Just curious, who won this tournament? This tournament was fun especially battling Deikailo first round!
Hi everyone! We have an indoor venue again for January's tournament:
Ataque de Año Nuevo (roughly... "New Year's Attack" in Spanish)
Please note that the location for this month's tournament is in Washington, DC - not Silver Spring. After nearly 2 months of searching and receiving price quotes from various schools, community centers, hotels, etc. this is the only option that I can reasonably afford - so this is where we are going to be until the Spring.
The Marriott Wardman Park Hotel is located about 100 yards west of Connecticut Avenue on Woodley Road. Parking in the surrounding neighborhoods can sometimes be challenging due to the close proximity of the National Zoo, so please plan to either arrive early to find free parking, arrive whenever and pay for parking, or take the DC Metro Red Line to the Woodley Park / National Zoo station and a very short walk to the hotel.

Location: The Marriott Wardman Park Hotel: 2660 Woodley Road NW · Washington, DC 20008 (We will be in the McKinley Room) https://www.marriott.com/hotels/maps/tra...dman-park/

Start time: 12:30-ish
Surface: Carpet!
Fees: $5 Room Fee + Standard WBO fees: $5 entry fee or $10 for a Blader Passport that gives you free tournaments for a year

What combos placed in this event?
Guys, this is kind of an emergency, I tried contacting Dakota (Galaxy4Stars) and he hasn't answered. Yet, his dad Joe, called me like 5 minutes ago and said Dakota wasn't home. By any chance does anyone know where he went after the tournament?
We ended up leaving late (6:15) because Galaxy4Stars stayed behind to help clean up.
Metro service is running slow today because of snow/ice, so my assumption would be that he is inaccessible because there is no cell phone service in the Metro system for anyone but Verizon.
I've sent a text as well, so hopefully we'll hear back from him soon.

Ahhh I see, that would explain it. Thanks for the info.
EDIT: His parents called and he's safely home.

Good to hear. Sent a couple of us into a bit of a skitter.
Blah slow metro service... Even 1 station is closed and I like few stations away to my bus..
Lol dude I was worried about you, I mean, you're a text freak and you reply to my text just like that. I was like "What? Really Dakota? Hmm lemme text him or maybe he's chilling with Deikailo after wards". -sends text- 10 min later no reply!
Hazel, yah it was a relief to me. Cannot afford to lose my best friend ;_;
S/o to the kids that wanetd to play YuGiOh with us, make sure you bring your cards next time and we'll duel for sure! Maybe a tag team? Hah. . . . . till next time.

Congratulations everyone! Ataque de Año Nuevo was a big success with 30 bladers who braved the snow to come out and compete in our Nation's Capitol - including Deikailo and Sniper from NYC, and othellog from the hinterlands of Virginia!
Here are the official results...
1st place: othellog
2nd place: Nerfblader721
3rd place: Arupaeo
4th place: Galaxy4Stars
Thank you everyone for coming out with strong bey spirit and great sportsmanship! And thank you to our judges, Galaxy4Stars, J o n, Tech, othellog and Deikailo!

What were the winning combos?
Oh man Arupaeo, I think you and othellog are the only related family members to be in the Top 10 after the tourney is processed! Overall this was a fun tourney; the frustrating part was when I used my VariAresCH120RF vs PhantomTH170D against nerfblader, he got saved so many times by the walls. like FUUUUu > but it was anxious and fun to watch though.
What ever combo's we used doesn't matter if we kicked carp Hazel.
Whether we release what combo's we used are up the top placing players are, not everybody has to know about peoples combos.
One more thing, an inside joke, I'm butter.

I am interested from a "keeping an eye on the metagame" standpoint... I am as entitled to ask as anyone else is to respond...
It is not as though there are many genuinely secret combos... the possibilities are quite finite. Plus, from a mindgames standpoint, if people think you are prone to one combo, you might have an advantage later... by deviating.

Hazel, at the level that I'm at 60% of the meta-game has to do with mind games.
The other 40% is getting the testing in to prove what combo's work for you and which don't. I don't ever rely on someone's combo to battle, I always do my own testing, which is just common sense in my opinion. I haven't read the competitive MFB combos thread for about a year, because there is no point for it in my mind(For Me), but it does help the other members, who do not necessary have time to do all the testing. But I'm sure that there are people who just believe that everything on that thread is completely right, not to say that it is not, but, sometimes your beyblade parts work differently then others, and I do not always get the same results as the thread suggests.
It isn't all about combos x__x I learned that the hard way. Had fun though! 2-2 record xD < INVINCIBLE.
so who took what prize?
By any chance has anyone seen a grip launcher with a black beylauncher L/R and a bey pointer attached to it? If so, please PM me and thanks.
