“Hello? Is anybody out there to hear my calls?†I ask to nothing.
“It was too late,†An unknown voice replies, “Everybody is gone,â€
I wake up, sweating. I notice that it was 7:00 AM. I get ready for school and leave. My name is Hana Minashigo. My parents died by being pushed into a subway station. That was Christmas morning. My life went down the depression hill right after. My grandparents tried to take care of me, but I turned down every offer, because I would only be a nuisance. Nobody ever liked me, not at all. Apparently, I was the “weird†girl in class. I wasn’t doing anything funny or wrong, I was only shy about others. They laughed about me and thought I couldn’t speak. Â
I start up the pathway to the school, looking at all of the leaves. I see pinks, greens, yellows, and browns. It was a fairly nice day. At the gates, I see a man, with brown hair. He looked weak, but I felt a Sense of power coming out of him.Â
“I will make it friends this year! I promise!†He exclaims
Who was he talking to? Me? No, it can’t be, he must be talking to an imaginary friend of his.
“This is my goodbye,†He adds.
I begin to speak.
“It isn’t hard to make friends,†I say nervously, “All you have to do is let people in to your inner feelings, I’m sure you could make a lot of friends like this.â€
He notices me.
“Thanks!†He replies.
I’m not the person who should be telling how to make friends. Better yet, I should try making friends myself. I walk into school to start my new freshman year.Â
The freshman ceremony was boring, but I got to see what I was class I was in. 1A, but that boy from earlier; I don’t know where he is. We all race out of the parish hall, and into the new school building. Everybody finally cleared out of the halls, and we started introducing ourselves.
I go first.
I stand up, and write my name.
“I am Hana Minashigo, I hope we can all be friends this year,†I say.
I sit down, and the person next was a girl, she seemed like she had an overwhelming aura.Â
“I am Hikui Dengen, I am the official class president, it is very nice meeting you all,†She says.
This goes on for hours and hours.Â
At the end of first period, we got to choose when our study halls were. Since I am very simpleminded and lazy, I chose the second period. I saw that Hikui did too. The bell rang, and we all flooded out of the class room, I make it up to the second floor, or the second year student’s territory. I heard a rumor that if you aren’t careful, you could get attacked. I explored around the floor a bit and keep my guard up. After a couple of turns, I got lost.Â
“That long hair, I notice that anywhere…â€Â
I hear that very faintly.
“You must be Hana,â€Â
The voice was getting closer.
I turn around see a guy, he had brown hair with spikey bangs and spiked parts coming out of the side.
“Tch, I thought you would be taller,†He says.
I get more and more afraid, and it starts to show too. He keeps rambling on about me and how I look and things, which I guess is normal guy behavior, I ignore it all though. But one line caught me off guard.
“So, do you what to join the Newspaper club, we are remaking it since the seniors left!â€
He exclaims.
“Who are you first?†I ask.
“Oh, yeah, I am Iwa Dengen,†He replies.
My brain took a while to process that little piece of information.Â
“Dengen, so, you are Hikui’s brother†I shoot back.
“Yep,†He responds, “So, yes or no? I’ll bribe Hikui into it too!â€
“That doesn’t make it better, but why not?†I answer.
I guess this is my lucky year on making friends, I am not shy, why is this? Is it because I know another person is as shy as me?

