BB-113 Scythe Kronos T125EDS Draft

oh, I got a couple more combos to list like for a spin steal custom MF-F Meteo Ldrago ED145EDS, and for attack Pegasis 145RF.

oh, I forgot scythe kronos has T125 not 145! so the attack combo I gave would be useless.

Quote:Face: Kronos

This Face depicts Kronos, the Greek God/Titan of agriculture and time, or Saturn in Roman terms, which was believed to be dwelling in the depths of Tartarus.

Clear Wheel: Kronos
-Weight: 2.63 Grams
-Diameter: 3.7 cm

Kronos was believed to carry a scythe, which explains the two scythe-shaped sides on the Clear Wheel. It is a translucent, dark-grey color. It was built for Stamina and performs relatively well in this domain, though slightly outclassed by other Clear Wheels such as Cancer and Cygnus.

Metal Wheel: Scythe

-Weight: 37.33 Grams
-Diameter: 4.9 cm

As a 4D Metal Wheel, Scythe has a mode-changing gimmick and has two pieces in its composition : a Core, which is the main piece of the Metal Wheel made of metal, and a PC Frame, which is positioned on top of the Core.

===PC Frame===
-Weight: 2.39 Grams

The color of this PC Frame is a translucent pale purple. Being able to counter opponents' attacks, this PC Frame is quite light. It is round and contains two small protruding wings on the side. In an overview, there are two tabs on the center of each wing that fit into the two slots on the Core’s top side. When this part is flipped, Scythe's mode is changed.

===Core===
Scythe is also comprised of a Core, which is very thin and wide. It is almost perfectly circular and has some sharp, square-shaped bumps on the top. There are rectangular-shaped slots to keep the PC frame fixed while in Attack Mode on top of its structure as well. Due to how round and relatively heavy this Metal Wheel is, its Stamina is nearly comparable to Wheels such as Phantom and Duo. In the shape of a disk, it is very thin, leading it to have minimum Metal Wheel contact, which helps to preserve Spin Velocity.

----
*'''Attack Mode:''' In this mode, the PC Frame is fixed and therefore serves to attack more than absorb shocks, since it is very accessible on top of the Core's flat, disk-like shape.
*'''Stamina Mode:''' When flipped, the PC Frame's tabs are not stuck in the Core’s holes anymore, so the only thing keeping it in place is the Clear Wheel, which only stops it from coming off the Beyblade entirely. Consequently, the PC Frame becomes free-spinning in this mode. Stickers applied on the small wings of the PC Frame also help identifying the different modes, just like with [[Poison Serpent SW145SD|SW145]].
----
The free-spinning Stamina Mode is superior to the Attack Mode, because the PC Frame, once shifted into Stamina Mode, is able to counter another Beyblade's attacks during a battle by absorbing a portion of the impact. Thus, it will have more high-speed spin velocity, and it could even steal spin from an opposing Beyblade to an extent, although never as well as Meteo L Drago with its rubber. However, those abilities are not quite comparable to Phantom and Duo's Defensive and Stamina skills, so Scythe should only be used if Synchrom Wheels and those two Metal Wheels are unavailable, as it is very outclassed.

===Use in Defense Combination===
With its wide and circular circumference, the BD145 Track is able to fit underneath Scythe snuggly. Matched with high Defense Bottoms, combos such as '''MF Scythe Kronos BD145CS''' can overcome some decent Attack customizations, but struggles to a large degree against top-tier Attack combos.

===Use In Stamina Customizations===
Scythe's round and wide shape, as well as its thinness, gives it impressive endurance, even against some Attack combinations. Customizations like '''MF Scythe Kronos BD145EDS''' are very close to being top-tier.

===Mold Variation: Hasbro Metal Fury Version===
Hasbro's Scythe in their Metal Fury release has two sloped metal scythes molded onto the Metal Wheel instead of a PC Frame. Similar to all other Metal Fury releases, Scythe is hollowed out at its bottom, reducing its weight significantly. This weight reduction and the Recoil formed from the scythes on the Metal Wheel weaken its use for Stamina and Defense purposes. As a result, it is severely outclassed by Metal Wheels like Duo and Phantom, and it is not even particularly useful for Bladers that only have access to Hasbro parts, excluding the EDS in this release, due to Hasbro's release of Hyperblades.

==Track: Tornado 125==
*'''Weight:''' 1.7 grams

T125 has four upward-facing wing protrusions spaced apart widely. The Track is designed to work in a similar way to DF145, although the effect of downward force produced by this Track is highly negligible. The performance of this Track is similar to D125, and as a height, is generally overshadowed by CH120.

