The store was kind enough to host our silly little tournament-- please support them by buying snacks/drinks! They also carry comics, boardgames, tabletop RPG stuff, and TCGs.

This is a WBO Beyblade X event using the Deck match type for both the First Stage and Final Stage. The stadium used will be the Takara Tomy Beyblade X stadium.

Scoring
To win a match, a Blader must score enough points (7) to meet the victory requirement of the Match Type being used. You score point(s) when:
  • The opposing Beyblade stops spinning. (1 Point)
  • The opposing Beyblade bursts. (2 Points)
  • The opposing Beyblade is knocked out. ( 2 to 3 Points)
    • If it is knocked out into an Over Zone, 2 Points.
    • If it is knocked out into an Xtreme Zone, 3 Points.
Match Type: Deck
  1. Deck Building
    1. Build up to 3 Beyblades with no repeating parts that will make up your deck for the match.
  2. Deck Presentation
    1. When ready, players declare they are "set" and present their deck to the judge in private
    2. Once inspected by the judge, both players turn around and present their Beyblades and launcher(s) to the opposing player.
  3. Initial Beyblade Selection
    1. Both bladers attach their first Beyblade in secret; the match begins as normal.
  4. Replays
    1. After each battle, the loser is asked if they want a replay.
      1. This bars both bladers from switching their Beyblade (or mode of their Beyblade) in the next battle.
      2. Replays do not alter the result of the previous battle; a loss is still a loss, and you can’t replay once you’ve lost the match.
  5. Switching Combos
    1. If a replay is declined, the loser of the previous battle may choose to have the judge rotate the Stadium 180 degrees to swap sides.
    2. Both bladers may freely select a Beyblade from their deck to use in the next battle.
    3. The winner of the previous battle must make their selection first, and then show that Beyblade to their opponent.
    4. The loser then may select any of the Beyblades in their deck to use for the next battle.
    5. Any mode changes should occur after both players have selected their Beyblades, taking place double blind if required.

Tournament System: Round Robin/Group Round Robin
Depending on the number of participants, we will be playing one of the following two formats:

Round Robin (8–11 players)
Every blader plays against every other blader once. The top four players advance to the final stage using Single Elimination

Group Round Robin (12–16 players)
Bladers are split into two evenly-sized groups and play against every other blader in their group. The top two players from each group advance to the final stage using Single Elimination.

Additional Ranked Clauses
Please be advised that this tournament will make use of the following Ranked Clauses in addition to, or in place of, rules listed in the Format Rulebook:

Out-of-Bounds ruled as Over Finish
  • Any Beyblade that goes out-of-bounds in this Tournament will be considered knocked-out instead. If a Beyblade is knocked-out in this manner, it will count as an Over Finish.
7 Point First Stage
  • First Stage Matches are played to 7 points for this Tournament.
Metal Needle Bit Ban
  • The following Bit may not be used in this tournament: Metal Needle

There was issues with Challonge?

It was my first time navigating Challonge, so excuse the confusion. Glad everyone for the most part had a good time.

Re: tiebreakers in Challonge, the way they were determined was by who among the two tied individuals won during their matchup in Round Robin. Explanation below:

“ Wins vs Tied Participants
This tie break looks at the match record between tied participants. For example, if Katherine and Dave are tied based on statistics but Katherine won when they played during the tournament, Katherine wins the tie break. When more than 2 participants are tied, they're ranked by the number of wins each one had against the others.”
