Where were you on 9/11?

As most, if not all of you know, the 10th anniversary of 9/11 is coming up on Sunday. If you don't know what 9/11 is, get up from under your rock and look it up. Tongue_out

But, where were you on 9/11? I was in preschool or child care, and I was two years old according to my mother. The teachers were aware of the attack, but obviously didn't tell us. We were too young to understand.

Also, don't just say 'I was at my house', add some more content, like anywhere else you post.

Little kiddio at school, they started putting up flags, and the administrators wouldn't let our TV's be on because they didn't want anyone in school to see it (it's the system).

I was two. i was at my first home. i of course do not remember a thing. but my dad said he was getting ready for work, i was most likely playing with toys or whatever. he said he was watching the news with shock and disbelief.
I think this topic is too specific. Maybe it should be broadened to a discussion of National Tragedies?

Anyway, I was in sixth grade. I found out like, 30 minutes after it happened because the teachers felt a need to tell us since most of us have families who live in the city.

The first thought that came to mind was "doesn't this always happen to the US?"
At home i was like 5 months old (maybe older maybe a year) So i don't really remember anything Speechless
I was 3 years old. I was living in Chicago, and was packing for my move to Charlotte, NC. I really have no idea what happened, and I didn't even know what 9/11 was until like 3rd grade...

I heard somewhere, and I doubt this is true, but it could be, that there are three terrorists in America, driving trucks of some kind with explosives (bombs), and that they are heading towards New York City or Washington D.C.
Supposedly it has been on the news, but I don't watch the news.

It was a rumour that among the chaos, was thought to be true for some time, but it wasn't.
I was like, 4 I believe, my mom rushed to pick me up from Pre-K and she was all like, NO WAY, NO WAY, And she was like all sad too, I was like, BUBBLES, but this is a serious matter, I was entirely clueless, my 4 year old mind could not process it, but at a point of the day, I understood something bad happened, I thought my mom was crying for no reason, honestly was, so I made her a card out of paper and she kinda stopped crying. Reason she was crying, She has relatives there... So she was worried, turns out, they were fine. Thank goodness.

EDIT: SO MANY COMMAS Chocked_2
it was 3 days after my 8th birthday and my parents took me to disney world in florida and all of a sudden we were being evacuated from the park and my parents were litterally dragging us back to the hotel i remember bits and pieces of that day but not everything all i remember was being scared cause everyone was running around screaming (my guess looking for their families?)
Hope the rest of you Vaca was fun, Disney World is a fun place, and I hope you didn't miss out on the rest. And that must have been a REALLY scary experience for you.

like i said i dont remember much considering i was 8 yrs old at the time but i do remember having alot of fun before that and when it rained so hard it literally hurt to stand under it Smile Tongue_out
and when the park (owners?) had all the disney characters come to the hotels for pics and autographs lol

I was in Preschool(2 yrs old) when it happened,I didn't know about it till 4th grade,my first thought, was I hated terrorist.
I was at home, and my mom suddenly got really scared. She later told me my dad was in LA and he drove all of the way back home with some guys from his work. ALL THE WAY BACK TO CT FROM LA. The cops understood a lot of people were just trying to get home to see their kids, so they didn't stop anyone for speeding.
I was 2 at the time. All I remember was being at my house and seeing the TV with a picture of the plane crashing into the twin Towers. But I hear there building a new building on the same spot and the tower will have stone in the middle so if the try to crash into it they won't be able too and self-destruct themselves.

Well considering it's pretty much impossible to get on a plane with any kind of weapon or blade (they used box cutters to hijack them) and that security has pretty much quintupled since 9/11, I doubt they'd attempt to hijack planes...
I was 4 years old at the time, and I really can't remember anything past pre-school, but I remember faintly, leaving pre-school early for some reason I couldn't understand, which obviously was 9/11. I remember saying "But we didn't eat lunch!" and that is the farthest back my memory went. I can't remember anything before that.

I remember we had a thread like this last year that was closed because although the even was indeed tragic, it was indeed very close to political discussion as in last year's thread. Although this is somewhat different from last years thread, some heated political discussion could spark quickly.

It is just best to keep the ones who have lost their lives in your mind, but unfortunately this thread must be closed.
