SUBWAY FROM MANHATTAN

Take the B or Q train to Kings Highway station. Use the main (Kings Hwy) exit. You will be on Kings Highway, between East 15th and East 16th street. Make a left and walk to the corner, then make another left onto East 15th Street. We are the second building from the corner.

DRIVING IN:
For those driving from Long Island, Staten Island, or New Jersey, take Belt Parkway to the Coney Island Avenue exit. Drive down Coney Island Avenue to Avenue R and make a right. Then make a left onto East 15th Street. Our building is toward the end of the block on your right hand side. To get to Belt Parkway from New Jersey/Staten Island, cross the Verrazzano Bridge.

PARKING:
Kings Highway is a very popular shopping area, with parking always somewhat of an issue. There is a parking garage between East 13 and East 14th Streets, between Kings Hwy and Avenue R (1-2 minute walk from the store). Metered parking (1 hour limit) is available in front of the store and on Kings Hwy. If you are willing to walk 1-2 blocks, you should be able to find meter-free parking on

THERE IS A MANDATORY $5 VENUE FEE
ALL PLAYERS MUST ARRIVE ON TIME: If you do not arrive at the scheduled start time, you risk being excluded from the tournament. The software we use to run our events–Challonge–does not allow us to add in extra participants once the tournament has started.

If you know in advance that you will be late, please post in this thread or contact someone at the event and depending on the circumstances we can perhaps still include you if we know you will arrive soon.

This will be a burst format tournament! Please look over the current parts restrictions list to make sure all parts are legal.[/size]

I don't think you understand this entirely. Sniper was heavily understaffed for this tournament yet it's really stressful to handle 74-78 people with just 2-3 judges through out the tournament. If you don't want to play on here again fine that's your choice. That'll be much more convenient for my best man Sniper in future tournaments. Plus, you won't find anything better to get together like this off site.
On other note, The last part of all the capitalization is completely rude. You have to respect him for doing the best of his ability. He's also extremely exhausted from my 75 people tournament here in Maryland yesterday.

Hey Megahero!

Sorry to hear about your poor tournament experience. As the Committee, we take reports like this very seriously and look into dissatisfaction like this alongside our volunteer organisers.

Unfortunately in this case, attendance for this defied organiser expectations, and this event ended up being the event with the most participants that the WBO has ever held. As you can imagine, the event was understaffed as a result. Asides from Sniper as the host, there was one other judge as there were no other volunteers for judging.

The WBO is very dependent on our volunteer organisers and judges to make events happen worldwide and, in this case, unfortunately not much more could be done. Our staff aren't paid, do it out of their own spare time and effort and for the love of competing. Two people managing an event with 78 kids is completely unrealistic, and we'll be working with Sniper and the rest of the community here to see what more we can do to prevent situations like this from happening. We don't like having our organisers shorthanded after all, but it's really not their fault. This was just an unfortunate occurrence.

We always advise that participants (and therefore parents as well) make sure that the day is set aside for the event. A WBO tournament is like a day out after all, and the length of it is unpredictable. Various factors such as the number of participants, number of staff and how co-operative participants are will affect the length of the event.

Sorry to hear about Megahero's birthday! Hopefully the rest of his birthday was good anyway! In future, I can only recommend not relying on our events for birthday surprises or the like. Unfortunately, some can be far too unpredictable to meet expectations for such an occasion, haha.
78 Bladers and 2 Judges? @[Sniper] deserves an award for completing the tourney regardless! Bravo!
This was our first tournament and BladderHarry had a great time. Thank you Sniper and the judges who helped out. This was an unruly group and you stuck with it all day. Thanks for a fun experience for our son. He’s hooked! He already talked to his principal about starting a club at school.

How can we see the winner and how so,e of the friends we made did in the finals?
DOES ANYONE LIVE IN NEW YORK WHO WANTS TO BATTLE?

Here's @[Granken HD] (aka Goob) 's video of Sundays tournament! i'm even in the video as the judge for his first match from 1:45 - 2:56 (which makes me feel cool). as you can tell from the video it was pretty epic & thanks again to @[Sniper] for doing this!
Sniper is a SAINT for organizing, and for pressing on with that severely overpopulated tournament.
While waiting, almost every kid was playing in a group, making new friends, helping each other with new combinations, and bringing the community to life. That room was loud, crowded, and a fire hazard, but none of that is on Sniper, who was awesome. I'd be happy to go to anything Sniper puts together.

Hey, Sniper: I hope you got sleep, quiet, and a Spa Day. You deserve it!
Adding my thanks to GOOB and to Bey_$avage for being awesome referees, and for being so welcoming. You guys are role models for this community!

Hey @[Sniper] or @[Yami], can you please submit the results spreadsheet for this event? And the funds if you haven't already (either way, PM me with the details). Thank you!
Action Required: Tournament Spreadsheet & Fees Overdue
Hello @[Sniper] or @[Yami], can you please submit the following for this event as soon as possible:

  • Results Spreadsheet (post link here and you can copy the spreadsheet template here)
  • Winning Combinations (post here)
  • Funds Collected (please send to donate@worldbeyblade.org with a note indicating which tournament the payment is for).

The submission of the above is overdue as our Organizer's Guide states:
Quote:All tournament fees must be submitted via PayPal to donate@worldbeyblade.org no later than 14 days after a tournament has taken place.

...

The results spreadsheet must be filled out and linked in your tournament topic no later than 14 days after your event takes place.

If you have already submitted any of the above somewhere, please let us know the details. And if you have any questions or need any help, please let us know! Thank you.
This is completed to the best of my knowledge. Sniper would need to contact Kings Games to access the fee information, and winning combos are kinda pieced together from videos and what he can remember.
