We now know that the tournament will definitely go ahead. We have one possible venue at the moment:

Location:
ExCeL
Royal Victoria Dock
London,
E16 1XL, UK

Your hosts:
Me (ChozenBlader)
TheGigsMeister

Judges:
Blitz
Gekiryu

The time of day and the specific date are still to be decided, but for any suggestions towards running the tourney, or if you want to apply to be a judge, say so here.

Tournament setup:
There will be a plastics division, MFB Division and HMS division. The winners will get prizes (but we do not know what the prizes will be as of yet). Also, there will be a free-play section as well, for those who want to test combos or simply blade for the sake of it.

The matches will run on the point system. [/b]

For the record, according to the rules, if you break your opponents blade, you win instantly (although I must stress, please don't try to do this on purpose)

There may be a small entrance fee to pay for the prize. The amount is undecided.
Feel free to suggest any ideas.

IMPORTANT: There will be a blacklist. If your name is added to it, you will not be allowed to attend the tourney. This is to prevent trouble makers from spoiling the event.

Also, please, if you can, bring a stadium with you. The more stadiums we have, the more battles we can have at one time. Please note: Only Takara stadiums are legal for competitive play.

You will be allowed to buy and sell beyblades at the tournament. Just make sure your prices aren't outrageous Wink

Maybe bans on certain parts in certain stadiums? like in Anubis' tournament from a while back
But banning, say, Bearing SG doesn't just ban zombies, but any combo using bearings.

I see, hadn't thought of it that way. That does sound like taking the fun out of it.
The most effective way to do it would probably be like "Any Beyblade with a Bearing SG spinning in the opposite direction of the opposing Beyblade."
yeah i would just like varied combos rather than just the ones u see everywhere.
Wobblers, Jumping Blades you know the sort of thing

Yay! More peoples! We should start an attendance list. I think this could get quite big. Smile I know of some people outside the WBO that may come as well.

If you do, can you give links if they have websites?:protarget:
Well at the moment I've informed the beyblade cosplay group http://beyblade-nation.deviantart.com/ as I know they'll be there on the day anyways. I dunno if they know much about beyblading as a hobby or they just like the anime but they should be fun anyways. If they do just like the anime then that means a few easy wins for us, right? Smile And then they said they'd try an inform other beyblade fans that they knew and I'll be doing the same so.......hopefully the word wil spread around quickly. And then I'll go back and try to see how many people they know that can come and the same for my friends and contacts. Smile
I have a few friends that would be able to go to the MCM Expo in May!!
Dang, you guys, this seems like its gonna have a huge turnout. I hope this all goes great for you guys.
I think we may need to work on organising it a bit more actually. I mean getting really good prizes and everything. Maybe even prizes for other things, not just the battles. I mean, at the American ones I've heard of people giving blades away and such and if this tourney does turn out to be big we should be able to do things like that too and make a good impression......

that's just because i have loads of beyblades i can afford to give away ... i don't expect anyone else to do it.

contact the convention, see if they will give you a budget.
Fair enough. Still I guess thats up to ChozenBlader as hes organising it.....Im not sure if its even gonna be sponsored by the con or whatnot.....I was kinda under the impression that it would be more of an unofficial tourney held at the same place or even just outside the con. Uncertain Hence why I thought maybe more could be done for it if it was gonna be a larger tourney.
I doubt the con would be happy about that. I assumed he would contact the convention. It'd be a bad idea not to.
Lots of groups have meet ups at cons.....I never really thought it would be a problem. I mean I could be wrong but I dont recall ChozenBlader mentioning anything about contacting conventions or anything like that.....Unhappy
Well, I've been doing tournaments at con for a really long time now, and it's always best to contact them. Especially since you guys already have a pretty high dedicated turnout (probably more than I have for War Room), I don't see why they wouldn't add you to the official programming. You'll get way more people if you're in the official convention schedule, and they will most likely give you a budget.
That sounds really good.....I guess Ill PM ChozenBlader in the morning or something. I think hes been busy lately though.....how many people do you normally get at War Room anyways? I think I may have made it sound like more people are coming than really are confirmed.....at the moment anyways.....
We got 22 people at BND. I expect more for BWR.
Hey, Can the prize for whoever wins be a rare beyblade?

Sure, which one would you like? What sort of wrapping paper would you like?

Whatever prizes there are are going to be decided by availability and financing. Of course, if you'd like to assist us, feel free to make a donation.
