Bey: DuskAstraeusGB145MB
Bey Details: Astraeus is one of the 5 sacred Titan beys that were born from the final merge of LDrago and Pegasis. Like all Titan beys it has the rare ability to communicate telepathically with it's owner. Although it is genderless, Astraeus is commonly referred to as male. It's face bolt is black and depicts a golden sword with a helmet in the background. In greek mythology Astraeus (or Astraeos) was an astrological deity and the Titan-god of the dusk. Its clear wheel is a transparent gold with a black stripe in the middle. It is pretty much one single ring and has excellent weight distribution along with being one of the heaviest clear wheels. It's fusion wheel is Dusk, and is similar to the burn wheel only thicker and twice the width. It is carved out of a single piece of transparent gold diamond and as a result is the heaviest fusion wheel by far. When the light of Dusk hits the ring, it restores all its lost spin rotation and allows for the use of Astraeus' strongest move, Dusk Blade. The ring is indestructible and can store the energy of dusk in it for later use. It's spin track is Gravity Ball 145, and just adds to Astraeus' immense weight. The metal balls in the track assist greatly with the balance of the bey and help with defence. Its performance tip is Metal Ball, and is the same as the normal ball tip only made of metal. This is the final addition to the heaviest bey in existence. The metal ball not only gives it more grip onto the floor, but is the only tip able to successfully hold and balance Astraeus' incredible weight.
Special Move(s): Shine Nova
Dusk Blade (only at dusk)
Character Profile: Samuel is the leader of a beyblade excavation team 'Final Truth'. He, with his partners Sergent Creese and Plutis are world famous archeologists and legendary for they beyblading skills. Born in the year 3001 A.D, at the age of 19, he mysteriously disappeared along with his whole team while exploring for the sacred 'Crateor Stone', which is said to be the key to an ancient and wise race. He comes over strong willed and sometimes stubborn, but has good intentions.

Prologue:
Part 1:
Spoiler (Click to View)
"Sir, we have found it!" The voice crackled through the communicator sitting at the edge of the mahogany desk. Samuel's head looked up from the paperwork he had culched in his hand, the words barely readable in the dim light of the tunnel. He reached out his hand and grabbed the communicator, pressing the button on the side to initiate the microphone.
"Are you sure?" He said back, his voice unsure. They had had false alarms before.
"Yes sir; we are sure, it is just like you said. We cannot go more than a few metres away from it. It seems to have this aur.
Whatever the person on the end of the communicator was saying was lost as Sam dropped it and started running down the shaft that lead to the main tunnel.
His communicator clanged as it hit the hard stone floor, but the sound was drowned out by shouts of "We found it" and "Man all stations"
A few seconds later the whole tunnel burst in noise as people yelled orders, trying to make their voice heard over the sound of the drills, still burrowing into the hard earth around them
Samuel stopped as he reached the open chasm that was the Pit of Scythes. It was said to be the last connection to an ancient tribe called the Crateor Tribe; and Samuel and his team were about to prove that connection.
Sam reached around and grabbed his beylauncher from his back pocket, and loaded his bey into it, before he jumped down into the blackness of the chasm...
"Astraeus, GO!"
There was a flash of blinding light, and a golden humanoid figure emerged from the darkness, lighting up the whole chasm. The figure's body seemed to have swirling space racing around inside it, various stars and nova's appeared and disappeared at random, its light was for pure brilliance.
On its back was a blade of shimmering darkness, its hands were gloved with the same material. It reached out its hand and caught Samuel in it, gently lifting him to rest on his shoulder. Angel-like wings burst from its back, sending rays of light bending in all directions.
This; was Dusk Astraeus.
Astraeus dived, down toward the bottom of the chasm, Samuel riding on his shoulder. A minute later they reached the floor of the chasm, to be met by a mixed team of miners, scientists and archaeologists.
Astraeus retreated into its bey form, and jumped back up into its owners waiting hand. A second later, a man with sky blue hair plastered on his face ran up, breathing heavily.
"Sir, this is it, after 10 years of searching, we found it." The man lent over to lay both his hands on his knees, obviously exhausted.
"Very good, Plutis, very good." Samuel walked past him and barged through the crowd of people surrounding the new finding. Samuel stared at it, a stone the size of a pebble that glittered with all the colours of the rainbow. He tried to walk towards it, but was repelled by an invisible wall. At the same time his mind exploded with voices, echoing in his head, wanting to delve into every corner of his brain and fill it with its torturous echo.
Astraeus shone a brilliant orange and black in his hand, burning it and snapping Sam back into real life, the voices in his head reduced to a dull ache.
Telekinetic power, when you touched the field all the spirits of the Crateor Tribe came flooding into your head. My guess is that they were trying to find out information about this world, for their goal is to create a perfect one.
The voice in Sam's head echoed with power. Astraeus, like all the great titan beyblades, had the rare ability to communicate telepathically with its owner.
I know that as well as you. Sam thought; his brainwaves being transmitted directly to Astraeus so that the bey heard his every word. It caught me by surprise; that is all.
"General Baychrist, sir." A voice called out from behind Sam. Some people thought it strange that a 19 year old boy was a W.B.B.A.M (World BeyBlade Association Military) general and in charge of an entire excavation team searching for one of the most prized objects in history. But then again, they had never met Samuel. Anyone who has met him would use words like 'outstanding', 'incredible' and 'the prodigy of our generation' to describe him best. Yes, Samuel was one of a kind. When Sam turned around a tall, thin man stood there, his hand in a half-salute. His green eyes were like a hawk, seeming to take in every little detail, their outline standing out agenised his bleach white face. His glasses were silver rimmed and he wore a white overcoat with black pants, the insignia of a head scientist patched onto his shirt pocket.
"Sergeant Creese, at ease" Said Sam, rubbing his head. Creese released his salute and walked next to him. "Is it possible for us to get past this feild?" Sam asked, "And what is it?" As he was asking this Sam pokes the wall, and ripples extended out from where he touched, like how you touch the surface of water lightly and it ripples.
Creese dabbed his sleeve onto his face to remove some of the beads of sweat that sat there, and brushed his black mop hair out of the way of his eyes.
