HMS FORMAT
20 PARTICIPANT LIMIT

It's been over three years since the last HMS/Plastics tournament in Toronto–BEYBLADE'S NOT DEAD! at AN08–and I think it's about time we changed that! That's why, as a part of HMS & Plastics Remembrance Day 2011, I will be hosting two tournaments! HMS' NOT DEAD!, as this thread describes, and PLASTIC'S NOT DEAD!.

Both tournaments will be occurring on the same day: PLASTIC'S NOT DEAD! at 11AM at Dufferin Grove Park, followed by HMS' NOT DEAD! at 4PM at the same location (all times are tentative; if the HMS tournament seems to become more popular before the tournament date, I will switch the times). Feel free to attend both, or just one of the tournaments!

As always, to participate in the tournament you must purchase a Blader Passport, or alternatively, you can pay $5 for a single tournament. These tournaments will not be processed for BeyPoints, however, Faces for placement will still be awarded, and as the HMS & Plastics Remembrance Day announcement thread outlined, by participating in these tournaments, you will earn extra Credits on top of the Credits that you would regularly be awarded. These will be very useful in the upcoming campaign, which should be announced very soon! Additionally, because I unfortunately will not have any physical prizes for this tournament ... the winners will be awarded two Face Boosters of their choice!:

I understand that some of you may be thinking right now, "But I don't have any HMS ...". Since I'm sure this will be a problem for many Bladers, I'm willing to lend out a few HMS Beyblades / Shooters + Winders to people who do not have any HMS. If you're in need of a Beyblade to participate in this tournament, let me know, but I cannot guarantee that you will get one.

Location:
Tournament registration begins at 4pm.

(Nabbing this from another thread!)
If you're taking the subway, get off at Dufferin Station and walk a block and a half south.
If I'm not at the entrance, chances are I've already went to the tournament grounds. Follow the path and you should find me.

sorry i couldnt come turn out i had a appoint ment and no 1 told me to till the last moment
i had a awesome time. if i didn't self KO in that one battle i could of made it into the finals, curse you stupid tiny stadium Argh!

after this i am thinking of retiring from MFB and being a HMS only blader, the only thing holding me back is HMS being rare and expensive.

thanks to Deikailo for letting me borrow your parts and for selling me that wolborg MS. a bit sad that someone bought that red driger V2 base because i was really wanting that, oh well.
hey it is lord wolfblade's little brother.

it was great, like my brother said i had a awesome time

thank you Deikailo for letting me buy Draciel V Smile
I had a great time. Thanks again Deikailo for letting me use your parts and thanks Kei for building me a decent combo (Which turned out to be epic).
twas cool hanging out with a lot of the old crowd again. Nice to relive the old days one time. Definitely very rusty. Got my carp whooped.
There is video, right?
This was such a fantastic tournament.
I did quite well with a Grip Weight Core + Metal Ape combo due to the sheer number of bearing core combos.

Even if the turnout wasn't huge, it was great fun. Smile
This was my second time playing HMS. I expected to place, but I didn't think I would actually win first. The finals were intense.
Oh God, I hope there's video.
If not... Well then, I'm going to have to make a time machine, and go back and come battle with you all Smile
Prepare to be destroyed~
It makes you think when you bet the person who finished first, and third but couldn't beat the person who lost to everyone else, but you.

DARN YOU DAEGOR!!!

le sigh

It's because Daegor's resistant to your launcher breaking magic.

Problem?
You mad bro?
Hahahahahahaha!
Aquaman, give me my faces. :p
Hi guys! I would have posted last night, but after returning from dinner I basically collapsed onto my bed haha ... I was exhausted. Yesterday already seems like it was a mirage.

Even though we only had eight participants for PND! and ten for HND!, it was still a lot of fun and I'd like to thank everyone who came out yesterday to help make HMS & Plastics Remembrance Day in Toronto a success. Smile

The nostalgia was overwhelming, it felt like we had all been transported back in time. Playing with both plastics and HMS yesterday reminded me of how different both of those generations, and MFB really are. They all share similarities, but at the same time, they have their own unique characteristics and nuances that makes competitive play slightly different between them all.

There was a few people shooting video, so there should be something posted eventually! Blue shot some sick slow motion footage with his camera.

Of course, the one match I lose with this combo was the one against Xman for second/third ahaha

I think the fact that the three top finishers went 6-3 in the original round robin, and that we had to re-do the finals round robin says a lot about how close the entire tournament was!

If anything, I hope these two tournaments prove to everyone that I am indeed fallible LOL.
You got me worried that for a second at the end. I loved how we both used Xman as a means of avenging our losses lol.

Hah, yes, but that didn't really work out for me lol. Xman beat me both times during the finals round robin(s); the first time because I didn't notice that you had given him another a Beyblade and the second time because I didn't get lucky with the spin direction selection. So, I ended up going 1-2 against him in the tournament ... but at the same time, I went 2-1 against you! The tournament could have gone either way, it was so close. I think there was three people who went 5-4 in the round robin as well!

Anyways, here's a few photos I quickly snapped during HND! yesterday:

My face is hidden! I'm in almost every picture, too. I am so mysterious.

I know! I think if we made it to TB, you would have taken it though. You should have gone attack. Wink

But, Samurai Upper + CWD God Ring + Metal Change Core is "Attack"! Well, it is sort of a "Balance" combo, I guess.
IT'S ALL OR NOTHING, KEI. DJ 2002 - Yeah!
Oh yeah I forgot about the face boosters. Can I have a purple one please?

I'm only giving a Face Booster to the winners who didn't win a physical prize, sorry!