I leave him, and I venture up to the third floor, and do the same, but nothing really was interesting was there. Eventually, I came to the balcony. I see him, the same guy from earlier. He was looking aimlessly at the ground.
“Damn this world, Damn it all,†He says angrily.
He jumps off the railing, and onto the ground. I was confused on what I saw. He wasn’t dead, nor injured I raced down to the second floor where the nurse’s office was, but she wasn’t there. I headed towards the nearest classroom, and barged in.
“This is an emergency!†I yell at the teacher.
“What kind?†He asks.
“A student jumped from the balcony!†I shoot back.
“What were you doing on the balcony, you aren’t allowed up there anyways,†He replies,†I’ll handle the situation, just come with me.â€
We race down to the courtyard and see him still lying there. He pushes himself off the ground and a puddle of blood is revealed.
“Why haven’t I died yet?†He asks himself.
He stands up, and sees me and the teacher. Cuts and bruises were exposed, and when he got up, he was limping. There was nothing but silence going on. We helped him onto an ambulance, but I hope home security doesn’t allow him to not come to school, because we need at least five members for this club. We have three down, two more to go. We walk back into the building when the bell rang. I head to my classroom for another 6 hours of nothing but lectures.
After school, it was club meeting time. I head to the newspaper room, and I was not surprised seeing Iwa. But the other person I saw was Mikui.
“Hana, you fell into this guy’s trap too?†She questions.
“Yeah, I guess,†I reply.
After regular sibling arguments, we all sit down, and discuss things. I brought up the topic of who was the group leader, and it was Iwa, as expected. Then, I bring up the topic of advertising the club.
“Should we put up signs?†I ask.
“Sure, I mean there is nothing stopping us,†Hikui replies.
“I’ll design it,†Iwa adds, “You two make copies.
After a while, we finally made 100 copies, and still had excess ink. I went around, putting the signs up everywhere. Well, long story short, we all left after.
(The next morning)
I head to school, and see that all of the signs were removed. I head to my classroom, and before I sit down, the intercom boots up.
“Hana Minashigo, please go to the student council room,â€
I do what the principal told me, and when I entered the room, I saw the stacks of signs. The guy in the biggest chair starts speaking.
“Hana, a first year student,†He says while examining a paper, “You do realize you are violating rules right?â€
“No, I don’t, and I don’t believe this is fair,†I reply.
“Why not? Rules are rules,†He shoots back, “You could face suspension.â€
“Just let the club die, and let all of its memories die with it,†He adds.
The other council members agree. I walk out the door, and I bump into Iwa.
“What happened in there?†He asks.
“The council leader told me to let the club die, and all of its memories die with it,†I reply.
“Yes, there is a reason to this,†He shoots back.
“Really now?†I respond.
“Yeah, apparently, years ago, in the old school building, a whole bunch of second year and first year students in the newspaper club died, from the same person, of course,†He replies.

"Great!, the new issue is here!" I exclaim why taking it.
I view the pages and find an article on the murders of students on campus. A sketch is shown of a mask; like the one the clowns wear. One side was black with white details, and the other was the opposite. They also have a sketch on his/her hairstyle. This issue was colored, so I got to see that the color was brown. In the article, they mention the killer is about the age and height of an eighth grade student. And apparently, the person who were killed were members of the newspaper club too. A friend of mine in the newspaper club touches me in the back frightening me.
"Yo!" I greet him.
"Hey, you heard, right?" He replies.
I suddenly hear a rustle in the bushes. I look over and pass it off as nothing.
"Yeah, the editor and main writer died, right?" I respond.
"Apparently so, they died of gunshot wounds," He shoots back.
"Well, I have to go, see you later Iwa!" He adds.
"See you later, Dejitaru!" I yell back.
I head into my class room, 1-B. I take my seat and notice some people who want to be elected as president, I notice one particular student though, he seem well educated and smart; he also seemed like he knew how to make the right decisions. I will vote for him on election day. The teacher walks in, and everybody takes they're seats.
"Hello class," He announces, "You probably know about the campus murders, and we think one of the culprits is in this classroom."
"Are you sure?" One student calls out.
"Yeah!" Another yells.
I was in a rush to meet Dejitaru at the end of school, I literally passed off the conversation. After 5 more hours of school, I head to the news paper club room. I see everybody who is left in the club there.
"Are you Iwa?" A girl asks.
"Yeah, Dejitaru must have told I was coming," I reply.
We have a full on conversation until the end of the club meeting, and at the end, everybody left; except for Dejitaru and I. He started acting very strange about me.
"Iwa leave now," He says.
"Why?" I ask.
"Someone is coming, just leave!" He yells.
"I'm not le-"
I was cut off by the sliding door. I look over and see the person with the mask and same brown hair.
"It's too late," Dejitaru responds.
The strange man pulled out a gun, and aimed it at Dejitaru's head.
"Leave, now!" The man screams.
I hear his voice is more or less higher, like this kid was about to hit his growth spurt.
"Now I said!" He added.
He aims his gun at me, and fires. Dejitaru jumps in front of the bullet, and is hit in the chest where the heart is. He grasps his chest as if he couldn't breathe. I see Dejitaru collapse and die right in front of me. The kid jumps from the third floor window, and races away from the school, and at that moment, a teacher came in.
"So you are the killer!" He yells.

