lmao TVs? what for?
We now know that the tournament will definitely go ahead. We have one possible venue at the moment:
Location:
ExCeL
Royal Victoria Dock
London,
E16 1XL, UK
Your hosts:
Me (ChozenBlader)
TheGigsMeister
Judges:
Blitz
Gekiryu
The time of day and the specific date are still to be decided, but for any suggestions towards running the tourney, or if you want to apply to be a judge, say so here.
Tournament setup:
There will be a plastics division, MFB Division and HMS division. The winners will get prizes (but we do not know what the prizes will be as of yet). Also, there will be a free-play section as well, for those who want to test combos or simply blade for the sake of it.
The matches will run on the point system. [/b]
For the record, according to the rules, if you break your opponents blade, you win instantly (although I must stress, please don't try to do this on purpose)
There may be a small entrance fee to pay for the prize. The amount is undecided.
Feel free to suggest any ideas.
IMPORTANT: There will be a blacklist. If your name is added to it, you will not be allowed to attend the tourney. This is to prevent trouble makers from spoiling the event.
Also, please, if you can, bring a stadium with you. The more stadiums we have, the more battles we can have at one time. Please note: Only Takara stadiums are legal for competitive play.
You will be allowed to buy and sell beyblades at the tournament. Just make sure your prices aren't outrageous

LOL, if you want to lug a TV or two down to London then be my guest lol. Closer to the time I could try and get in contact with theINtoy and see what they could do. This could be a chance for advertising as well XD *evil laugh*.

Idk, I was just wondering what kinds of stuff we'll do there for people who want to get into beyblading. TVs could show some sort of advertisements from companies that sponsor us or... whatever. =S
No idea, I'm just typing really basic initial ideas now. We could buy beys and sell them for a little extra right? =P Oh, and bear in mind that we could get a lot of people interested from this and the more there are, the higher the ratio of people to beys there is.
Once people get into blading again seriously we could be looking at paying a LOT more for plastics if anyone still collects (like me).

You should sell them so you make 0 profit. Or see if you can get the anime convention to pay for it. Anime North gave me almost $500 for BND!. Granted, this was more than they wanted to spend on me.
Run a Beyblade instructional panel shortly before the tournament and give out Beyblades at the event. This worked well for us at BND.

I'm assuming you had to pay back the $500? I think I mentioned above that if we get enough interest I could try and speak to theINtoy for some sponsorship =D. I could also try and get them to donate some MFBs to sell at the event.

I think he meant that they sponsored him the money to pay for the stuff.
The thing that makes blading popular is when a new generation of little kids get into it. If just a few small children around the age of like 9 would bring them to school I'm sure other kids would think they were cool and buy them.
That's how it worked at my school, someone brought one in and "WOW!" everyone bought one. They were out of stock almost everywhere within a week.

No. We were an attraction for Anime North. Therefore, they sponsored our supplies.
Awesome B)
I shall look into this!

Guys, if you would like, I could post this up on my forum as I have just recieved an enquiry through my website. I obviously redirected him to here. But I believe that if I post the contents of the first post on my forum and link back to this thread we could gain additional interest. Let me know if you agree with this.
Yeah, sure

You people in america are lucky we have a few people age 16-18 right now thats why we cant do our own tournament only officals but you cand do your own tournament
Because of you have people 16-19 there we have only a few people that age and thats why if we host a tournament ı know people come there but not in our age and one more reason we dont have area to play in city because everyone live so far away

Why do you have to play against people in your age group?

You could use your magazine to advertise a tournament.

Is this going to be strictly beyblade toys or are we going to inform people about the anime and stuff too? Seeing as it's an anime convention... I see you've done some nice AMVs and stuff too espio.
TBH, it would be nice to have some stuff for the anime/manga. We could perhaps have some manga samples, although the copyright issue does cause a problem here. We could perhaps do what I did on my site which is give out a sample and tell everybody to visit BBSpirit and Beyblade Forums for the rest of the volume?
Toys would obviously be the main focus as this is a tournament after all. We could do some advertising for here, my site (BeyUK), Kai-V's site (BB Spirit) and maybe Beyblade Forums as they are more anime orientated. This would bring new and current Beyblade together and could be the first step to recreating the BB community along side all over projects etc.

I'm thinking Beywiki leaflet handouts, TVs with anime and beyblade advertisement displays and the current tournament rankings.
Leaflet handouts could be useful for your site too, and maybe on the beywiki leaflet there could be a note that says not to delete the whole wiki just incase it isn't BLINDINGLY OBVIOUS.

I'm not to sure on the TV business. I'm not sure whether the Expo would supply it but I wouldn't be dragging a TV on the train lol.
I don't see the point of bringing a TV.
Where will they tournament be held? Will it be indoors or outdoors? There are two options for in doors: the hall where EVERYBODY is or inside the actual Expo? Payment for a stand in the Expo would be quite expensive I believe.