"It appears to be some kind of telekinetic energy field, created by seismic pulses emitted from the stone mixing with the radiation that is being emitted from the floor" Creese gestured to the floor, where glowing purple crystals seemed to pulse with energy.
"These crystals mark the border of the field,†Continued Creese "To bypass the field we need to either destroy the crystals, or destroy the stone. The second of which is out of the question for obvious reasons"
"So how do we destroy the crystals?"
"That is also another problem, we can't. The crystals are technically still inside the field, in order to access the crystals we need to remove the field, and in order to remove the field we need to remove the crystals."
Sam rolled his eyes. Why does everything have to be so difficult, why can't there just me a button to press that opens the way to the secret tressure, that is what happens in the movies. He thought.
But we are not in the movies, are we? Astraeus replied to his thoughts. Movies are fictional adventures that are written by humans for the entertainment of the wider species.
Do you have to listen to my thoughts all the time? Asked Sam. It can be counted as invasion of personal space.
Astraeus laughed an echoic laugh that rang in Sam's head. Fine, I shall retreat from your mind, for now. With that, Sam felt Astraeus' presence leave his head and travel back into the bey that was still clutched in his hand. He and Astraeus had been friends since Sam's childhood, Sam met him when he was lost at dusk, crying under the cover of a mahogany tree...
"Sir?" Creese was looking at him with a strange mixture of admiration and questioning.
"Sorry Sergeant, I must have been dreaming"
Creese nodded, and Sam's mind returned to the present situation. "You said that the field had some sort of telekinetic properties, what were they?"
Creese looked at Sam strangely for a moment, then explained. "The stone seems to have telekinetic properties, like the titan beys, only it seems to be communicating with the field itself. We think it might be the stones way of seeing what is going on, through the field.
Sam nodded thoughtfully. "How strong is this telekinetic link, could it be intercepted?"
"Would say so, sir" Replied Creese, "it is a weak link, as the spirits of the stone are still imprisoned inside, a strong telepathic interruption could cut the connection for even a second, and that would be enough time to analyse the crystals that were holding the force field, and possibly find out how to break it."
Sam nodded, but before he was able to speak Creese interrupted. "But in order to access the connection, we will need a way to break the field, which brings up back to our original problem, and we have no idea how much damage breaking the connection will do to the chasm and our instruments, we need to run more test.â€
"Get your men ready sergeant." cut in Sam. "I will break the connection and your men will get the scans, but be quick because I do not know how long I will be able to hold back the link" Sam had his beylauncher at the ready, and Astraeus was in it, ready to fight
Creese snapped out of his daze, and started to shout orders to the men around as they scrambled back quite a few meters; they had all seen Astraeus' power first hand, and did not want to be a part of it.
"Ready!" Yelled Creese. Sam looked straight forward, concentrating, before
"3..2..1..Go Shoot!" Yelled Sam as Astraeus flew from his launcher and at the shield, a second later the collision occurred.
A loud scream of screeching metal was heard, then a shock wave was sent back, knocking all the surrounding men to the floor and making the room shudder and shake. Rocks fell from the walls, the expensive drilling equipment was falling as more waves came in a stream, the screech getting higher and higher pitched, until it was more of wail. Sam stayed focused on the field, willing it to bend and break.
"Astraeus!" He yelled over the sound of the wine, and Astraeus' bit-beast lurched from the bey, its black sword in hand. It swung at the field, creating the biggest shock wave of them all, the entire contents room was flung back agenised the furthest wall, the pillars that supported the chasm started to crumble and the roof started to fall in, still Astraeus push on, until finally...
There was a final shock wave, and one last deafening screech, then nothing. Astraeus sat, spinning a few meters into where the field once was, the glowing purple crystals were destroyed, shattered on the stone floor. Astraeus' bit beast returned into the bey and spun into Sam's waiting hand once again, stopping immediately. There was silence for a few seconds, before the first signs of life started to emerge from the crumbling hole of the chasm. Alone, stood Sam, breathing heavily; both physically and mentally drained. He fell to the floor, and was welcomed into blackness...
"Are you sure?" He said back, his voice unsure. They had had false alarms before.
"Yes sir; we are sure, it is just like you said. We cannot go more than a few metres away from it. It seems to have this aur.

Samuel heard voices echoing for somewhere far away, calling too him...
His eyes snapped open, surveying the landscape. Dozens of anxious eyes peered down at him, and many voices called his name.
I must be on the floor... He thought. What happened?
A hand gruffly grabbed his shoulder and hauled him up onto his unsteady feet. Sam shook his head and met eyes with his second in command, Sergeant Creese.
"Are you all right sir?†He said, with little concern in his voice. “That was some show you put on there, you not only gave Plutis' team enough time to take a sample of the crystals, but you destroyed the telekinetic field entirely!"
Sam shook his head again, but could not seem to get full grip on reality, like a cover of fog was over his head.
"So we can acces the stone now?"
"I believe so; Plutis is already on his way t..." That is as far a Creese got before he was shoved out of the way by Samuel's hand as he barged through the crowd of people and headed for where the rainbow stone sat on its golden pedestal.
"Plutis! Progress report!" A thin, wiry man walked up, his sky blue hair standing out from his figure along with his eyes, as wide as the moon, his voice brimming with excitement.
"We are currently trying to scan the stone for traces of radioactivity and pressure signals, but whenever we go near it all our equipment stops working, the stone seems to have some kind of electrical field that surrounds it, and we are getting our things together to try to neutralize it."
"How long do you think that will take?" Asked Sam; glancing over Plutis' shoulder at the team of scientists that crowded the glimmering stone. Plutis looked up for a few moments, seeming to add up all the factors and variables. "The field is strong, the strongest I have ever seen, and taking into account the equipment we will need and what we have available, I would say around a month or two to get it fully neutralized; if everything goes well"
Sam shook his head violently. "Too long, I have waited enough." Sam pushed past Plutis and toward the stone while knocked over the scientists who were surrounding it. Sam reached out his hand to grab the stone when it was jerked back by another. Plutis was behind him, holding him back.
"Sir, No! Touching the stone is dangerous, we don't know what could happen if you make contact with i..." That was as far as he got before Sam’s hand was at his thought, gripping it in an iron like grasp.