"What?!" I yell back.
"It's obvious, you are the only one here," He says back.
The teacher grabs me and calls the police, I look out the window, and see flashing lights, and I hear sirens. I get unstuck and race out of the classroom. The policemen are chasing me and telling me to get down. I take a right turn at an intersection and race down a corridor. A police helicopter flies by and shoots through the window and just misses me every bullet it shoots. After some time, I get to a staircase, and I jump down the floors, one by one.
At the first floor, I race out the school. Luckily nobody saw me. I race down the hill that is passed the courtyard. I ran passed the cherry blossoms and the gates. At the bottom of the hill, I don't go to my home, but instead towards the dorms. At the dorms, I run to the boy's dorm and I go to a specific dorm, Dejitaru's. In the dorm, I spend the rest of my day in there.
(The next day)
I wake up and walk out of the dorm, locking it. I forgot what had happened yesterday, but I end up going up the hill. I go into the building, and all conversations stop. I walk down the hallway, and people begin to gossip about how I am the "killer." I walk up the stairs, and go into my classroom. I sit my stuff down, and before I can sit down, I am called into the hallway. I see the principal.
"So..." She says, "You are the killer?"
"No," I reply.
"Come on, tell me!" She yells back.
"I didn't do it, do I have awkward brown hair?" I reply.
"Yeah, you do," She answers.
The home security come behind me, and blindfold me, and put me in a truck. When the truck stopped, they pulled me out, and put me in some metal cell. They take off my blindfold, and I realize, that I am all alone in a jail cell.
"It's obvious, you are the only one here," He says back.

After the Council incident, I walk towards the roof of the building. At the top, I see a girl, with long grayish hair, looking off to the distance.
"Hello?" I ask.
She turns around and nods like she is asking something.
"Uh-m, are you in any clubs?" I ask again.
She nods her head like she is saying no.
"Then, would you like to join the newspaper club?" I ask finally.
She nods her head up and down. I journey off back to the first floor to waste time until the end of the school day. I enter the classroom, unknowingly interrupting the class.
I ask the teacher, "Am I being too intruding?"
"Maybe," He replies.
The class starts cracking up. I get embarrassed, but I shake it off and sit down.
(5 long hours later)
I head towards the club room only to see Iwa and Hikui there.
"Yo!" I say casually.
"Hey, I just invited someone," Iwa and I say simultaneously.
The sliding doors slam open, and I see the girl I invited, and some boy I don't know.
"Meet Gin," Iwa says.
"Meet, err, what is your name again?" I respond.
Thus creates an awkward moment of silence.
"Anyways," I say while trying to change the subject.
I hear something faint as I say that though.
"My name is Yoru,"
We all stop speaking, and we hear the small voice again.
"My name is Yoru,"
"Welcome Yoru!" Iwa yells out of nowhere.
After an hour, the topic of the adviser comes up.
"So, we need an adviser," Iwa brings up.
"Like who, Mr. Horishima?" I reply jokingly.
"Exactly like Mr. Horishima," Iwa shoots back.
We all flood into Mr. Horishima's classroom, only to not find him. We then look into the music room, where the chorus club meets up. We find him there. Three girls stand there confused. They all seemed very different.
One had yellow eyes, with green hair.
Another with black long hair, with hazel eyes.
the next one had white hair, with yellow eyes again.
"Yo, Mr. Horishima!" Iwa calls out.
"Hello?" I ask.

