremier.com

2. Team Members: Please check the instructions above on how each team will be built. We will create all teams at the beginning of the day so yo guys have time to practice as teams while the SWISS tournament is running.

Make sure to be there early. Many have asked me if they can just come later in the day when the team tournament should happen... the real answer is that we do not know exactly since those time are "tentative". We will start right away after the SWISS is finished.  It will all depends on how fast the SWISS tournament goes. I am certain that it will go very fast since all possible judges are not playing in it which could end up in having 5-6 judges at a time per round. This means that it will move very FAST.

3. Hotel Stay: I am bit late for this one, but still important for some of you. If you want to stay at the hotel, they have provided us a special rate of $119 per night. Use the following link to apply the group rate automatically. Book your group rate for Florida Beyblade Premiere

If you have any questions about your reservation, please contact richard.enderica@marriott.com and mention you are from the Beyblade Premier group.

4. Fall Season of Beyblade Premier: We are designing and planning what we consider to be the BIGGEST news in the Beyblade community in a LONG time. Something that will make you rethink Beyblade as a real sport with media coverage. We cannot wait to share with you guys what we have been working day in and day out. We will announce it during RELOADED.

5. Social Channels: Please make sure to follow us in FB and IG. This is the easiest way for us to communicate leading up to the event.

As always, let me know if you have any questions!