===Use in Attack Customization===
Although CH120 is considerably more versatile than T125, T125 can still be used to a moderate degree of effectiveness in '''MF Gravity Perseus T125R²F''' (Attack Version, Counter Mode). Metal Wheels that were released subsequently to Gravity and that do better in Attack, like VariAres and Blitz, can also perform well with T125 and other 125-height Tracks, however, the combination of Gravity and T125 is notable because Gravity cannot perform as well at any other height.

Bottom: Eternal Defense Sharp

-Weight: 1.13

EDS possesses notable Balance and Stamina thanks to the free-spinning Defense Sharp tip it has. This Bottom is extremely helpful for Stamina combos with a BD145 in Normal Mode. The interior of this Bottom consists of a small, metal bar that makes a sonic-like sound when it makes contact with the stadium floor because of the double friction created: the normal friction of the tip with the stadium floor, but also the slight friction of the metal rod with its plastic casing. With such contact and hover-like feature, it is able to keep great Balance, while preserving a high amount of Stamina during battle, which helps BD145 to avoid scraping the stadium floor. EDS is also taller than WD, but it wears down easily.

===Use In Stamina Customizations===

EDS' great Stamina and affinities with Tracks like BD145 make it a perfect Bottom for such top-tier Stamina combinations as '''MF Scythe Kronos BD145EDS'''.

===Faulty Productions===
EDS is notably known to have more faulty production molds compared to other Bottoms which incorporate similar free-spinning systems. There have been numerous reports which indicate that the metal shaft inside the casing was off-centered to a highly visible degree. These irregularities directly and noticeably affect its stamina performance. Some extreme cases will yield up to one to two minutes less in terms of Solo Spin tests. A sudden and mildly aggressive evasive movement upon contact before balancing itself is also a good indicator of the off-centered metal shaft.

Other Versions:
*Scythe Kronos T125EDS - Hasbro Metal Fury (Printed Face, blue Track and Bottom)
*Scythe Kronos T125EDS - Faceoff: Great Ring of Destruction (Blue Clear Wheel with silver highlights, blue Track and Bottom)

Overall:
Scythe Kronos is a Beyblade with an abundance of useful Stamina parts. The wide Metal Wheel, free-spinning PC frame and the function of the EDS Bottom are all great assets for a Stamina customization. Scythe Kronos can also endure Attacks well, but other Metal Wheels perform Defense much more effectively. In general, Scythe Kronos T125EDS is, however, a second-tier choice, since it is outclassed by a couple of Metal Wheels, notably most Synchrom Wheels from Beyblade Zero-G, and [[Duo Uranus 230WD|Duo]]. Despite the considerable potential of Stamina in almost all of its parts, unfortunately '''there is little to no reason to own this Beyblade outside of collection purposes'''.
you should remove the bold text in the clear wheel.

===Clear Wheel: Kronos===

*Weight: 2.63 grams

*Kronos is a translucent, grey-purple clear wheel, with a diameter of 3.7 cm or 1.5 inches. This Clear Wheel does not have any different modes, and is also only right spin compatible. Kronos was believed to carry a scythe which explain the two scythe shaped sides on the clear wheel. While decent for Stamina, Kronos is outclassed by several Clear Wheels, including Cancer, Cygnus, Hades, Sagittario II, and Aquario.

===PC Frame===

*Weight: 2.39 grams

*Scythe's PC Frame is round and contains two protruding wings on the side. There are two tabs on the center of each wing that fit into the two slots on the Metal Wheel.
*Attack Mode: When the the PC frame is flipped so that the tabs fit into the Scythe wheel, Scythe is in Attack mode; however, this mode is not useful for Attack purposes, and the force of slamming into an opponent can actually crack the thin plastic PC frame.
*Stamina Mode: When the PC frame is flipped so the tabs do not fit in the Metal Wheel, Scythe is in Stamina mode, where the PC frame spins freely.

*The free spinning Stamina Mode is superior to Attack Mode. This is due to the fact that contact with the free-spinning PC frame has very little effect on Scythe's overall rotational speed, allowing it to spin for much longer than usual when in contact with opponents. Additionally, the PC frame can absorb some of the force of on Attack-type's Smash, spinning around rather than causing the entire beyblade to be launched backwards.

===Core===

*Weight: 37.33 grams

*Scythe is also comprised of a Core, which is very thin and wide, with a diameter of 4.9 cm. It is round and consists of small, square shaped bumps on the top, and rectangular shaped slots to keep the PC frame stable while in Attack Mode. Due to this Metal Wheel's outward weight distribution, it has excellent Stamina potential. Scythe's thin shape and smooth outer edge reduces the amount of friction with its opponents, allowing it to sustain its rotational speed.

===Use in Defense Customizations===

*With proper fitting edge, the BD145 track is able to fit on Scythe snuggly. Due to this, and the use of high Defense bottoms, MF Scythe Kronos BD145CS is a useful, though not top-tier, Defense customization. Scythe's free-spinning PC frame and low height also allows MF-H Scythe Uranus 85RS to absorb powerful attacks from top-tier Attack types.