"WE SHALL BE FREE!" A voice echoed from Sam’s mouth that was not his own, like someone, or something, was speaking through him. Sam dropped Plutis onto the floor and turned back to the stone; his hand once again reaching for it.
"Noooo!" Yelled Plutis; as he leapt for Sam, diving between him and the stone. His hand made contact with the stone as he flung himself forward, and an echoic scream was heard around the tunnel as rainbow light enveloped Plutis, stretching from his hands all the way to his head. His eyes flashed and smoke poured from his mouth, and seismic pulses cracked the floor around him, sending Sam and anyone else close by flying through the air and crashing agenised the far wall.
Plutis' body twisted and turned around, then crashed to the ground, his screams of pain were becoming louder and more desperate as his body writhed and spasmed on the floor. The rainbow colour that surrounded his body slowly turned into a dark shade of grey, and then pitch black. Plutis' screams turned into more of the screams of an animal rather than human, an animal roaring in fury and triumph. There was one final scream, before his body stopped moving, and the flames retreated into his skin. What was left, laying, abandoned on the floor, was no longer Plutis.
His eyes snapped open, surveying the landscape. Dozens of anxious eyes peered down at him, and many voices called his name.

Dust fell from the walls of the chasm, engulfing everything in it. But heavier than anything was the horrible silence that fell over the chasm, as Plutis' body lay, lifeless among the rubble and dust of the one golden pedestal. Sam lifted his head and look around. People were scattered everywhere, some looked just as lifeless as Plutis; while others groaned and stirred.
'SAMUEL BAYCHRIST!' The voice exploded in his head with mind numbing force. Sam's hands flew to his head and held it tight, screaming.
"Aaaarrrgggg!" Sam rolled over; his eyes closed as he recovered from not only the blast, but the ringing in his head from the voice which had just entered his mind.
'Samuel, can you hear me? Sam?' The voice said with obvious concern.
"I can hear you!" Shouted Sam; probably a bit loud. "Now, can you tone it down a little?" His eyes fluttered open, and his head seemed to clear a little.
There was a sound of someone sighing gratefully as Astraeus showed his relief. 'Are you ok? Are you hurt at all?' Astaeus' voice had returned to its normal coolness, like a single pure note being played over a calm, open sea.
'I am fine.' Said Sam; able to get a grip on his telepathic powers again. 'What happened?'
'You were in a trance; something was blocking me from your mind, an invisible wall of mist that I could not get through. I called to you but you did not hear, like you were no longer in control of your body'
'I don't think I was' Replied Sam. All I can remember is Plutis touching the stone and being flung back here to the wal...' Where was the stone? Sam jumped up and ran to where the pedestal once sat, only to find the golden beauty that it once was gone, left in pieces of grey rock. The stone sat half buried in the rubble, now as grey and cold as a normal garden pebble. Plutis lay a meter away, unmoving, almost stone like.
Sam walked over to his body and looked down at it. His bright blue hair had turned into a dark shade of blue, very nearing black. His once smooth skin was now grey and full of spikes, where the hair on his arms had joined to form sharp spines. His clothes were torn and shredded and his eyes were closed, his chest as stone cold as the rest of his body.
Sam walked up to the body and looked down at it in horror, of what had become of his friend. His eyes shadowed and his skin paled. He had done this, him. If he had just waited to break the field, if he had been strong enough to realise what he was doing and stop it before Plutis had to pay the price for his mistake...
'It was not your fault. Whatever was in your head was powerful enough to keep me out; no mortal could have fought it.' Astraeus was trying to make Sam feel better, it wasn't working.
Sam continued stare at the body, it looked more like a corpse now, a dead body ready to be taken away...
Suddenly Plutis' eyes open with a snap. They darted to where Sam stood, and his arm shot out like a bullet from a ready gun. His fingers grasped his leg in an iron grip, his mouth opened, and smoke poured out of it as one word echoed through the room.
"FREE!" Plutis' body hauled itself upright and Sam staggered back from the body, his eyes wide with shock and fear. Plutis, or what once was Plutis, stood with an arch in its back, his eyes darting around, taking in all its surroundings until finally, its eyes settled on Sam. That's when he realised that there was no longer a scrap of Plutis left in that body, now, it was something else. Its eyes were like black holes, boring into Sam's soul.
"You are Samuel Baychrist†It roared, purple smoke once again pouring out of its mouth. "You are the one with the Titan Beyblade, Dusk Astraeus. You are the one we want." Those eyes continued to drill into him, like a super-hot blowgun through pre-heated extra-soft butter. Sam felt like just falling asleep, just laying there and letting the darkness take him...
'NO YOU DON'T!' Shouted Astraeus, blasting the creature out of Sam's mind in a flash, sending a golden ray from its bey form toward the creature that was once Plutis; sending it reeling back in pain.
"Ahhhhhhgggggg!" Its scream was like a metal blade striking and scratching chalk, piercing Sam's hearing. The body stood up and now it glared at Sam, its eyes glowing red with fury and hatred.
"You!" It said in its raspy voice. "We need your body, your power, GIVE IT TO US!"
Sam was able to fight back the urge now, and shouted
"NO!" The creature continued to stare at Sam for a few long moments, until something that some people would describe as a smile crept onto his face, and evil thing full of wickedness and spite.
"Then I shall take it from you by force!" Said the creature and he pulled out Plutis' bey from the back pocket of its pants, Rend Pluto.
"I can defeat Pluto easily" Said Sam, almost laughing at the creatures naivness at its choice of bey.
"Not anymore." The creature grinned a toothy grin and Pluto started to spin in the palm of its hand, gaining speed until it eventually launched off its hand and flew directly at Sam. Sam's reflexes were incredible, with a fraction of a second he had his launcher at the ready and launched Astraeus at the approaching bey, a tail of golden light following it as it flew to defend Sam. There was a screech as the bey's collided and then an explosion that shook the chasm and send Sam sprawling back onto his knees. He looked up and saw Astraeus still spinning next to him, but Pluto charging toward them both with incredible power.
Sam was up in a flash and pointed at the approaching bey. "Astraeus, GO!" Astraeus ran straight at Pluto and the two beys collided in a flurry of sparks and clanging, both beys repelling each other, then going in for a second shot. This had never happened before, normally Astraeus was able to knock Pluto out with that first attack, how was it still spinning?
