Those Lazy, Hazy, Swayzy(?) Beys of Summer
Hi everyone! This is the official thread for our August tournament being held in the Mid-Atlantic's favorite Beyblade venue, Martin Luther King Jr. Park - on Sunday, August 12 in Silver Spring, MD.
You might have noticed a little play on words in the title of this tournament, or you might not... but we will be competing in Zero-G stadiums!!! We will be using the Zero-G Attack and Defense stadiums for this tournament, alternating each round (attack, then defense, then attack, etc.). So bring your imagination, because we've got a whole new world of combination creation to do!!!

Location: Map of MLK Park The closest address to put in your GPS is 1098 Jackson Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20904, but be sure to look at the satellite view of the map above for the actual location of the tournament which will be inside the pavilion (just above the basketball courts)
Registration: 11:00am - Noon Seriously, show up on time please!
Start time: Noon-thirty
Format: TBD depending on number of bladers
Stadiums: BBG-04 Attack and BBG-11 Defense (Alternating rounds)
Surface: Concrete with blankets and cardboard
Fees: Standard WBO fees ($5 entry fee or free with a Blader Passport)
MFB Prizes: Zero-G beys and gear (TBD)

Need-to-Know Information

Open your account page on your mobile device (if possible) during registration to help us keep things quick.
2. Arrive On Time
You must arrive by the tournament start time to enter. We cannot add new players to an event once it begins. If you're running late, contact the host.
3. Stay Aware of Your Belongings
We do everything possible to ensure a safe environment, but can't be held responsible for lost or stolen goods. Keep your gear close by!
4. The Tournament Will Last At Least a Few Hours
This event is likely to last at least a few hours. If you can't commit to the entire tournament, you're welcome to come watch and play for fun instead!
5. Listen For Your Username To Be Called
Your name will be called when it's time for your next battle. If you need to leave early or take a break, tell a judge. Missing a match could mean disqualification!
6. Players Must Meet Regional Product Age Restrictions
All players in this event must meet the age restrictions on Beyblade products in their region. TAKARA-TOMY recommends Beyblade for ages 6+. Hasbro recommends Beyblade for ages 8+. Players under these ages may only participate with the permission of their parent/guardian.
7. Players Under 18 Must Be Accompanied by a Parent/Guardian
If you are under 18 years old, a parent/guardian must accompany you and be present for the duration of the event.
8. Contests, Raffles, Gambling, Betting, and Selling Are Prohibited
Advertising the sale of any product or service, as well as posting about any contest, raffle, gambling, or betting on this event page and conducting them at the event without approval by Fighting Spirits Inc. staff is prohibited. Please contact the Organized Play team if you require approval.
9. Terms of Service
All event attendees and users of this website are subject to our Terms of Service.

I will have Zero-G Launcher Grips, but not the Zero-G string launchers as they will not yet have arrived from Japan. I will however have the Zero-G light launchers.

Sorry to hear that! Not sure when the September tournament will be yet.
I am excited to (maybe) start the Zero-G competitive scene. However I am fine with BB-10. Either way you can count me in.
If we use Zero-G, I would like to test the stadium in the grass, just to see if it can still sway properly.
If we use BB-10 I'd be happy with Patio, or Grass surface.

Sovereign, we would have to use cardboard under the Zero-G stadium because it would sway too much if we didn't, since we're on grass.
You might also want a blanket that extends beyond the cardboard if you're playing on concrete so that Bottoms don't get gnarled-up when they come flying out of the exits.
