Almight wins? How?! Is it meant as a sandbagging combo?
[quote pid='1814790' dateline='1645407705']
It didn’t do too well today honestly. It works better in DB stadium.

The idea behind it is that with a decently fast controlled light launch (fast enough to have movement but not activate the overdrive system) it can work as a heavy hitting equalizer with knockout potential against opposite spin. Against same spin…. not so much. It is very situational.

I thought Drift better for spin equalising? Nvm, I hope to see more of such results like that one pachirisu during VGC.

For my first fully fledged host on my home turf it went rather smoothly, even if my own brother took second place over top of my very head. Even funnier that Lionheart' and --- are father and son, so it came down to two brothers and a father/son pair for the final stage. That doesn't happen every day.

For someone that hasn't touched a Beyblade launcher in nearly a decade though, I'm proud of how far my brother came. --- showed him how to control his Guilty combo I loaned to him, and it really became his go-to combo for the first stage. Heck, pure Attack was really common in the first stage here, mostly on pure rubber tipped varieties including Hunter', Xtreme', Quick', and Xceed'+Z. Never was also a fairly common sight among the top contenders, and one user even managed on making Greatest Raphael Wheel Moment into a threatening force.

That combo in particular caused a bit of a kerfluffle, after it landed in the stadium and them immediately chucked the opponent out of the top of the stadium and onto the floor beyond. If you remember that gif of Zwei chucking Balkesh B3 out of the stadium, it was basically that.

Sadly the point didn't count because I launched too soon, but it was still a big hit and an exciting moment.

It’s the echo fighter of Xtreme,
Yeah. I preferred Hunter' for the added control, and the slight Stamina advantage over Xtreme' in mirror matches.
Ok, it’s funny how literally every page on the wiki be like, if you are not Xtreme, you suck for attack!

Now that's a WC list I can get behind. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like stamina/lad etc really does struggle a lot more when Guilty On Rubber is lurking behind every corner? Or if nothing else, it shows that Guilty X'/Qc' really is capable of what it does in testing while out in the field. Smile

Congrats on your first home turf host! Sounds like a great time.

This proved quite strong in testing a week prior, and was certainly knocking things away. It was a pleasant surprise.

The electronic drivers have amazing same spin and decent opposite, and they're the right weight for GT. There's a reason they are banned from Limited.

I'm most surprised by the lack of rubber tipped attack personally.

I agree. Electric drivers have insane same spin, and if paired with the right layer they can tie with bearing and Xt+ but they don’t beat them in opposite spin. Plus their height reduces layer to layer contact and helps with KO defense.

There were a lot of people using judgement, but it was a bit disappointing to not see Zwei or imperial. I saw imperial 2 times and Zwei I only saw 1 time. Rubber tips weren’t used too much besides me in the first round and I think primeburst used judgement Diabolos vanguard xtreme’? But the tips were destroy’, reboot’, and the rest I forget. The tips seemed to be just what the Blader using judgement felt comfortable with.

That sounds about right for your group, but I am sure Killerphantom also played judgment on rubber flat.  He switched around tho I think?  Bc he also played judgment.Shot in 1-2 matches at least.  My group, I used Judgment X’ and at least saw 1 more judgment and 1 more Zwei on some type of rubber flat that I can no longer remember.

Yeah he switched it up. He only used judgement vanguard xtreme’ I think 3 times? I played against his Judgement on Shot, I think you judged that match with me and him. And as for your deck, I didn’t see what you were using but you said you used almost the same thing as Mitchjett but with SK layers? You mentioned to me Abyss bursted and I saw you using curse solomon on Ig’ one e. Was your deck Abyss on Hybrid, Curse Solomon on Ig’, and Master Wh(H)Xt+? Mitchjett used Master Spriggan Wh(H)Xt+ for about 4 matches I think, but it wasn’t on the winning combos list. Did you not see him use it, or was it just by accident that it wasn’t written? And I really do think we all overestimated the SK layers abilities. It may even be to the point that we don’t need to ban any, or even ban chips Like Solomon or Lucifer 2.

I never played my deck without abyss and curse for the whole event and that was on purpose.  The 3rd bey I used Judgment X’ (4), Master.Xt+(2), pP.Vl (1) out of the 7 rounds iirc.

Mitchjett only played master in 2 rounds, this I am positive.  After losing with it he lost confidence and only played imperial.Ds’.  I do not believe Mitchjett won with Master at all, this is according to him, so it wouldn’t make the list per how the winning combo list works.  There might have been a round that master was in Mitchjett’s deck but didn’t see play.  I just know that he was not happy with it at all.  No matter what it couldn’t have been 4 rounds as he played you in round 3 and lost to you.  Master losing each time it came up.  He switched completely off Master after that.

And of course I can’t see ever match.  I have to run the event and judge at times.  I have to rely on what people tell me they played.

Ah, makes sense. Unranked events are the perfect time to try new things, and especially in this case since it’s the first BGT tournament in general. And I think I remember seeing Master win against one of Plinkplinks combos when Mitchjett used it? But I’m likely remembering that wrong. And cross was an interesting choice for imperial when Mitchjett switched to it. When I saw it, I thought the frame was under because it looked like it was pink from a distance.

I can only go by what I am told so I can’t be certain.  Judging and working the brackets actually make it so that I generally see less than everyone else.  All I know is Mitchjett was very unhappy with Master and said it only lost.  He could have misremembered too.

And no that is my mistake, it’s not cross, it’s expand.

Out of pure curiosity is the Wh in the combos you’re talking about suppose to be Wheel?