'Then again,' Sam thought, 'the creature did just launch a bey with insane accuracy and without the aid of a launcher, so anything could happen, right?' But whatever he was expecting, it was not this. A few seconds later Plutis rammed into Astraeus with enormous power and knocked it off balance, then with amazing speed went in for a second attack and sent Astraeus flying back a decent meter before charging forward again to try and finish the golden bey. But Sam was not one to give up.
"Astraeus, GO!" He yelled and Astraeus darted out of the path of Pluto, then turned around and rammed the bey, forcing it back. Then, with an amazing show of balance and power tilted on its metal ball tip and spun around and hit Pluto on the other side, sending the bey spiralling off course and off balance. He then started to go for the final attack.
"Astraeus, Special Move! Shinning Nova!" Astraeus glowed a blinding yellow, and pulled all the energy around it toward it, until it was on giant ball of shimmering energy. The ball flew with unbeaten speed at Pluto, and it seemed like the end for the bey. A second before the collision occurred, the creature shouted.
"Pluto, Portal Render!" Instantly Pluto disappeared, and the giant glowing ball that was Astraeus hit nothing, just shattering the stone where it hit and sending a shock wave so big that machines fell from high in the chasm down to the bottom of the pit with a colossal bang. Astraeus was left spinning where it had landed, surrounded by a pit of destruction. A second later Pluto appeared out of nowhere in the air above Astraeus, and flew down at it in a stream of blue. The was a flash, sparks and the sound of metal on plastic before Astraeus was flung back to where Sam was breathing heavily on his unsteady legs.
The creature laughed a rasping, echoing laugh that chilled Sam to the core. "Foolish mortal, it is not the bey that matters, but the power of the wielder."
Sam looked at him with disgust and anger. "I have been through all that 'Bladers Spirit' carp and I tell you it does nothing!" The creature laughed again.
"I am not talking about your petit 'Blader Spirit', I am talking about the power of the entire Crateor Tribe rolled into one being, ME! The mighty Chaos!"
Sam looked at the laughing creature before him, who he now knew as Chaos. He looked up and saw that Dusk had come; he last remnants of sunlight were still visible on the walls of the chasm. Sam smiled. Chaos saw that smile and stopped laughing, he was not meant to be smiling.
"Crush him; the I shall claim his beyblade as my own!" Pluto sped at Astraeus with the whole force it was capable of producing, the contact was expected in seconds, and yet Sam was still smiling.
"Look up" He said. Chaos looked up and saw dusk was upon them, and his eyes went wide with understanding. Dusk Astraeus was its strongest at dusk, invincible; some had called it, for it had never lost a battle during dusk.
'Not that he had lost a battle ever anyway’ Sam thought with triumph. "Astraeus, Dusk Blade!" Astraeus' bit-beast emerged and drew its sword, shimmering between darkness and light and ran at Pluto, bringing its blade down on the bey as they collided. There was brief screech, then the sound of shredding metal as Astraeus tore Pluto in half, cracking it's fusion wheel and destroying its performance tip. There was one final flash and scream as Chaos was hit by the power of Astraeus and then silence. The two halves of Pluto crashed to the floor, breaking further beyond repair. Chaos fell to his knees, his body shaking.
"No, I cannot loose. Not now." He said in his raspy voice, but in amongst all that darkness was pain, an unbearable pain. Chaos looked up at Sam with those dark eyes, and saw Astraeus fly back to his waiting hand, a smug smile of Sam's face.
"I must repair, heal, prepare." Said Chaos. "I shall take you all with me, this whole chasm, with me to darkness, to feel the pain I feel" He was talking fast and his body shaking, trembling. "This is not over Samuel Baychrist! The end will come, the silence will fall!" With that his body bulged and exploded with darkness, covering Sam and the whole Chasm. A golden barrier appeared between Sam and the darkness, shielding him. He looked up and saw Astraeus with his arms spread wide, taking in the darkness.
"Astraeus, no." He said weakly, before he fell to the floor, collapsed due to fatigue. Astraeus continued to stand up to the darkness, but his power was diminishing fast, and the darkness closed in.
You shall fall, become one with me and your power shall be mine!
"Sam!" Astraeus yelled, actually spoke. He broke the field and grabbed Sam in his grasp. He held him tightly and as the darkness encompassed them, all same saw was a mix of black and gold, and sparks flying and then everything went blurry, melding into one giant water picture. Strangely, at the last moments he lived, Sam felt the most enormous surge of energy, he felt like he was invincible, he could do anything. Then; he died. He heard a thousand screams of a thousand dying lives, then silence. The never ending silence...

Cold... So cold...
Samuel awoke with a start, his hands shaking, digging their own little hole in the sand around them.
Sand? Since when was I on sand? Sam sat up with a start, something pulled in his side, making him wince with pain. He looked around and scanned the horizon. Nothing but golden sand stretched for miles, not a person in sight. The sun's rays reflected from sand around him, making him extremely hot. His eyes turned down to him, his clothes were torn, barely holding on to his body. His hair was soaked with sweat, plastered to his face like melted cheese on toast. He raised his hand to block out the excruciating rays of the sun. He struggled to remember what had happened before, how he hand got here
Then it hit him. A fist. He did not even have time to say a muffled scream for help, not that anyone would hear him. Instead he blacked out instantly.
"Argh, wh... what happened?" Sam's eyes fluttered open, only to snap shut from the light that was shining directly into his them. After his eyes had adjusted somewhat, he sat up and looked around. He was in a dome shaped room, an old wood door sat on the far side and he, was obviously lying on a bed. There was almost nothing else in the room besides that, the floor was made of wood and the walls seemed to be made off a clay-like substance. Sam tried to get up, swinging his legs over the side of the bed and staring up at the roof. There was a strange type of light hanging from the roof, a crystal that was floating above him, and seemed to be completely self sufficient.
He stepped down onto the stone cold ground and unsteadily moved over to the only other furniture in the room, a desk with a mirror seated on the top of it. He inspected it, feeling the grooves that seemed to dance around the desk in intricate movements. This, this was the work of a master craftsmen. As he continued to follow the patters around the desk, he came to an unusual dip in the front of it. He followed the dip around, and found a small silver handle sitting in the centre of the desk, strange, he did not notice that before. He pulled it and a large compartment opened out, a draw. What was inside amazed him, dozens of assorted beyblade parts. Spin tracks, fusion wheels and even a few clear wheels. Sam began to shuffle through them, looking.
