Hm, I wonder what they could have changed in its design to reduce its weight though ... It seems relatively similar to the actual VariAres.
I'm guessing this stuff will pass through time? I expect Hasbro to at least fix this issue like they did with the tips, which were loose in the beginning.
I took the Fusion Wheel/Energy Ring apart on it and it's mostly plastic. Hardly any metal. It is like barely 30 grams put together, just by a guess.

That was a mistake. Methinks this is completely intentional.

Oh, that's easy. Not only are the edges slightly thinner, but if you open up a variares it has loads of metal junk going on inside for the mechanism and screws as well as some parts that just ad weight, so they'll have removed all that.

To confirm what I said, would you be willing to take photos of it taken apart? If I get time I might do the same with my variares, but with the gimmick it's a pain to put back together, and I'd need to find my good screwdriver.
Yeah sure thing. I will do it now.
th!nk, I might be able to find a photograph of VariAres' internal part, so do not open yours yet, hah.
EDIT : Here you go, keep your VariAres safe :

In a way, perhaps Hasbro is really doing this to make sure that Metal Wheels are all within the same weight range to create a more homogeneous metagame, which is noble in a sense. However, that just means that everything is always going to be dominated by Basalt, Hell and BD145. The problem was before 4D, and now we can basically always recommend only Basalt Horogium and Hell Kerbecs to any Blader who would only have access to Hasbro Beyblades, no matter if a year has passed from now ...
That would be good, haha. I think Akirasdaddy opened his up for a video at one time.

That was my initial thought, but as you said, they released Basalt and Hell already. That said, basalt is weaker in a sense in hasbro stadia, because a few of them can prevent it making contact with opponents, so it can be outspun by earth and so on, or at least, some results showed that.

Technically, they could also be recommended Ray Striker for CS, haha. But yeah, it's pretty depressing that they're basically stuck for a year at least.
And Meteo L Drago and Killer Beafowl, but the point is that they are "old" releases now, hah.

Also, I edited my post with a link.
Thanks very much for that link, haha. As you can see, a lot of variares weight comes from the the stuff that supports it's mechanism. To be honest, hasbro probably could still have included the mechanism and just molded all of that stuff onto the plastic instead, but eh.

It's a little more sad because Zero G would have given Hasbro Bladers a chance to catch up had Hasbro released unmodified 4D beys, seeing as Zero G isn't likely to produce any new stamina types any time soon.
I am sure Hazel or someone will pounce on me for saying this, but I really don't know why Takara Tomy are okay with what Hasbro are doing... Personally, I wouldn't want to see my product being basically ruined for international markets...
AHAHA OH WOW. I'm starting to think they're trying to compensate for not releasing Metal System Escolpio.

Thanks for that, TriSix :3
Your welcome, it sure is disappointing. I hope I can get a gram scale soon to get it's official weight.

EDIT, Why the hell were there no stickers?
Darn, I was just beginning to think that Variares was the last salvageable release that Hasbro could make but no it's as thin or thinner Metal System Escolpio and considering it is still such an aggressive design I see many breaks in the future.

EDIT: Though with such widespread access to the Internet these days I also see a drop in Hasbro sales.

EDIT2: Does it still spin in both directions?
Man, Hasbro's Variares is so sad that it's a HUGE relief that I have a Sonokong Variares. All this time I was hoping it would be OK to buy but it had to be so light and thin. Metal Fury might be as bad as people thought when we found out about it.

I doubt the two companies converse only during World Championships, haha. Surely they do meetings. I don't think TT cares too much about Hasbro's tampering with the Beyblades. They're just letting them do their own little thing over here. Mainly beacuse they know countries outside of Asia (namely Canada and the US) will never have such a competitve Beyblade atmosphere. Hasbro versions were not meant for competitive play. So really the weights do not matter. Obviously if TT were to drop their weights, the whole population of Japan and the Phils would be in an uproar, since competitve gameplay is widely spread there. Here, only WBO members who value the competitive aspect will actually care. So basically, Hasbro is doing whatever floats their corporate boat.

OK, so atleast now I know I wasn't the only one thinking of this. Although I spoilerized it since I didn't think it was a legit reason Tongue_out

But like Dracomageat said, they could have done it on a case-by-case basis where they could have reduced the weights of some beyblades that could be over-dominating. -10g to everyone is unjustice.

Hm, what if to compensate they would make a 10g MF? That'd be unrealistically awesome, lol.

These are only the first few releases, hah. We don't know what could happen to others. Imagine a 25g Diablo. LOL, someone will storm into their office buliding asking what the hell they were thinking.

TL;DR: Don't lose too much sleep over these changes. Competitive play should always be invested in TT since they encourage it over there more.
doesn't hasbro come out with extra-ordinary beyblade products?like the beywheelz?they're so out-of-context products.i guess they want to over take hotwheels with this new species of beys.and the most disgusting part was using the beywheelz for stunts like jumping from a ramp!
and also the stealth beys-pegasus jumper and all that stuff!
also the destroyer dome stadium where beys spin for around 10 seconds or maybe even more.that stadium looks like one zero-g stadium upon another!
Let's stick to criticising them for things that actually warrant criticism, not new product lines which do nothing to harm the main line and are quite interesting and entertaining in their own right. A lot of people who have the pegasus jumper series beys seem to enjoy them quite a lot, so I fail to see how it is in anyway a bad move by hasbro.
well, pegasus jumper doesn't have any competitive value of any sort.it's for maybe those 8 year old kids who don't have any knowledge about competitive beyblade(not to criticize all 8 year olds-some might be smarter than me)
I really love my Tempo Hammer Hit. Spinning it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.

, What part of "DO ANYTHING TO MAKE MONEY HURR DURR" don't you get? Kids love things with gimmicks, parents are willing to buy these things, so Hasbro reserves the right to keep making them.

Hello there!

The WBO is volunteer run so that means we cannot send anyone to your specified region to host tournaments. Rather, we have given the ability to members to host tournaments in their regions.
Please looks under the "Official Events" sub-category to see if there are any tournaments near you. If not, you can host your own tournament. All you need is a legal Bey-Stadium and 8 confirmed participants. But before you create a proposal to host, read the following help sections and understand them thoroughly.

can't argue maybe with the gimmicks thing
yeah, but TT didn't come with such unusual and out- of-the-anime products anytime?

What are you trying to say/prove?

TT is already occupied with competitive play, they don't have time to do so.

Not many people in Japan would buy such things because they hold no competitive value. Here, people will buy "fun" things. Regardless of competitive value.
i'm trying to say that hasbro should have been focused on competitive play
has anyone seen a 4D bottom by hasbro?

You totally just missed the second post on this page. I refuse to reguritate the text.
maybe if they were away from inventing these gimmicks, they could have found a way of making good 4D bottoms instead of exchanging the parts like LW105LF instead of FConfused and W105R2F instead of FGrin
God knows what they'll do with diablo nemesis maybe they'll make it diablo nemesis 145WD?
or maybe they'll replace the diablo wheel with a fat version of the earth wheel?who knows!
