The WBO is proud to announce that we will be partnering with ANIME NORTH 2015 for the eight consecutive year to host Team BeyBattle Revolution, the spiritual successor to Tag BeyBattle Revolution hosted over ten years ago at AN04 by Off the Chain! Team BeyBattle Revolution will make use of the WBO’s brand new Team Format; team up in groups of three and battle it out against Bladers from across North America in a frenzied competition to take home the Triple Crown Face and some fabulous prizes! Whose side will you choose?

What is Team Format?
First announced to great fanfare in 2014 and tested at the pilot event–BEY OR DIE–in Toronto this past September, Team Format is a new experimental format introduced by the WBO for Organized Play whereby Bladers join forces in teams of three as they battle against opposing teams individually in a series of BeyBattles.

Lead by their designated Captains, Team Format battles are comprised of what is known as a “Team BeyBattle”. Team BeyBattles consist of three separate best 3 out of 5 BeyBattles between each team member. In these BeyBattles, every round win counts! After all three BeyBattles have been completed, the winning team of that Team BeyBattle will be determined based on the final total round wins of all three BeyBattles combined! Here’s an example:

For more information about Team Format, please read the official announcement thread. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them here!

Looking for team members?
Feel free to discuss that in this tournament thread, but once you have created a team, create a thread in the Team Forum to further discuss any internal team matters there!

Team BeyBattle Revolution will be open to the public, but if you live in North America, and aren't able to afford the trip up to Toronto? Don't worry! We've got you covered; win one of our qualifier tournaments and you'll win paid travel expenses up to Toronto!

If you think your area can host a qualifier, try putting together a strong Event Proposal backed by confirmations by users posted in the WBO General Forum and we will consider it!

Entry: You need an AN Pass!
A Blader Passport is not required for this tournament, as AN does not allow event organizers to charge entry fees for events within the convention. However, if you want to support the WBO so we can host even better tournaments with even better prizes in the future, and participate in the BeyPoints ranking System in future tournaments, then you will need one! So, if you wish to purchase one at the tournament, that is still possible.

To participate in the tournament, you currently have a few options to gain entrance: a) a weekend pass or b) a day pass for Saturday at AN (and Friday/Sunday Passes if you plan attend the other events on those days). Weekend Passes are currently sold out, but you can still purchase Single Day Tickets. We highly recommend that you purchase a ticket ASAP! Saturday Passes have sold out in past years as well, and there is no guarantee that they will be available at the convention itself.

The Anime North weekend has become a yearly tradition so deeply rooted in the history of the WBO. I remember attending for the first time in 2008, with a mixture of both nervousness and excitement swirling around inside me; a nervousness and excitement not necessarily wholly related to Beyblade, but to the impending connections I would make with people I had known online for years.

Eight years later–eight Anime North’s later–memories of these experiences and the people I’ve met from around the world ceaselessly occupy a special place in my mind. BEYBLADE’S NOT DEAD, BEYBLADE WAR ROOM, BEYBLADE REVIVAL CUP, BEYBLADE CRUSADE, BEYBLADE CRUSADE 2, BEYBLADE REVOLUTION, GRAND BATTLE TOURNAMENT 2 … Some things just never change. As I always say, our AN events every year are the ultimate embodiment of what the WBO is all about fundamentally: competitive play and interacting with others. You can experience facets of those things through the forums–which is what makes them so great–but competing face to face with someone else potentially from a foreign country, only to smile and laugh with them afterwards is another experience entirely. Team BeyBattle Revolution will bring a whole new dimension to this with the team dynamics being introduced, so it surely is going to be an event for the history books! Don’t miss it.

Are you as excited about the festivities as we are?! If so, be sure to tell your friends about it! And if you haven't already, follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook!

I think the only person who would be eligible is @[JesseObre] since he actually handed out dozens of flyers haha.

He gave one to me when I was walking from the lobby towards TBR.. And he never recognized me ;~;

I recognized you don't worry, hahaha.

Well, Mitsu did put in the effort to come earlier, so a face booster should be given out, in my opinion.
(May. 30, 2015  7:04 PM)Kei Wrote: It’s awesome that you record the details of all of your opponents combos in such detail, @[Wombat]. I don’t know of anyone else who does that, which is surprising considering the competitive value such data has. I’ve always wanted to do it, but I often don’t have the time or energy to do so between my own battles, judging, organizing, and shooting photos/video.

That Bakushun Leone 90RSF combo was really interesting. I’m sure it has decent Defense, but do you often also try to use it offensively? Does it work? Libra 230RS was a kind of tough match up though, as I saw while judging it. Though, even in that case, the “ramps” of Bakushin certainly made an impact in the one round you did win.