"Libra, flame, T125, 105, 145, HF, D125, F, Bull, storm, 100, poison" Sam murmured as he looked through them, feeling them and weighing each one in his head. "These are all legit, how did this person get so many?" He quickly formed a bey, StormLibraT125S. He was inspecting it and looking at the condition of the fusion wheel and tip when;
"Do you mind?" A female voice called out from behind him, her voice a mix of curiosity, amusement and a touch of anger. Sam dropped the bey and spun around, his hands braced on the back of the desk.
"I... Uh... I'm..." He took a deep breath. "My name is Samuel, Samuel Baychrist. His voice was horse, dry and dusky. He coughed to clear it and then looked up at the women. She had long, silky hair. It was not blonde, but more of a gold colour. Her face was smooth, unblemished. She was wearing a blue floral dress that had various swirls and patterns on it, it looked handmade and it complemented her eyes. She had the most brilliant blue eyes that Sam had ever seen, like the surface of a pond at dawn, with the light reflecting off it. But in those eyes he saw something else, something that tingled his memory. She coughed, and Sam realised that he had been staring at her, his mouth open just the smallest bit. He shook his head embarrassingly, and became very interested in his feet for a moment.
"Sam, you say you are?" She asked, her voice smooth, melodic. Sam looked up, avoiding her eyes.
"Yes, how about you?" The girl flicked her hair, it was then that he realised that she was not that old, but about his age.
"Lavender," she said, "Lavender Chimaris. I need to talk to you, but first I think you need to get changed." She said, glancing a bit further down Sam's body. Sam looked down and realised that his rags of clothes were not doing a very good job of hiding everything down there. He hurriedly covered himself and blushing a bright red, turning around so he didn't need to look at her. Lavender just smiled a little and turned to leave, before calling back;
"Your clothes are on the bed, sorry about the style but it's all I have." She exited the room with a full smile on her face, making it light up like a lamp post. When she was out of earshot from Sam she reached her hand into her dress pocket and whispered, seemingly to herself;
"Do you think that's him? The one that he belongs to?"
I am sure, I felt it as soon as I looked at him, and I think he felt it as well when he looked into your eyes, but just did not know what the feeling was. He appears to have lost his memory, a temporary effect of exposure to the time vortex; but he will get it back sooner enough. Lavender grinned, and pulled her hand out of her pocket. She looked around at the town for a second before she walked off, still grinning broadly.

Sam twisted the ivory knob on the door, hesitating before pushing it forward. He stepped outside and into... Nothing?
Sam looked around; all he could see was sand, sand and more sand. He turned around and looked behind him, and found nothing. Where the house that he had been in only a second before once was, there was now sand, just like the rest of this vast plain. He could not understand it, how did it just disappear?
"Where is your bey?" A voice said from behind him. Sam turned around to see Lavender standing behind him, her arms folded.
"My... Bey?" Sam closed his eyes and struggled to remember. Bey, beyblade, spinning top, Titan Bey, Stone, Chasm, Chaos... Why did all these words come into his head when he thought of the word bey?
"I... I can't remember..." He stuttered, shaking his head, his eyes on the ground. He shuffled his feet, and noticed how the sand underneath him shifted and seemed to shimmer with every movement. How is it doing that?
"Maybe this will jog your memory" Lavender said, stopping Sam's trail of thought. "Greek god, dusk;" She paused dramatically "Astraeus?" Sam's eyes went wide with shock, all colour drained from his face. He remembered; it was like a tidal wave of remembrance had just hit him. Hard.
"Astraeus..." He murmed. "Dusk Astraeus Gravity Bowl145 Metal Ball... The Titan bey of dusk, a very powerful bey... My bey..." His eyes ran up to meet Lavenders, again that strange presence was seen in her eyes, like something else was looking through them.
"Ahhh, you remember now." She said, smiling. "Took you a while, didn't it?" Sam reached for her, grabbing the front of her dress, and lifting her into the air.
"Where is he!" Sam shouted, where is Astraeus!" Red flames leapt from Lavender and onto Sam, they went down his arms and covered his whole body. A shock went through his arm, causing him to drop Lavender and fall to the ground writhing from pain. It felt like every muscle in his body had tightened and was being burned to fuel a non-existent fire. The pain lasted only until he broke contact with the girl, then the fire that was his muscles returned to a dull ache.
"Don't try to harm me, as much as your anger wants you to. I have both physical and physiological protection, so don't try and mind tricks either." She stared down at him, her eyes studying him closely. Sam met her gaze, once again staring into her eyes; the presence was still there, only now he knew what it was. Sam took a deep breath and got control over his anger, focusing on what he needed to do.
"You used the basic form of protection for an 'immortal', as they call us, the burning armour." Sam said, breaking eye contact with Lavender. He stood up, possibly too fast as some of the muscles were still sore from being burned. He looked at Lavender in the face, but avoiding her eyes. "They call us 'immortals' because we are unnaturally strong, have mild telepathic powers and almost no physical or physiological damage can come to us, but of cause, we are not actually immortal. We can die.â€
"Why do you think I am one of them?" Lavender replied simply, her voice showing some amusement from this game of 'connect-the-dots' that Sam was playing.
"Because I can see it in your eyes, I can hear it in your voice, I can sense it in your blood. Immortals can sense other immortals; we have to, as there are few of us." Sam continued to look at Lavender, watching her every move before he continued. "Do you know how you become an immortal, Lavender?" The girl smiled a girlish grin, making Sam heart miss a beat.
"Now how would I know a thing like that?" She said, continuing to seemingly enjoy Sam's constant efforts to get an answer out of her. She kept trying to lock eyes with Sam, but he always avoided her, focusing on any other part of her body but them.
"You become labelled as an 'immortal' by owning a specific type of beyblade, a beyblade that is commonly known as a 'Titan' beyblade." Still, her face remained expressionless apart from her smile, which thankfully Sam had gotten over. Mostly.