"I am the adviser to this club," Horishima replies.
"You can dual advise then, right?" I ask.
"No," He responds.
"Who made up that rule then?" Iwa asks.
"The student council," Horishima shoots back.
We all leave the room in disappointment. We leave the school, and part our separate ways.
(The next day)
I drop my stuff off at my homeroom, and walk towards the council. I enter the room abruptly.
"What do you want?" The president asks with more rudeness than mine.
"Why can't teachers dual advise?" I ask angrily.
"Isn't it obvious?" he replies.
"No," I shoot back.
"Well, it's mediocre for starters, and two, the teachers don't have a lot of time on their hands," He responds.
He commands me to leave, and I do so. I sit and wait for another seven hours, thinking of a plan to boot the president out. Until I learned that the re-election is coming up. I can boot him out from there. But unfortunately, I have no presidential skills, and I don't want to be locked in a dark room, with 5 people I don't even know.
I march out of the classroom, looking at all of the re-election posters. Each hallway is dedicated to a different candidate. I look at each different candidate, and only one showed actual knowledge. That candidate's name is Tia Naku. I hold all of this information in my head until I get to the club room. I see Iwa, Yoru, Hikui, and Gin there, sitting at a table, with a piece of paper full of plans.
"Yo," Iwa says.
"Hey," I reply.
"What are we doing here?" I add.
"We are planning to take down the council," Iwa responds.
"I already have a plan," I shoot back.
"What is it?" Everybody else asks.
"We need to get on Tia Naku's good side," I reply.
"Tch, why?" Gin asks rudely.
"She is a candidate for the election, so, she could let us dual advise!" I scream in joy.
"She is a carp though," Gin says.
"Gin," Iwa shoots back.
Gin moves his eyes towards Iwa's direction.
"What?" Gin asks.
"Shut up," Iwa replies.
"Yeah," everybody agrees.
"I am the adviser to this club," Horishima replies.

We finish our meeting, and leave the building. But on the way out, I see a shadow run by a hallway. I walk down the hallway, continuing to see the shadow. The shadow leads me to a specific room. The room was dark and gloomy, and it had only one thing within it.
A locker.
I see the shadow again, opening the locker. But what I saw inside was a fright. Torture devices, guns, chains, and every other thing you would find in a horror movie. But what I saw that grossed me out the most, was a person's body. The body was mangled, it had intestines removed, and the throat was split opened. In the person's hand, was his or her's vocal chords. I couldn't tell the person's gender due to how broken the body was. The shadow removed the corpse, and turned around. The shadow was indeed no shadow, instead, it was the boy from the beginning of the year
"Do you want to know who this is?" He asks.
"Sure," I say nervously.
"This person is the main writer for the newspaper club," He replies.
"Uhm, would if I told about this dark truth?" I question.
"You will receive the same fate, but worse," He replies.
"Your body won't even exist, first I will shoot you in the head, then I will mangle your body, and remove all of your organs!" He adds.
"Your body won't even be noticable!" He screams, "I call this, the alice killings!"
I thought about this, and remembered back then, there were murders of 5 people. They were killed, and what was left was only a card, a playing card, that said alice. I knew what I had gotten myself into. And I couldn't go back. I could tell nobody, and all I could see was this sight.
"By the way, your buddies will be killed too!" He yells.
That was it for me.
"Damn you!!!!" I call out.
I race towards him and start beating him up.
"How lonely I am, Oh so lonely!"
I hear this faintly.
"Come on, we are the same, and only us know this!" He yells.
I leave enraged, and never told about this day again.

I wake up, to find myself early. I take a nice long shower, and before I know it, I am already out the door. I had completely forgot what had happened yesterday. I was already at the hill. I see Tia there, sitting on a bench. She seemed down. I wondered why, because she was winning the election. I walk towards her, and sit down next to her.
"Tia, what's wrong?" I ask.
"Today," She says sadly, "Is the Anniversary, of my Older brother's death."
"I feel for you sis, my parents died when I was only seven!" I replied, "Anyways, could you mind telling who he was?"
"He was Shurui Naki, he was a headstrong man, he had black, flowing hair, and he was the main writer for the newspaper club! He also was a singer, he had an amazing voice. He helped everyone, he brought me out of sad times. He was the best!" She exclaims," But he had died, last year. He was a senior, and I was a junior. When we were about to split paths, he said he had left something in the club room. That night, he didn't come home. Eventually, we all grew worried, and filed a missing person's report. He was never found, but in the club room, we found a used bullet, a pile of blood, and a card. All of the evidence was destroyed."
I thought about it, and realized that the main writer was the dead person, in the locker. The bells rung, and we headed towards school. Today, I decided I would confront that kid from yesterday. I sat through the first period, so that I could get my study hall. I went to the same room, and saw the crazed man.
"So has the little princess given up?!" He asks crazily.
"Given up on what?" I reply.
"Life," He shoots back.
"No, but I came here to confront you," I respond.
"For what?" He questions.
"The death of Shurui Naku!" I exclaim.
"So you are now little miss detective huh?" He replies.
"How'd you find out he was the main writer?" He adds.
"I met Tia today," I say, "You killed him on this day, last year!"
"Yup, he was indeed a fun person to murder!" he responds.
"Hmph, it is the end of my study hall, I guess I will see you later," I reply.