===Use in Stamina Customizations===

*Scythe's wide diameter, round shape, and thinness allows it to be used in the Stamina custom Scythe Aquario/Cancer W145WD.

===Mold Variation: Hasbro Metal Fury Version===

*Hasbro's Scythe in their Metal Fury release has two sloped metal scythes molded onto the Metal Wheel instead of a PC Frame.

===Track: Tornado 125===

*Weight: 1.84 grams

*T125 has four upward-facing wing protrusions spaced apart evenly around the Track. The Track is designed to work in a similar way to DF145, producing downforce and thereby more grip, although the effect it produces, like DF145, is also negligible. The performance of this Track is similar to D125, and as a height, is generally overshadowed by CH120 due to its versatility. T125 can be used effectively in Attack customizations if CH120 is unavailable.

===Bottom: Eternal Defense Sharp===

*Weight: 1.13 grams

*Eternal Defense Sharp, or EDS is a useful part for Stamina customs using BD145. Since EDS is much taller than WD, it does not scrape on BD145. However, EDS's smaller diameter means that it has much less LAD than WD, and as such, should not be used on customs not requiring its height. EDS's usefulness has been further decreased due to BD145's tendency to migrate upwards on Zero-G Synchrom customs; when BD145 shifts upwards, this allows WD to have enough clearance to not scrape.

===Use in Balance Customizations===

*EDS's tall height and relatively good Stamina can be used in the Stamina/Defense custom MF Duo Aquario BD145EDS.

===Faulty Productions===

*EDS is notably known to have more faulty production molds compared to other Bottoms which incorporate similar free-spinning systems.

*Other Versions:
*Scythe Kronos T125EDS - Hasbro Metal Fury (Printed Face, blue Track and Bottom)
*Scythe Kronos T125EDS - Faceoff: Great Ring of Destruction (Blue Clear Wheel with silver highlights, blue Track and Bottom)

===Overall===

*Weight: 46.47 Grams

*Scythe Kronos is a Beyblade with excellent stamina, due to its wide metal wheel and free spinning PC frame. While it is no longer top-tier, Scythe is still competitive and comes with a difficult-to-find part, EDS. However, since Scythe and EDS are primarily useful on niche combos, there is little reason to own this Beyblade outside of collection purposes.

Since I felt several sections were awkward or discursive, I edited pretty much the whole thing for grammar, clarity, and accuracy. I also felt Ingulit's custom deserved a mention, since it appears to be the only effective counter to Wyvang Wyvang. Furthermore, I removed mentions of "top tier" from non-tier-list customs.
That is the first draft and has been updated a lot since then. When looking through a thread for a draft make sure you read through the whole thread to check for more recent drafts, since it is common for thread makers to leave or not update the OP which often means the draft in the OP is not the most recent one.
Yeah, I noticed that, but I had made enough changes that I didn't want to restart. I copied in several sections from the latest draft that weren't in the OP, and I'll edit it if anything important is missing. Did I miss something?
I didn't read it since I didn't have time but you should check that you're altering the latest draft before you do anything.
Of course. Won't happen again Smile
Kronos is thé god of Time not the god of agriculture.
Not quite - or kinda. The Titan Kronos/Cronus/Kronus whose symbol was the sickle/scythe was a separate being from Chronos (the greek personification of Time (not God of Time, by the way)). The Romans associated Kronos with Saturn, who was God of a bunch of things including agriculture and later developed into God of time, which caused Kronos' association with it, I think. From what I can tell the association of the scythe with Chronos or at least a Father Time figure came after the fact but I can't say for sure, there seems to be conflicting stuff about that.
Anyway:

I made a few simple edits, and also marked anything that is probably outdated or incorrect in red. Suggested revisions to these sections are in blue.

It's almost ready to go, but I would hate for the article to be outdated before it even is put up...
Just caught this, it should definitely be edited out, considering we're in a different meta period:

Scythe Kronos Draft Wrote:Customizations like ''MF Scythe Kronos BD145EDS'' are very close to being top-tier. are very close to being top-tier.

It should be changed to this, as well:

Scythe Kronos Draft Edit Wrote:Customizations like ''MF Scythe Kronos BD145EDS'' were once top-tier, however, were then outclassed by the current competitive metagame we have. The setup, ''Scythe Kronos BD145EDS'' was last seen on the MFB Standard Competitive Customs List as of February 2012, then not seen again the following list released during October 2013 and forward in proposals.

On another note, does anyone else believe Scythe_SA165BWD should be mentioned for its use in Zero-G? It seems to counter Duo Stamina and Balance setups, including Duo_F230(G)CF, of course.