"A Titan bey, what is that?" She replied, putting on an innocent face, again trying to make eye contact, and again failing.
"A Titan beyblade is a bey that is one of the 5 beys that were born via the fusion of Omega LDrago and Legend Pegasis, 500 years ago." Still Lavander smiled with no change in emotion, so Sam continued. "To become and immortal you must have been chosen by one of these bey's as a worthy owner, and be in contact with it for a prolonged period of time. Dusk Astraeus is the Titan bey of dusk, my bey. I can sense power in you that I have no other being. I tried to harm you and you were protected by an invisible shield, and I can see another presence in your eyes, so I have no doubt that you do own one of the five Titan beys. The only question left is; which one?"
Sam's eyes wandered up and finally met eyes with Lavander, staring into them. Then he repeated, "Where is my bey." Lavander stopped smiling, and her eyes turned from that beautiful blue to and ice cold white, and still Sam kept contact with them. Lavender’s body began to shake, her muscles twitching. Her eyes glazed over and she fell onto the sand, her body spasming and writhing. Her eyes closed and her body began to glow a soft yellow, Sam stepped back a few paces and watched as the soft yellow turned into a brilliant gold. Wafts of smoke began to flow out of her body, quickly dissipating in the dry, dessert air. Lavender started coughing rapidly and uncontrollably, she rolled on her side and continued coughing until slowly, the smoke that was drifting around her turned into the familiar shape of Astraeus' bit beast. It stood there for a second before it too, disappeared and with one final cough, Dusk Astraeus rolled out of her mouth and sat on the sand next to her. Lavanders body stopped moving and her eyes opened. She groaned and rolled over, clumsily reaching into her pocket and drawing out a bey, her bey. As she held it, it glowed an orange and white colour; she stopped trembling, her eyes returned to normal and she lifted her head to look at Sam, who was still standing over her. He held out his hand for her, and she grabbed it and hauled herself up, leaning unsteadily on him. She held out her hand, and in it sat a bey. Dawn Eos; the bey of dawn and the counterpart to Dusk Astraeus. With that her hand closed and he collapsed on his shoulder, unconscious. Sam looked up from her to find a man, holding his hand out to him. He wasn't extremely old, only about forty, but still sign's of grey hair were shown. In his hand sat Astraeus, and as Sam took the bey out of his hands, the whole dessert changed. He looked around to see hundreds of eyes peering at him from dozens of houses, on the street and from stalls set up on the roadside. Astraeus glowed in his hand and Sam looked around at the new city that had just appeared before his eyes. He knew immediately that this was the city of legends, the home of beyblade.
He had found Coma Village.

"Wait... What?" Sam looked at the man sitting across the table from him with a strange mix of confusion, understanding and disbelief. The man, who Sam now knew as Berigger, lifted one of his bushy grey eyebrows at him.
Sam had been sitting in Berigger's house for a decent few hours, as the man tried to explain what had happened to him, while asking him questions about his 'destiny' and all that. Sam was eger at first, but lost interest at the 4 hour mark. That he had managed to stay assertive for that long, according to Lavender, was a feat in itself. She had been sitting quietly next to Berigger, who was her father, since she had woken up at around the 1 1/2 - 2 hour mark. She had been staring into nowhere for a large percentage of the time she was conscious, seemingly somewhere between reality and sleep. Her face was constantly changing, from shock, to pain, to surprise, to enjoyment and any other emotion possible, and Berigger seemed to take no notice of this weird fact.
"So your saying, that I have been sent back in time by an evil ruler the world who was awoken in my time, and Astraeus saved me by bringing me here and wiped my memory" Sam shook his head; "Why?"
"Well actually;" Berigger started, as he had all his lectures. "The evil ruler, who has seemingly gone by the name of Chaos, is the combined spirit of all the Crateor tribe and not a ruler, as currently he has no followers; but he is sure to gain some. And it was not likely he tried to send you back in time, more likely that he tried to kill you and Astraeus saved you by sending you into a different time frame than him, and the mind wipe was just an after effect." He said all this rather cheerily, for someone who is talking about death and killing people. Sam groaned and hit his head on the table. So much information...
Samuel... Samuel Baychrist...
Sam's head shot up, and met the eyes of Chaos, glaring into his, his eyes like black holes trying to suck him into their icy cold depths of death...
Give me Astraeus... Give me his power!
Chaos walked toward him, his arms straggling by his side like they were broken, purple smoke poured out of his mouth. Sam reached around to his pocket to grab out Astraeus, but was met with a burning sensation. Sam yelled and pulled out his hand, his pale skin already blistering. He had been burnt; Astraeus had burnt him, when he went to touch him. He couldn't use his bey, his own bey had rejected him! Chaos laughed a raspy laugh, his voice echoing around the room;
How amusing, you own bey has disowned you, decided that you are not worthy of its power. How fitting.
Chaos grinned broadly, his teeth bearing in an animal like fashion. He lunged at Sam, his hands turned into knives, their blades so sharp they cut through the air like butter. It was only a second before contact, before he died...
"Eos!"
Sam felt a tremendous heat bearing down on him, but no pain. He opened his eyes to see Lavender standing there, holding out Dawn Eos, brilliant light flowing from it. Golden clouds surrounded them both, and there was no sign of Chaos. The light coming from Eos disappeared, and Sam found himself back in the room, he felt the stone hard ground around him. He traced the walls and realised he was in a corner, the furthest corner of the room. His right hand was blistered, badly.
It was real...
That was all he though before he collapsed into the corner, unconscious.

I really don't know what is going on anymore. My life has been turned upside down. One day I am digging for the key to hidden power, and then the next I am running from that very same power, in an unknown place and worst of all. My best friend, my beyblade has abandoned me.
Sam was sitting on his bed in the room that Berigger had given him while he recovered. His hand was still burn from touching Astraeus. But worse than the pain in his hand, was the pain in his heart. His best friend had left him, the one he looked to in times of trouble and doubt. Now in his greatest time of grief, Astraeus wasn't there for him.
Sam heard a knock at the door, he ignored it. He did not feel like company right now.
"Sam, I know you’re in there." Lavender's voice called out from behind the door. "Can I come in?" She knocked again.