"So, where is Hana? I ask my club mates.
"Dunno," Everbody replies.
I decided we could start without her. I grab a piece of paper, and we all discussed about getting on Tia's good side. It was indeed a great day. We all left. Iwa and I headed towards the subway station. We bought our tickets, and waited.
(Iwa's POV)
It was long before the train came, so I went to the bathroom. When I cam back, I saw Hikui flying into the tracks, while she was grasping a metal pole. I looked over and saw the train was coming fast. It skidded across the tracks, and it hit Hikui.
"Hikiui!!" I yelled as I raced towards the train.
All that was left, was a mangled body, and a hand. I couldn't take it anymore. I looked over and saw a student, he was a freshman. I sobbed there, and decided not to go home. But I roamed the city aimlessly. I searched for the highest building, and that happened to be the school, I entered a deep depression, and all I could do was end what my life was. I got to the balcony, about to jump, but I was stopped.
"Iwa!!" A small voice calls out.
I look over and see Hana. She pulls me off the fence. I shoved her away, and climbed the fence again.
"Iwa what are you doing?!" She asks.
"Hi-Hikui, she died," I replied.
She looked astonished, but she had a sense of mind who it killed her.
"It's okay if a loved one has died! Look at me! My whole family is dead! Am I sobbing?" She asks.
I come to my senses, and climb down the fence.
"How?" I ask, "How are you fine, after the death of your whole family?"
"I had the courage to move on," She replied, "I know you can too."
She hugged me. I said thanks to her, and dragged myself home, and when I entered, my mom was standing there, with a happy smile.
"Your late!" She says happily.
"Yeah, I know," I shoot back.
"Where is Hikui?"
"She-She is dead," I say sadly.
My mom's happy smile turned into a frown. She left the house. I don't know where she went though.
"Dunno," Everbody replies.

Spoiler (Click to View)
I wake up early again, and leave early again. I don't see Tia this time around, so I wait around. Before I know it, a car comes speeding down the road, and it eventually hits me. I fly off, and hit my head. Unfortunately what happened afterwards was no longer existent. I wake up in a hospital. I remember nothing form the pass three days. I only remember the few fragments that are important to me, the club, my friends, my family's death, and Tia. I am visited by the club members.
"Yo," Everybody greets.
"Hello!" I reply.
"They told us your memory was erased, so we came here to fill you in on what you forgot," Iwa responds.
"I remember the biggies, no worries!" I say back.
"Anyways, we will hope to see you after school!"
That was what I last heard before I was sent to sleep.
(In the dream)
"What did you do to everybody?" I ask.
"I killed them!" The voice replies.
I woke up, only to find the club members again, at night.
"Guess what?" Iwa asks.
"Did we get on Tia's good side?" I reply.
"Yes, we asked her, and she said she would make the changes if she becomes president!" He exclaims.
They leave after an hour, and I eat my dinner. I watch TV, and random commercials, shows and other things sprawl on the screen. The rest of the day was pretty average.
(The next day)
I was discharged, and I couldn't go to school yet, so I roamed the city, since I haven't went around the whole city yet. I still don't remember things from the last 3 days.
"I have a slight feeling of anger," I whisper to myself.

I get bored, and go home.
(The next day)
I wake up, and go to school. I see people walking around with signs yelling about who to vote. I already know it is voting period. There are long lines that lead into a booth. I go to my homeroom, set my stuff down, and head to a booth. Apparently, while I was in the hospital, the two final candidates are Tia and the old president.
All of the others in my club are voting as well. When I get into the booth, I fill out a form, and vote for Tia. We all meet up, and start conversing.
"Did everybody vote for Tia?" I ask.
"Yeah," Everybody replies.
"Alright, she should win!" Iwa exclaims.
We all split up, and go to our homerooms. This school day seemed longer, but it would be worth it if the results come at the end of the day. Fortunately, it did. All of the students crowded around one paper in a hallway, which had the results. Some of them were happy, some of them were sad. We got the news, and headed to our club room. We sat down, and celebrated the win for Tia.
"Alright!" And other calls like that were mostly said that day.
(The next day)
I wake up, for a big day ahead of me, and walk to school. On the way, I meet Tia.
"Yo Tia!" I call out.
She turns around and notices me.
"Yeah?" She asks.
"I know what you can do for your first change!" I say.
"You should let teachers dual advise!" I add.