LMAO and The Sponge always share combos; they’re brothers lol.

I recorded it the battle between you and LMAO, I believe! I know I have a clip where LMAO tells me we should ban RS again.

And maybe you didn’t do so well at Team BeyBattle Revolution, but I can say with certainty that you were a tough opponent that several people were worried about facing throughout the weekend. It’s always tough to play against someone who is confident with and uses Attack so frequently. Fortunately we were able to counter that with Libra 230RS this weekend, but that could have easily backfired if you had chosen to break your pattern of Attack (that said, you were even pretty close on multiple instances to beating Libra 230RS with Attack, which is impressive).

It was great to see another new person–especially someone who is so knowledgable and competitive–join us at AN this year. It was great meeting you and I hope you can make it again next year!

Well this is embarrassing, even though you tagged me in this post I didn't notice it, haha. Sorry about that!

I feel like the reason most people don't record their battles is like you said, they don't have time between their own battles and watching other people's, as well as maybe judging and hosting. Maybe they think they don't need to record them, seeing as some people like Leone19 and Mitsu can remember their battles just fine without writing them down.

MF-H Bakushin Leone 90RSF is one of my favorite Limited combos, actually. It has pretty good Defense actually, using the Hasbro Metal Masters RSF it's almost immovable even against Omega. I use it offensively when I need to, I've been able to beat Meteo and Gravity B:D by KOing them, the only things I have trouble against are tall things and Tornado Stallers. Against Libra 230RS I just tried to avoid it as much as possible to OS it (again, which would have worked if it had been 85/90RS).

I hope that clip gets included in the BeyChannel footage, if there is any this year. I don't know if yall are leaving that to Zankye or not since he's got a larger audience.

I wouldn't say I was a tough opponent, just someone who guessed right sometimes and got a few lucky upsets. Yall give me way too much credit. Looking back at my combos, I did use a lot more Attack than I thought, but I don't think I'm confident with it. I'm not Meow!, who can pull off a Sliding Shoot with XF and KO top tier Defense with a stock Cosmic Pegasus, haha. I guess that made me a little too predictable.

It was nice to meet everyone at AN and put some faces to names as well. I hope I can make it next year, but I don't really expect to because I'll have my hands full with college and stuff.

I wish I could have made it, but it took me longer to get out of the airport and get my passes than I expected.

There will definitely be BeyChannel videos for the AN tournaments this year ... it's just a question of when since I have a huge back log of tournament videos to complete. I try to do at least one a month. Zankye's footage is great for hardcore players that want to see as much of the matchups as possible, but BeyChannel videos are more concise and fun to watch for the average player or fan, I think.
Where were the battle stations? Happy to hear they were back but I didn't see any.

The thing is though, again, they really didn't work out, haha. We all stayed in the International Plaza Hotel handing out flyers, holding up signs and battling each other, rather splitting up and doing the same.

By the way, Kei- Pyrus10000 should technically be eligible of a DJ Face for judging a bit on the Saturday, correct?
And I had to stand around in line to get my staff room key for like ... 45 minutes after setting up the Beyblade Battle Station at the International Plaza and playing for an hour or two while we waited for volunteers to show up so I could give them stadiums/flyers/posters. I went to line up after most of the volunteers arrived late in the afternoon on Friday, and even though I told everyone where to go before I went to get the staff room key and gave them what they needed, they didn't really listen and all stuck together in one place haha. By the time I got back there wasn't much time before we had to head over to the Sheraton for the first event. Unhappy

Yup, that's right! I'll note it in the results.
OMG YOU EVEN USED THE OLD POSTERS. So happy.

Sad to hear it didn't work, but it's still an idea I believe in. Maybe just the wrong time. I think a lot of the "nostalgia" for Beyblade is gone and might not come back for a while, if ever.

I'd disagree. There were several I believe, but one Wombat and I spoke to about the new tops. He mentioned to Wombat how he had a bunch of old plastics when he was a kid and couldn't believe Beyblade still exists.

That's what happened to a few of my (now) casual players in CT. They loved the original as kids and I got them back into MFB.

No point in re-doing something that's already perfect for the job!

Hm, it's hard to say. We still managed to give out a sizable chunk of flyers at the International Plaza to interested onlookers. And I think seeing people playing Beyblade is something that's kind of hard to ignore simply because the of the movement associated with both the Beyblades themselves and the players launching. If we were playing a card game, that might have been something easier to miss, for example.