Sam opened his eyes, and looked to the door. He was not going to get any peace this way. He stood up slowly and walked toward the door, pulling up the large wooden bar that locked it. As Sam looked out from the doorway he saw Lavender, just standing there.
"Finally, can I come in now?" She said breathing a sigh of relief at seeing that Sam was still alive. She had good reason to as well. Sam had practically isolated himself from the world for the days after the incident in the meeting room, coming out for only occasional food and drink. Sam looked at her and nodded, moving out of the path of the doorway so she could enter. Lavender stepped through and went and sat on a spare chair that was sitting beside his desk.
"How are you feeling?" She asked.
"Fine" Replied Sam, even though they both knew that he wasn't.
"Look, I know you are feeling bad about what happened a few days ago, but its fine. You’re not going to die from having your bey taken away from your temporarily."
Sam looked at her as if she was an alien, an outcast.
"How would you know what it's like to have your best friend taken from you, even worse reject you after you have been through so much together" Sam hissed though his teeth, struggling not to lash out at Lavender, she did not deserve that. Not yet, anyway. "Astraeus has been the only one that carried me though hard times, gave me hope. Now he has left me forever, alone in this godforsaken place." Sam took a deep breath, and hung his head.
"You really are thick sometimes, aren't you? For a world acknowledged archaeologist you need to learn to listen more."
Sam's head snapped up, his eyes glaring at Lavender. What did she just say?
"What?" Sam snapped angrily, "you say I need to learn to listen?"
"Yes†Replied Lavender simply. "I said that you’re not going to die of having your bey taken away from you temporarily"
Sam was about to shout at her to get out, when he saw her point.
"What do you mean, temporarily? I can get Astraeus back?"
"Finally! The penny drops! Took you a while, didn't it?"
"Answer my question." Sam said sharply, impatient to start the thing that will get back his partner.
"Fine, yes. You can get Astraeus back. Really I can't see how you could think you couldn't. The Titan Beys appear only to very specific people, very rare people. They do not let go of those people easily. Astraeus is just tired and confused. You need to remember, he travelled through time and space to protect you, you seriously think he is going to abandon you?"
Now that Sam looked at it, it really was stupid he could even think that. He can't even remember how he got that idea in the first place.
"How do I get him back then?" Sam had calmed down, and was not listening intently to what Lavender was saying.
"Astraeus came to you in a time of need, correct?" Said Lavender
"Yes." Replied Sam simply.
"Well, he will return to you in a time of need. Simple as that."
Sam looked at her, confused.
"Well, I am in need now and he is not here"
"’Need’ can be interpreted many ways. He is a beyblade, so he will most likely come to you when you need a beyblade"
"I am beybalde-less now, so why doesn't he just appear?"
Lavender slapped he forehead. Why was he so stupid?
Lavender put her hand into her coat pocket and pulled out a sheet of paper and handed it to Sam. As Sam grabbed it and unrolled it, he saw the words;
'321st COMA VILLAGE ANNUAL BEYBLADE TOURNEMENT!
Come all bladers and test your skills to find out who is the strongest blader in Coma Village!'
Sam looked at Lavender, he face was smug.
"But I don't have a bey to begin with, how can I enter?"
Lavender dug into the pocket on the other side of her coat and pulled out a small hand carved box, locked with a small lock. Lavender reached around her neck and pulled her necklace off. On the end was a small key. Sam recognised the mineral it was made out of as jade. Lavender pressed the key into the hole and twisted; once to the right, twice back to the left and then right once more. The box sprung open and the sides folded out, so there was a small workbench with little boxes on all sides. Sam peered at the now open box and as lavender lifted the lids on the sides, he saw possibly 50 of clear wheel and spin tracks, at least a dozen fusion wheel ‘s and god knows how many performance tips. Sam's eyes boggled at the sight.
"So†Lavender said proudly, "we better get started"

"Gimme a look through those damn glasses!" A hideous figure grabbed at a pair of binoculars that were in the hands of an possibly even more hideous humanoid figure. The figure with the glasses shoved the grabbing hand away and grabbed its owner by the collar of its shirt.
"You wanna look through these?" It said, waving the binoculars in the creatures face. "Here you go!" He shoved them into the creature’s face, the hard steel making contact with the skull.
"Owwww!" The creature yelled, reeling back. "That hurt!"
"It was meant to, dipstick!" Replied the second creature. "Now go back to your hole, I'm on lookout†The first creature made a whining noise, getting down onto all fours.
"Master made us both equal, that makes us equal shares." He complained.
"But he made me with a higher intelligence." The second creature stated. "I get the intelligent jobs"
"You’re just a pile of mixed up old body parts†Sniggered the first creature. "The master brought you to life in a graveyard"
"And he brought you to life from the gargoyle at the front of ya mamma's porch" Countered the second creature, who continued to peer down off the cliff through the binoculars.
"My Mamma doesn’t have a gargoyle†Replied the first creature, sounding confused. "Or a house for that matter"
The second creature took the time to roll his eyes in the binoculars before continuing on with his duties
"Do I even have a mother?" The first creature mumbled to himself, looking even more confused.
The second creature had to laugh at that comment
"You did, I think I have her liver†The first creature looked up, his eyes filled with fury.
"You take that back!" He lunged at the first creature, his blood red hands reaching for his neck
"Settle down you lumpy pieces of toxic waste!" Shouted a third voice from behind the two creatures, and an actual humanoid walked out of a crevice in the rock. Both creatures turned and bowed to him, cowering in fear.
"If you two idiots can't learn to get along like good little demons then you will both need to face the master and tell him why we failed to kill the boy." The man was mocking them, showing his dominance over them.
Both creatures kept their heads bowed, but the one with the binoculars spoke in a low tone
"The boy has emerged from his house, a large gathering of humans are coming to a bey stadium in the centre of the town, the boy will almost certainly be there."
The man nodded, then turned his back and returned to the crevasse he came. "Prepare your beys†He said. "We attack at daybreak"
There was no mistaking the unearthly shouts and screams of the two creatures as they ran around the cliff in excitement, barely able to wait for the massacre that was to occur the following morning...

"Libra!"
