Anime North 09 @ The Renaissance Hotel
Golden Delicious Room

9 AM - Free Battle and Set Up
10 AM - "Beyblade 101" Workshop
11 AM - Free Battle and Registration for Beyblade War Room
12 PM - Beyblade War Room Tournament

The fire of BeyBattle still burns in the hearts of Bladers everywhere, and they'll all be coming to BEYBLADE WAR ROOM at ANIME NORTH 2009! If you haven't seen it yet, come visit us to learn all about METAL FIGHT BEYBLADE! We'll be hosting an overview and strategy of Beyblade presentation entitled BEYBLADE 101, and then we'll be taking registration for the BEYBLADE WAR ROOM tournament!

No Beyblade? No problem! We have loads of Metal Fight Beyblades with us and you'll be able to draft the parts to form a full Beyblade, then play and trade with other Bladers before the tournament to hone your skills!

So whether you're a veteran Blader looking for the next big competition, or someone new who is simply wondering how the heck a spinning top could be strategic and competitive, stop by! We'd love to see you there!

This event was AMAZING!
I got 5th place (which I think was pretty respectable, considering my opponents, the last match I had with Anubis was tense)

I can't believe its over, it was awesome Smile
meeting everyone was a real treat, I love this community.

Well I could upload them now if I really wanted to since I brought my laptop but I don't feel like messing with it at the moment. lol
I'm really glad everyone had a good time.

Yes, it's true, we were past maximum occupancy at some points ... they really need to give us a bigger room next year.

I'll write up more details later -- I'm exhausted -- but just wanted to say thanks to everyone who came.

Also, I had a few ranked battles, and my only losses were versus Anubis. Grin
God damn, whoever defeats Anubis from now should get a Face reward Wink
And thank you for hosting it. Smile

I think stealing all the BeyPoints he gained from going through the tournament will be reward enough.
*hides BP under bed*
I can't believe I sold out half my shipment (everything I bought) in a matter of 20 minutes.
To you guys who are waiting to meet me at the DoubleTree, I'll probably be there at around 12:30.

Cool, I'll go get some food then, unless we're eating lunch together.

gdsasjdgfshdgsahdshadgfsh COOL FINALLY A MUSLIM BLADER I WILL WELCOME YOU!!!!!!!!!

NICE JOB ANUBIS AND NICE JOB KHEL FOR BEATING HIM
I'm back! As everyone else has made clear, the tournament was great! I also had a great time hanging out with you guys, in the time that I had. For those who I hadn't met before, it was a pleasure meeting you! It's too bad I wasn't able to make it to Real Thailand ... For those of you who I didn't tell, one of my two friends that came, came from Michigan basically to just see me, so it would have felt wrong to just go to Real Thailand and not do something he wanted to do (because I dragged him to BWR lol. Admittedly, he did say that he had fun). We ended up going back to the hotel to put our stuff away ... and as we arrived he said he was too tired to go anywhere. And by then you guys had left ...

It's hard managing time between two separate groups of friends/people in the span of two days! The entire experience as a whole was even better than last year; I enjoyed every moment. I am already eagerly anticipating next year. Smile

We got 37 participants this year, so if MFB is launched in North America next year, things are going to be insane (even more than this year!).

How many committee members entered the tournament? I'm sure it was only Anubis, Khel, and myself. It couldn't have been an all-committee final!

LOL, I love how in the Group A round robin, when it was our turn to face each other, we just sat there staring into space, waiting for someone to choose their Beyblade. Hurray for stall clause!

Your choice for the 3rd place match truly caught me by surprise as well (I won't spoil what it was, so people have something to look forward to in the video!), especially considering the stadium. If you hadn't missed the stadium in the first two matches, you may have beaten me!

(May. 24, 2009  5:30 AM)Anubis Wrote: This was the most incredible thing ever. We all had a serious blast. I'm completely shocked that I managed to get to the top; Khel beat me in the first round. That was an intense match and everyone was holding their breath. We tied twice and he ended up beating me 3-2. He's amazing. It was the highlight of the tournament for me.

I totally agree, one of the best matches in the tournament, if not the best.

BEYBLADE BIGGER WAR ROOM @ AN2010!!!!!!!

I would have beaten you if we did more than one ranked battle! Tongue_out_wink

I will be uploading all of my (unedited) video and photos ASAP!
Good job guys. Glad you all had fun. Anubis is truly a strong blader. Can't wait to see the pictures and videos! Were there any suprisingly good bladers not known on the forums?

Yes! There was this one 11 year old who made it to the semifinals and it was his first time playing. I really, really hope he joins the board- he was seriously cool.

Haha, are you talking about the kid who beat everyone with his fake giant WD before the tournament?

Ahahaha, I WISH I had gotten a video of this. Brad went to rip down the sign he drew up describing the parts draft, and the entire pad fell down on this one girl!

ahh i'm very jealous i've honestly wanted to attend one of these huge get-togethers ever since otc but i've been to broke T_T
looks like everyone had a blast though!

i would hope to attend next year with other nyc bladers and show ya how its done :3
Would you guys believe that this tournament was the first time I battled another person in over 4 years?
Well considering you came 2nd and hadn't played in 4 years, that's a pretty good effort, Congrats, So what happened on the TV ? what did it show ?
We just had the anime running in the beginning, and when the tournament started we had the excel spreadsheet going on. Also during registration we just had a couple lines in Word as an announcement.
why wherent the stadiums on tables? it would have been cooler Grin
also isnt that the exact same place you did the BND tournament? cuz the floors carpet are the same...

Edit: anubis... wanna show us the prizes you got? Tongue_out
