FAN EXPO BEYBLADE SUMMIT
Park behind MTCC South Building - Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Saturday, August 29th, 2009 - 1PM SHARP!!! (We won't wait for you)
MFB FORMAT

Since it seems like we have garnered a sufficient amount of interest for a tournament, we are turning this "meetup" into the FAN EXPO BEYBLADE SUMMIT! This will be an official WBO tournament, but sadly, there will be no prizes this time around; but you can still compete for Beypoints and Faces! Also, make sure you have your Blader Passport or bring $5!

No specific location within the park has been determined, but I do not think it should be too hard to find one another. If you think you're going to have any trouble, PM Khel for his cell number as the event date draws near.

If it is raining, we will meet up at the main entrance of the South Building.

We hope to see you there. Smile

Confirmed Attendees:
Kei
Khel
Minion
D-Trix
kool-kid9980
Blue

Possible Attendees:
DynamicUno + roommate
To
jamie

ORIGINAL POST:
Well taking over from the old topic (Sorry Gadget) we are seeing if there is interest in hosting a meetup at Fan Expo 2009 in Toronto. More info on the event can be found here

Now I have never been to this convention, so I am hoping that someone who has experience there would be able to give advice as to how to pursue this and where we should set up.

Like I mentioned this would really just be a meet-up. So anyone bring whatever beyblades you have (Legal of course) and we just play. I mean we did spend money to get this things so why wouldn't we want to play against actual people?

So opinions anyone?

Yeah. Probably should have mentioned this in the OP (will edit it). You need to have a Blader Passport to enter, or alternatively, you can pay $5 USD for this one tournament.
DynamicUno is in, he's going to ask his roommate, and lightning.star is still a maybe, but it looks likely.

How are the prizes normally funded? Does the admission fee cover the prizes, or are the prizes payed for by the people running the tournament? I've got a few spare parts (new, but not in box) that I would be willing to sell as prizes.
Wish I could make it to this one, folks... hahaha, hell, I even have the day off from work, but I've got a wedding to go to (plus, I can't legally get into Canada at the moment, haven't picked up a passport yet).

Sweet.

For HPT Khel and I payed for prizes out of our own pockets, but in the future we'll probably use WBO funds (donations, entrance fees, etc).

We'll probably get one more tournament set up for this year; hopefully you can make it to that one!
I should be able to make this. If I can't it'll be a last minute thing (or I'm still asleep). So count me as 90% sure, lmao.

Edit- Ugh, I forgot I don't have a winder, or shooter, or a real Metal Fight Beyblade that isn't Quetz (I don't count that Light one). Is anybody selling, or willing to let me borrow their stuff again? lmao
I can lend you some gear again, To. Next tournament we should have some MFB for sale.
To, firekid wants to buy my BB-22 but imma tell him if he can't buy it by the tourny day, Im gonna sell it at the tourny. Also with a stadium [Minion i think is buying that] And a Shooter + Winder
El, don't worry I'll rep for the Roc too. so will Dynamic actually haha

btw I do have a blader passport now guys.
Really, really hate that i'll have to miss this ):
YOur probably not coming because your scared of seeing me again xP
OMG Menacing kid with a bey and glasses D:
Terrifying. I'm surprised I get any sleep at night >.>

I have some friends heading up to the expo, so some people might pop in randomly.
Oh, i haven't shown you my evil look. When i put my sharingan glasses on, Demon Mask, And Drunken Master Robes, it will look like i will devour your soul with one move of my PINKY TOE Angry
Hey all,

I can make this for sure if it's at 1PM (barring any crazy border people, in which case I will call one of you to let you know what's up), but we will please please need to ensure that it moves along quickly, I have a lot to do in Toronto and I'll only be up there for a couple of hours so if this runs too long I'll have to bail out before the end.

I do live 5 hours away so if border or traffic hold me up I'll let Minion know and you guys can move ahead without me. But we should be there in time.

Cheers!

Alright, that's cool. We'll do our best to get it going right at 1pm.

I'm heading out to the expo tomorrow; so see you guys on Saturday! Smile
Seeing some of the guest list, I kind of actually want to go to the con. I have the money for admission...
Sure DynamicUno. We'll be sure to get this started ASAP.

So tournament goers here's a hint show up at 12:30. That way we can at least get some free battles going.
It looks like there is a rather large chance that it will be raining today. If it's raining around 12-1pm, lets meet up at the main entrance of the South Building, and we'll figure something out from there.

qft&clearness lol
Boo-urns! *shakes fist at sky* Unless is clears up right now, and gets gorgeously sunny- outside is going to suck.

Anyways, see you guys there!
Bring an umbrella people if you don't want to get wet.

Bring some extra cash in case we need to go inside the convention.
Good luck guys! Hope everything works out well Smile

If it comes down to it, I'm pretty sure we can set up somewhere inside without having to pay for the convention. Everything in the expo is happening in the levels below the main entrance.

I'm in the lobby of the Intercontinental right now, and the line up for the retailer/exhibitor's room is ridiculous, so if anybody wants to meet up right now, let me know.
I think I'm gonna head out soon (I've never gone to the MTCC by Subway so I'm not sure how long it'll take). Where should we meet? The parkette? Or near the South, or even the North Building?
Parkette. Main entrance of the South Building if it's raining.
