EXPERIMENTAL BURST FORMAT (FULL DECK ROTATION) - 12PM [FREE ENTRY!]
(Unranked + Credits/Faces + Automatic Hasbro Beyblade Burst Giveaway Entry)
BURST FORMAT RULES | DECK ROTATION RULES BELOW
______________________________________________________________

Tired of being stuck with one Beyblade per BeyBattle? Then join the Toronto community on Saturday, November 12th, 2016 to get in on our first Full Deck Rotation Burst Format event in several months: BEYBLADE SWITCH! Not only that, but as a part of our series of experimental events, entry is free, and you can earn a chance to win some great Hasbro Beyblade Burst prizes while you're at it!

Location
We'll be playing in the shelter where we usually play. If you're coming to High Park via the Bloor St. W entrance, just follow that road down on the right side and you'll see the large building/shelter on the left hand side before you reach the tennis courts. If you have any questions about the location, please post here! This map has the area we'll be playing in roughly outlined:

Blader Passport
This experimental Burst Format event is part of a special campaign and is therefore free to play in! No fee or Blader Passport required! Although you do not need it for this event specifically, you may purchase a Blader Passport for $20 CDN–which will grant you entry into all regular WBO events for an entire year, among other benefits.

Experimental Unranked Burst Format Information & Giveaway!
As the launch of Beyblade Burst internationally approaches, we would like to take this opportunity before what will likely be a huge influx of new users to experiment with new rulesets and ideas to make WBO Organized Play more fun to play, easy to organize, standardized, and timely in their execution. As a result, the tournament at this event will be played using new experimental rules and will as a result be unranked. Credits and Faces will still be awarded, however.

The new rules for this tournament will be as is described in this thread, with one exception being that the entire event will be played using Deck Rotation.

Quote:Deck Rotation Format

First Blader to reach 5 points wins.

- Outspin: 1 point
- Stadium Miss/Contactless KO: 1 point
- Knockout: 2 points
- Burst Finish: 2 points

- Each Blader comes to the stadium with 1 to 3 completed Beyblades, referred to collectively as a "deck". There can be no repeated parts within a deck. Before the BeyBattle begins, each player presents their deck to the opponent.

- Both Bladers attach their first Beyblade in secret; the match begins as normal.

- When a Blader wins a round, they have the option to switch their Beyblade for another Beyblade in their deck. However, switching is not mandatory.

- After the round winner has decided if they would like to switch their Beyblade or not, the loser may decide if they would like to switch.

All of these rule changes may or may not be implemented into our regular events in the future. We will be monitoring the results and feedback from this event to help gauge what works and what doesn't. So, by participating in this event not only are you getting a chance to play with some exciting new rules that will certainly shake up how every player approaches their battles and the choices they make, you're helping us to shape the future of the WBO!

As thanks for playing to the best of your ability in this event and helping us make more informed decisions, all participants in this event will be entered into a Hasbro Beyblade Burst Giveaway!

Beyond the free entry and Faces and Credits available to participants in experimental format events, all participants will also be entered into a Hasbro Beyblade Burst-themed giveaway!

Three lucky winners will win one of the following Face Boosters:

Additionally, all three winners will have their choice of receiving one Hasbro Beyblade Burst Starter OR one Hasbro Beyblade Burst Dual Pack! Especially for players living outside of Canada, this is a great opportunity to win some of the brand new Hasbro Beyblade Burst before they are released in your country!

What is Beyblade Burst?
Beyblade Burst is the brand new, third generation of Beyblade by TAKARA-TOMY! It launched in 2015 in Japan and Hasbro recently launched it in Canada in September 2016. If you are not familiar with Beyblade Burst, please take a look at the Beyblade Wiki article covering it, the Beyblade General Forum, and the Beyblade Burst Hasbro Topic for the most up to date information about Hasbro's release of the series internationally.

Don't have any Beyblades from this new series? No problem! It's likely that people will have some on hand for sale, and if not, we would be glad to lend one to you for the duration of the event!