"What?!" She asked.
"It means exactly what I said," I reply.
"Not that, but why?" She asks again.
"All clubs have advisers, and all the teachers are advising. We are left with no teachers," I respond.
"I guess I could," She replied.
We walked into school. I wait for 7 hours, just to meet Tia again. I walk to the council room.
"Yo!" I announce.
Everybody looks towards my direction, silently.
"Am I being too intruding" I ask.
I walk out, and walk back in.
"Hello," I say.
"Yeah?" They all ask.
I quickly notice Tia isn't there. She sneaks up behind me and scares me.
"HAEGH!" I scream.
"Hana, what are you doing here?" She asks.
"Have you finished the changes yet?" I reply.
"Yesurre!" She responds.
"Great!" I shoot back.
I run back to the club room, and run into a large mass, that felt like a suit. I stand up, and see it is Mr. Horishima.
"Are you okay?" He asks.
"Yeah," I reply.
"Well, I am advising here too," He says, "You can finally make your first issue!"
We worked on our issue all night, and we were finally ready to hand it out. It included the changes to the rules, and had covered the death of Hikui. We had a column based on questions that I answer. And we covered sports teams. Our newspaper was called "IIevan's News." Honestly, it was great.

I had seen that the first issue had done really well. People were giving me reviews and tips. I know we finally accomplished something in this broken messed up year.

Spoiler (Click to View)
The first issue was great. Everything calmed down, and we had a normal year. Hell, I almost forgot about Hikui. Finally, I was one month away from the end of the year.
(May 4)
I woke up. The sun glared in my eyes. I get up, feeling more tired than usual. I get dressed. Thinking back, this year was most likely the most fun year I had. I look out the window, and see a man. He is probably a senior, he had brown hair, and was wearing a bright blue school uniform. I could not see his face. But after I noticed him, he let out a sinister smile.
I pass it off as nothing and head to school.
"May, what a boring month," I say to myself.
Knowing I won't have close to no interactions with the club, I was half depressed.
"At least have something happen," I whisper.
At the top of the hill, I see the man again, resting on a pillar where the gate attaches to. He looked down, and I still couldn't see his face. He looks up. He leaves behind a dark grin.
I get petrified for a second.
"Why hello Hana," He calls out.
"Uh-h who are you?" I ask.
"I am Agito," He replies, "I am here to end your life, for my brother."
"What did I do?!" I scream out.
He looks content. He was seeming cool.
"I give no reason," He replies.
We walk up the hill. I felt a strange power looking down at me. The source was him. I knew I shouldn't have gotten involved with him. At school, I mention Agito to the others. They also told me not to get involved with him. They told me he had been arrested for claiming wrongful things. They also said his brother was not his actual brother.
(At the end of the day)
I was late for packing up. All of the lights were off. The door slams open. It was Agito. He had a machete with him. Following behind was Gin.
"Here take the machete, and choose who you wish to kill, Gin, or me," He says.

"Why would you give me a choice? I ask.
"Because both are negative, if you kill me, you will get arrested, or killed yourself," Agito replies.
He got me held up. I went to choose. I raced towards Agito and try to impale him, but failed. He shifted away, and grabbed the machete from me. He knocks me away, and stabs Gin in the stomach. He coughs up crimson blood, and crashes over onto a desk.
"Hana," Gin says sickly, "Run."
I got up and ran as fast as I could. Knowing nothing of what happened next.
(The next day)
I woke up, and directly turned on the TV. They said that a highschool freshman student is in critical condition. I could only know that was Gin. I knew I had to go to the hospital today. I got dressed and left for the hospital. I entered Gin's room.
"I'm sorry," I said to him.
"It's alright," Gin replied, "Stuff like this happens."
"Besides, we still have another 3 years left," He adds.
The end.
