To be fair, the circumstances were different and Valt using the bound gimmick to propel Hyuga was smart.

I was expecting something like rantaro finally going into that high legend teir but instead we got a overconfident rantaro who screw up lol. The strat that lui and drum use was pretty dang smart and the rush shoot that valt use was pretty good.

And it's pretty sad that valt never beat lui in the past 4 years not counting the hyuga one.

There is some weird facial expression and off model character throughout the episode, the 3D sequence where the bey battle was acceptably good probably one of my favorite throughout this arc so far.

I loved this episode I also give it a solid 9 I still don’t care for Lui but the fact Drum had to butt in was a little funny but also a little dumb I expected Rantaro to be completely useless bc Lui ran straight through his Glide tornado like it was nothing and Drum ran straight through it as well Valt was pounding Drum until he accidentally hit Dragon into Ragnarock to awaken him then it gave us season 1 vibes when it showed Valkyrie and Longinus getting ready to clash just to cool

This is the battle I got pretty hyped for, so I decided to watch this episode and here's my review:

Well I can't actually comment on the Shu and Rantaro scene since I do not understand Japanese, so I'll have to wait for the sub. It's likely that Rantaro was confronting about Shu regarding his partnership with Lane, with Shu just blowing it off with a vague reason. This is just my guess though, but it is interesting to see the friends confronting each other here.

The Actual Battle

Alright onto the battle, Lui utilizing the spinning dish to boost his momentum looked great, and when charging towards Valkyrie so easily, it looks all the more satisfying. Valts moves against Drum is pretty cool and I do like that Valt used a similar spin boosting strategy as Ranjiro, only this time he did it a lot with Rush Shoot.

Valt actually gets the upper hand against Drum so I assumed it would've resulted in just Valt vs Lui afterwards. No, what actually happens is Rantaro attempts to slow down Longinus, who was pushing Ragnaruk constantly, with his Glide Tornado, but Lui is able to push past it and leaving Ragnaruk to run into Dragon, causing the awakening and ruining Valt's attack loops against Dragon.

Rantaro loses, of course, after Dragon knocks him out. Man I would've thought the episode would pull some kind of subverted expectations on us, but then again, we already had Ranjiro win recently so maybe that would've been too predictable too? I mean if I expected Rantaro to pull a win, maybe his loss was partially unexpected, it's a paradox for me, that's for sure.

Valt uses all his might to go head on against Lui and it looks like the two would have a fierce clash... but then Dragon hits Valkyrie, causing Valkyrie's balance to wobble and exposing the underside, making it a neat weak spot for Longinus to uppercut and beat him with... man Valt still hasn't properly beaten Lui... has he? Not counting his win when tagged with Hyuga, he's never properly beaten Lui, like there's never a full match where Longinus actually loses while Valkyrie ended up still spinning or lasting longer than Longinus. It kinda sucks, but it's just a running joke at this point, I swear.

Other than that this episode had a very fun battle and I can't wait to see more battles with Lui.

I find it kind of funny how Lui and Drum both acknowledged Valt before the battle and completely forgot Rantaro. They had every reason to, seeing as he slipped and got beaten. It wasn't bad, it was just that Lui and Drum were better. Still a decent skill gap tho.

Brave Valkyrie is my favorite bey, and Valt is my favorite character even if he's a bit overrated.

That’s the thing, this isn’t about beating people or tying lose ends, the match winners of this tournament are random and based off of nothing (excluding Hyuga and Lane’s teams). Don’t worry, Rantaro isn’t go to suck for the entirety of the tournament. If Ranjiro could win his match for his team on his own half then so can Rantaro. I gotta agree, Rantaro making them lose simply because of the same thing that Drum beat him with last time is kind of sad- I guess they couldn’t find a more creative way to make Rantaro and Valt lose but they will definitely win some of their matches, we just gotta wait. Drum and Lui will eventually end up losing some too.

What I meant by preceder was that they used the same bey but different entities. The first owner is friends with the rival of the second owner. Wouldn’t you agree that Lui is stealing Lodin’s Thunder.

Good battle. Lui and Dante work together really well, and nice to see Valt and Lui use the Storm plate. Also hanamaru’s Dante animation returning was a pleasant surprise.