Side Notes

Please be aware of your belongings
We'd advise users to please, please look after your stuff. While yes this is a Beyblade tournament and we're not suggesting that any of us would attempt to take each other's stuff it is still happening at a public venue where other people (who may not be so friendly) are going to be present as well. Of course, if you see a personal belonging lying around bring it up any of the judges so we can return it to the right person. Your co-operation is appreciated!

All players must arrive on-time
If you do not arrive at the scheduled start time, you risk being excluded from the tournament. The software we use to run our events–Challonge–does not allow us to add in extra participants once the tournament has started.

If you know in advance that you will be late, please post in this thread or contact someone at the event and depending on the circumstances we can perhaps still include you if we know you will arrive soon.

All questions for this tournament may be asked in this thread!

Think you can make it? Post here!
If you think you'll be able to make it out to BEYBLADE SWITCH, please post here and I will start building an attendance list!

Hey guys, just a few things I'd like to draw your attention to since the tournament is in just a few days!:

Experimental Format Rule Updates
We just posted v3 of the Experimental Format updates here. The main update in v3 is modifications to the procedure after every battle in Deck Rotation. Considering this event is full Deck Rotation, I suggest reviewing the updates!

Please arrive on time!

Re-posting this in case some of you missed this new note I added to the opening post. I'd really like to make an effort to start on-time; it isn't fair to everyone if you show up late to the event unannounced. Some of us might not mind sometimes because many of us are close friends, but it doesn't look good on the community for new players joining if we are tardy with our start times a lot! As a result, I am going to start being rather strict about starting tournaments as close to on-time as possible for the benefit of everyone who arrives on-time. Thanks for your understanding!

But if you know you're going to be late, please let us know ahead of time (preferably a few days before the event) and we can try to work something out for you! Smile

What am I going to do if my #1 fan isn't there?
Just know Scott, whether I'm at the tournament or a million miles away, nothing in my heart will change how I feel about being your #1 fan!
Heading out now... I know I said I would come early but I have six test this week and I really needed to study XD
Final Standings

Tournament took longer than I think we were all expecting since it was full Deck Rotation and we did one point Burst Finishes, but it was a lot of fun! Will post my thoughts on the new rules we played with soon.

Thanks to everyone who came out today, especially @[Beyonomics] for playing for the first time in a few months and also to @[InvincibleZ] for coming all the way from Markham to pick up some Beyblades. Hope you can stay to play in the future! Smile

Great to see @[Hato] and @[BAWB18] too, but next time please try to post in here so we know if you're coming ahead of time!

Next tournament should be in a couple weeks hosted by @[1234beyblade]. It's going to be Zero-G Format, but I'd reeeeally like it if we could do Burst Format as well!
Yah let's do two events, burst and zero g
Well said @[Kei].

It was great to see everyone again today! Thank you to Scott and everyone else for accommodating me near the end.
I had a lot of fun today! I am glad to have finally attended a tournament again, and to have seen the Toronto Squad again too! Smile

While I didn't do too great (4-5), at least I got to play again, and I must say that Mr. Beyo (@[Beyonomics]) is a great Blader. I had an extremely close match with him, and probably one of the closet matches I have ever played. Sorry about not posting @[Kei], it was a last minute decision.

I may post my thoughts on the new format later on tonight Smile
Lmfao thanks @[Hato] gave me and my buddies a good laugh, come Monday I think I'll change the name plate on my desk to "Mr. Beyo".

Keep it up kid you're on fire!! Spin those tops
When will the hasbro bey lotto happen?

When we've concluded the experimental format test run and decide on a finalized set of rules. There's no defined end date for this yet, but I would imagine it will absolutely be settled by the beginning of December or at the very latest, the end of the year. After that, we will compile the eligible entries for the Hasbro BeyLotto and announce the winners.
Ooooh, K, I thought it was going to be a special draw for everyone that participated yesterday.
I want to let you guys know that I found an extra Triple disk in my box, and it's not mine. If it is yours, please PM me! Also, I am missing a Knuckle disk, so if you have it please let me know! If you have it @[JesseObre] since you used it, please let me know. Smile
