About the WBO

WEAPON X TOURNAMENT

Welcome To My First (X)perimental Tournament!
Seattle Beyblade will be using this event as a means of feedback for how we run our events going forward.
Please keep an open mind and give us feedback during and after this event!

Here are some of the things this event will be testing:

Set Deck
For the Final Stage, Players will play WBO Deck Format to 7 Points Win Condition.
After the people progressing to finals are determined at the end of the First Stage, they will submit their Deck of 3 Beys they must use for all Finals Matches to the Organizer before Final Stage begins.

These will be handwritten so judges know exactly what combos they are using so no cheating via part swaps can happen in-between matches.
In order to reduce "scouting", if the organizer or judges of the event make it to Final Stage, their combo submissions must be made before other players, to a neutral third party (like an organizer who did not make it to finals)

Best of 3
A new format that is legal in the rulebook, played primarily in Maryland.
Bladers play their matches in "Sets", and the winner needs two full match wins against another player.
The stadium side will be swapped according to the Loser of the first Set.

In my event this will be used for a more definitive answer in the Finals Match, and the 3rd Place TB Match ONLY.

Own Finish Toggle between Stages
A new option in the WBO rulebook allows for players in first stage to play with Own Finish turned on (where self KOs will only lose you one point if both Beys do not make contact with each other) for one stage or the other.

In this event, we will be using Own Finish only in the First Stage, and "taking off the training wheels" in Finals.

Direct Launch into Over/Xtreme Ruled as "Own Finish"
For the Final Stage, 'Own Finish' ruling will be considered as toggled "off", however, Own Finishes which are shot directly into any pocket will be considered a point to the opponent.

This is something our area came up with in our recent community poll as a preference.

Point Value Reductions
This is the way the middle Ohio scene has been playing, and feels more in line with Legacy Formats (Plastics-Burst).

Xtreme Finish will be reduced to 2 Points
Over Finish will be reduced to 1 Point
Match Win Condition will be set as First to 5 Points

Final Stage will be WBO Deck and First to 7 Points, but we will still be using this rule to give the event consistency throughout both stages.

Location Details
We will meet in the main Sanctuary.
Bring a jacket as it may be cold inside the room!
We will start ASAP after the Limited Event wraps up at 1:30PM, so make sure you’re ready to go and have your Beyblades and strategies in place by the end of the countdown.
Bladers arriving after 1:20PM will not be able to participate.
Use the #im-on-my-way channel in the Seattle Beyblade Discord and keep us updated on your ETA!
There is a second trial run of our X Limited Format Event right before this tournament!
Please sign up for both if possible!
We urge players to stay at the venue and not leave in-between events so they can be completed by 6:00PM.
There will be a potluck and various food from the previous event.
Be sure to take care of food waste and dishes if you eat anything.
Ask before consuming if allergies are an issue!

Optional Rules

Own finish
  • When you score an Xtreme finish or over finish against a Bey that did not touch your Bey during the battle, it is considered an own finish instead.
  • When you score an own finish, you receive 1 point. Then, the battle is replayed.
  • This optional rule can be applied to individual stages of the event.
Locked Bey list
  • Before the start of each stage of the tournament, you must submit a Bey list to the tournament organizer.
  • A Bey list is a written list of complete Bey combinations (e.g. DranBrave S6-60V). The number of Beys that can be included in the Bey list depends on the match type:
    • 1on1: 1 to 3 Beys
    • 3on3: 3 to 5 Beys
    • WBO Deck and P3C1: 1 to 5 Beys
  • During Bey selection, you may only select Beys from your Bey list for that stage of the tournament.
  • Between sets during a best-of-3 match, you may select any Bey from your Bey list during Bey selection.
  • Multiple copies of the same part can be included in a Bey list, but multiple copies of the same part cannot be selected during Bey selection.

Out-of-bounds over finish
  • If the opposing Bey leaves the battle area through the launch area and becomes out-of-play, instead of voiding the battle, it will be considered as scoring an over finish.

Loser selects position after battle
  • After each battle within a set, the loser of the previous battle chooses their launch position.
  • In a WBO deck match, this does not apply if the next battle is a replay.

Community Need To Knows:

Please use common sense hygiene rules and wear deodorant. Preferably, take a shower prior to the event!
We will be using a private church while for this double header event, and no one wants to smell a stinky blader!
Words

Feel free to bring any stadiums you would like for the free play area on the side, but make sure you pay attention and are ready when called for your matches.
Tournament matches always take priority over free play. Smile

Please let the organizers of the event know if anything happens during your matches with a judging call as soon as possible so we can clarify any issues or rectify any mistakes as we go!

Honesty and transparency is key, and we strive to do our best for you guys.

And once again if you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us on the Seattle Beyblade Discord. We are happy to help!
