The WBO is proud to announce that we will be partnering with ANIME NORTH 2015 for the eight consecutive year to host Team BeyBattle Revolution, the spiritual successor to Tag BeyBattle Revolution hosted over ten years ago at AN04 by Off the Chain! Team BeyBattle Revolution will make use of the WBO’s brand new Team Format; team up in groups of three and battle it out against Bladers from across North America in a frenzied competition to take home the Triple Crown Face and some fabulous prizes! Whose side will you choose?

What is Team Format?
First announced to great fanfare in 2014 and tested at the pilot event–BEY OR DIE–in Toronto this past September, Team Format is a new experimental format introduced by the WBO for Organized Play whereby Bladers join forces in teams of three as they battle against opposing teams individually in a series of BeyBattles.

Lead by their designated Captains, Team Format battles are comprised of what is known as a “Team BeyBattle”. Team BeyBattles consist of three separate best 3 out of 5 BeyBattles between each team member. In these BeyBattles, every round win counts! After all three BeyBattles have been completed, the winning team of that Team BeyBattle will be determined based on the final total round wins of all three BeyBattles combined! Here’s an example:

For more information about Team Format, please read the official announcement thread. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them here!

Looking for team members?
Feel free to discuss that in this tournament thread, but once you have created a team, create a thread in the Team Forum to further discuss any internal team matters there!

Want to participate? Join a Qualifier!
Team BeyBattle Revolution will be open to the public, but if you live in North America, and aren't able to afford the trip up to Toronto? Don't worry! We've got you covered; win one of our qualifier tournaments and you'll win paid travel expenses up to Toronto!

If you think your area can host a qualifier, try putting together a strong Event Proposal backed by confirmations by users posted in the WBO General Forum and we will consider it!

Entry: You need an AN Pass!
A Blader Passport is not required for this tournament, as AN does not allow event organizers to charge entry fees for events within the convention. However, if you want to support the WBO so we can host even better tournaments with even better prizes in the future, and participate in the BeyPoints ranking System in future tournaments, then you will need one! So, if you wish to purchase one at the tournament, that is still possible.

To participate in the tournament, you currently have a few options to gain entrance: a) a weekend pass or b) a day pass for Saturday at AN (and Friday/Sunday Passes if you plan attend the other events on those days). Weekend Passes are currently sold out, but you can still purchase Single Day Tickets. We highly recommend that you purchase a ticket ASAP! Saturday Passes have sold out in past years as well, and there is no guarantee that they will be available at the convention itself.

The Anime North weekend has become a yearly tradition so deeply rooted in the history of the WBO. I remember attending for the first time in 2008, with a mixture of both nervousness and excitement swirling around inside me; a nervousness and excitement not necessarily wholly related to Beyblade, but to the impending connections I would make with people I had known online for years.

Eight years later–eight Anime North’s later–memories of these experiences and the people I’ve met from around the world ceaselessly occupy a special place in my mind. BEYBLADE’S NOT DEAD, BEYBLADE WAR ROOM, BEYBLADE REVIVAL CUP, BEYBLADE CRUSADE, BEYBLADE CRUSADE 2, BEYBLADE REVOLUTION, GRAND BATTLE TOURNAMENT 2 … Some things just never change. As I always say, our AN events every year are the ultimate embodiment of what the WBO is all about fundamentally: competitive play and interacting with others. You can experience facets of those things through the forums–which is what makes them so great–but competing face to face with someone else potentially from a foreign country, only to smile and laugh with them afterwards is another experience entirely. Team BeyBattle Revolution will bring a whole new dimension to this with the team dynamics being introduced, so it surely is going to be an event for the history books! Don’t miss it.

Are you as excited about the festivities as we are?! If so, be sure to tell your friends about it! And if you haven't already, follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook!

BEYBLADE BATTLE STATIONS
Help us promote Team BeyBattle Revolution and the WBO at AN!

WHEN:
2PM-5:30PM, FRIDAY, MAY 22 2015

WHERE:
Sheraton Toronto Airport Hotel, International Plaza Hotel, Toronto Congress Center

WHY:
To help promote Team BeyBattle Revolution, our other events at AN, and the WBO!

HOW:
Volunteer Bladers will be paired up and scattered around the convention wielding their Beyblades, BB-10 Stadiums, Beyblade Battle Station posters, WBO Promo Cards, and flyers promoting the WBO events throughout the weekend. The goal is to attract and talk to on-lookers about our events, encourage them to attend, to join the WBO, or to simply try out Beyblade for themselves right then and there!

