Fun Fact:Valt was the only character who knows Hyper Flux to never battle with Arthur Peregrine

Yeah, Lui wasn’t world champion in s1. If valt were yo have beat him, he would’ve only been best in Japan. I think it’s safe to presume, around the time of the fight between valt and lui. Free was champion and not much time passed between s1 final battle, and beginning of god

Technically he did beat Valt and Shu therefore making him the number one ranked blader in Japan but if we are putting ranks aside and actually comparing how good they were at the end of the season then the best blader was either Shu or Valt (it seems unclear which one it actually was) since Lui won by pure coincidence in both situations.(Jul. 03, 2020 12:28 AM)SunBlader98 Wrote: Fun Fact:Valt was the only character who knows Hyper Flux to never battle with Arthur PeregrineThis statement is just dumb. This statement is just dumb. No one knew who Free was in season 1. He wasn’t in the anime or manga. So based on the characters in season 1 Lui was the best.
It is stated that before Free was champion it was Kurtz so either Free or Kurtz was champion (also just because a character isn’t mentioned doesn’t meant that they don’t exist during that time)

IMO, Lui should be above Free. Lui took on Hyuga and Hikaru, who beat Free, and beat the duo. If we use the indirect application, Lui basically beat the ones who beat Free. So that should put Lui above.

U are forgetting it was a 2 V 1 and valt is the strongest blader.. so your argument falls flat... lui would have also lost

It was Valt who cleaned that match up. He intervened with Brave Sword. Free was about to crush Hikaru and Valt had to step in. Free is the superior Blader, their matches against each other support that.

This fit very well imo. Valt and Shu are stronger than Aiga.
Valt: 1
Shu: 2
Aiga: 3
Valt: 1
Shu: 2
Aiga: 3
This is how I'd arrange it.
1. Valt
2. Shu
3. Free.
4. Lui.
5. Aiger
This is my preferred placement for Aiger, but I can accept how they've arranged the Big Five this season.

In the latest episode, we see a flashback of Lane/Lean beating Free that too without Variant Lucifer and without giving it his all. Now considering in earlier episodes, Free was still bothered by his loss, this means it must have taken place somewhere in the very recent past. Now, Lui vs Lean with Variant Lucifer, Lean had to give his absolute best to beat Lui. Now Lean beat Free without Lucifer and without a lot of effort, but required a lotta effort with Lucifer to beat Lui. This points that we still have no idea for the rankings. We just have to wait till the Legend Festival but until then I feel Lui has kinda overtaken Free.
Maybe it was Lui's super ultra intense training or Rage Longinus

The rankings are quite clear. The only thing that's never different between the anime and the manga is the rankings. Furthermore, I'm quite sure it was Geist Fafnir that Free was using during that battle. How his battle would go using Mirage is a whole other ball game. Free is still the stronger Blader.