It will also be important to tell them to not worry if they do not have a Beyblade of their own for the events: we will have some new Beyblades available for $5 available for sale at MFB BeyBattle Revolution and Team BeyBattle Revolution that they can purchase if they would like. And for HMS BeyBattle Revolution, someone can let them borrow one.

"WHAT ... DO I GET?":
If you help out for at least one hour you'll have your choice of one of these wicked Stone Face Boosters after the convention!:

Locations:
1. International Plaza Hotel - Lobby
2. Toronto Congress Center - Front Lawn
3. Toronto Congress Center - Parking Lot Side Near Entrances
4. Sheraton Toronto Airport Hotel - Foyer, possibly just outside of our room

Anybody who is going to be at Anime North on Friday, May 22nd ... we need your help! To help promote our events at Anime North this year I've decided to bring back an idea Bey Brad once employed years ago before BEYBLADE WAR ROOM: "BEYBLADE BATTLE STATIONS". As explained above, I am looking for volunteers to help run these battle stations throughout the convention in the hours leading up to our first tournament of the weekend, MFB BeyBattle Revolution.

There is not necessarily any limit on the amount of pairs I am looking for; we can always find slightly new locations if there's a lot of you who can help out. Once I've determined who the pairs are, we can work together to determine who will be stationed at each location, and figure out the best place to meet so that I can give you the poster, WBO Promo Cards, flyers, and BB-10 (if necessary) to use.

Please post here and let me know if you are willing to volunteer and help out with this!

If you don't have anyone specifically you would like to pair with, but want to help, post anyways and we will find someone. And if you're not available for the entire 2-5:30PM timespan, don't worry: even an hour would help!

You'll have to ask @[Kai-V] about that.

I hope so!
Everyone who wants a WBO T-shirt, you should send me your size by private message before Wednesday May 20th. This of course means that you agree with the rather high cost we mentioned previously in this topic, around forty or fifty dollars I think ?
Working on the posters for each event, and the flyers right now ... can't wait to get them finished and printed!
Man I sure wish I could enter a tournament like this.
But good luck to everyone who's going.
If anyone has the Tornado BeyStadium and can bring it with them on both Friday and Sunday, please let me know. We're hoping to be change the Top Plate side event on both days to an event involving that stadium.
I was re-reading the Team Format rules and noticed that it said if there are 5+ teams, then it will be double elimination? If we do that, won't the tournament go by really quickly?
Would anyone let me use or sell me a top plate for the side event

Kai-V is lending them out.
Oh, about Top Plates, I only have one actually, so there was a slight misunderstanding and unless someone else owns one or more as well, we will actually change that side event for something else.

You have to consider that each Team BeyBattle consists of three BeyBattles, so it wouldn't be that quick. We are also thinking of changing the rules slightly if we get 9+ teams (which is likely) because Single Elimination is what might be too quick (and also not that fair since we want people to play at least two battles); if that is the case we might do Block Round Robin with three teams per block.

As you know from BEY OR DIE, judge availability is also a slight issue at Team Format events because there's a good chance that many Team BeyBattles will contain 4+ qualified judges at once, so that slows things down too.

This may actually be what to do. Unless someone had a whole ton of Top Plates like Kei did Plastics and HMS to hand out, I don't think any of the attendees actually have Top Plates to use. Maybe we can have just one less side event?

Three more days till Anime North! Real excited to see you all. Smile
Last day of work before I start on the road to Anime North!!!!!!!!

But Im dreading how much paperwork Ill have when i get back. hahahaha

I've already addressed this at the top of this page:

Does this mean that each player on a team is playing at the same time? That kinda removes the most fun element of team play — the tension of rooting for your teammates — doesn't it?
Bey Brad Wrote:Does this mean that each player on a team is playing at the same time? That kinda removes the most fun element of team play — the tension of rooting for your teammates — doesn't it?

It isn't, no. That's not what I recall doing at BEY OR DIE, at least.

Six more periods of school till Anime North! I'll try my best to survive them. Tongue_out

I am sure there will be others looking for a team, you can probably find them at AN, Alex Smile

Also, Bey Brad, I believe it is a taking turns system, not a everyone at once. At Bey or Die, we all had chances to root for one another and cheer each other on.
And now offically begins my travel to Anime North!!! Se y'all soon!!!
I'm leaving for Toronto now I'm so excited.
Everyone who volunteered to help with the BEYBLADE BATTLE STATIONS; I will assign you a location/partner tomorrow, so be sure to check this topic again before Friday!

Ah no no, not at all. It's like LMAO said. One battle at a time so that tension does exist and so that there is an opportunity for teammates to talk strategy in the minutes between battles.

I got a spot... wanna join my team?
Just in case we need extra stadiums, I will bring both bb10's that I have on me Smile

2 more days!!