Storm Libra ran once more at the opposing bey, Grand Lacerta. The wheels of the two beys were in contact for only a second before Lacterta was driven into a floor scrape, running itself out of the brown clay stadium it was in. The crowd cheered, and Libra returned to Sam's hand.
"And the challenger Samuel has flown through the preliminary round, securing him a place in semi-finals against the almighty Victor!" Sam slid down the slope of the stadium and shook hands with his opponent, congratulating him on his effort. The young boy just sulked and walked off. Sam shrugged. 'Kids these days', he thought to himself. As he climbed out of the stadium, a hand extended down to help him up. Sam grabbed it and used it to haul himself up. Standing up straight, Sam saw Lavender smiling in front of him.
"Nice move there, you seem to have gotten used to that bey pretty quickly."
"It's not that hard, I just need to remember that Libra isn't as heavy as Astraeus. I keep trying to do my normal strategies against my opponent, but Libra just doesn't have the smash that Astraeus does."
"Well you better learn fast, because you’re up next†Lavender indicated to the massive board that represented his block in the tourney. Sam was now on top of the board, his name was next to another. 'Victor'
"Victor huh, must be a decent blader to have made it this far." Said Sam
"Very capable.†Replied Lavender. "Second best in the Village in fact."
"Who's the best?" Asked Sam, his attention turning back to Lavender.
"Beat Victor and you will find out†Said Lavender, smiling that smile that conveyed the feeling of 'I know something you don't'. Sam just nodded.
"Ok, I will."
"Samuel, please make your way to stadium C." Announced the Blader DJ. Sam said his farewells to Lavender and headed in the direction of Stadium C, the last stadium in the tournament house.
The Tournament House was the centre of all Beyblading in Coma Village. When Lavender first took him to it in order to test out his bey, Sam was in awe of the massive stone arches that bended over the whole arena, and the intricate patterns of long forgotten beys battling that were engraved into every square inch of the place. It was just one of the many wonders of ancient Coma Village.
Sam stepped up onto the pedestal at his end of the stadium. He looked across at the boy standing on the opposite him, he looked of about 16-17 years of age. He had dark red hair, so dark that it appeared nearly brown. His hair spiked up in seemingly random tufts, and streaks of black appeared here and there. One of the spikes covered his left eye, so only his right eye was showing. That eye was a light grey, contrasting with his darkish hair. He wore a black leather jacket that went down to his hands. Underneath he wore a plain grey shirt and a red necklace shaped in the form of a lizard. Its eyes were however, an ice blue. He wore black tight jeans and shiny black heeled boots. He had a determined look in his eye, the kind of look that defined the strong for the weak. Despite his darkish look, the boy did not seem to be anything more than a tough opponent, nothing that Sam detected as darkish, evil even. Yet he could still sense that something was not quite right here.
"Bladers, beys at the ready!" Shouted DJ, actually stepping back a little as he said it. "3...2...1..."
"Go Shoot!" Shouted Sam and the boy, both launching their beys. There was a shockwave as both boys’ beys left its launchers prongs. Then, the explosion. Sam was thrown backwards; he felt his face scrape against the floor as he slid face first away from the stadium. His skin singed as the heat from the blast burn it. When the ringing in his ears started to wear off and the heat of the blast had subdued he opened his eyes. Painfully, but he did all the same. The arena was in ruins, the leader board was half gone and no other life seemed to be in sight. Sam however, sensed movement from the bey stadium. He straggled towards it, cradling one of his arms that appeared to be dislocated. He peered into it, being careful not to accidentally fall into it. Rocks littered the stadium, but a bey was still spinning in the centre.
'How did he do that?' Sam looked horrified at the bey in the centre. How could the boy do this much damage? And why?
"What did you do that for?" A voice angrily shouted from just beyond where Sam was looking. The boy was there, his hair messed up and a large scar across his right cheek. The spike of hair that normally covered his eye had been blown back to reveal his left eye. Both of them were practically red with anger, his mouth tightened shut in fury.
"Why in hell did you want to blow this place up?" The boy shouted, getting angrier by the second. "What kind of monster are you?"
"I didn't do this, you did!" Sam shouted back. "Your bey is the one still spinning!"
"That is not my bey!" Replied the boy sharply. "It’s yours! Lazerus is here!" The boy held up a very strangle looking bey. It had a dark red fusion wheel that spiked out in a clockwise direction, there were 15 spikes in total and every second one was slightly smaller than its former. Its clear wheel depicted two lizards, each one biting the others tail in a ring.
Sam looked at the bey spinning in the middle. It was defiantly not Libra.
"No its not!" Yelled Sam back. The boys face went from anger to puzzlement.
"It must be; who else could it be?"
Sam was about to yell a reply went the bey that was spinning in the centre jumped out of the stadium and sped towards a gap in one of the fallen pillars. As it was about to reach it, a scaly hand launched itself out and grabbed it, pulling the bey in. The pillar was lifted and a hideous, barely humanoid figure emerged. He, or it, appeared to have no eyes or mouth. Instead of skin it had scales and shone black, green and red in the light. It had only remnants of clothes on, a pair of tattered brown pants that were stained with red. In its hand it held a beylauncher and grip, a bey loaded onto it. Then, the skin on its face split apart and Sam saw that it did indeed have a mouth, with rows of sharp spiny teeth. A blue forked tongue flicked out and the creature spoke.
"Fresh meat!" It called; its voice a hissing rasp. The creature raised its arm and hand went to its launcher, about to pull back.
"Stop, you fool!" A voice called from behind Sam. Another barely humanoid figure emerged. "What do you think you are doing? You were meant to take out the red haired boy so I can kill the target!" This figure was more human, but its head was hanging to one side. One of its arms was limp and its nose looked broken. To Sam it looked like a stereotypical zombie.
"Why should you get all the fun?" The snake creature hissed. "I could have taken both of them out if you had not got in my way!"
"You disobeyed a direct order from the master; you should be hung on a stake!"
"Your momma should be hung on a stake!" Shouted the snake creature, stalking forward. The zombie slapped its head, making it wobble from side to side.
"Why do I even bother?" He said. "Just take out the boy on the pillar, I'll do Titan boy". The snake creature let out an angry hiss, then turned to the boy on the pillar.
"Fine, this should be easy. Come here child so I can make your life a living hell!" The creature launched his bey at the broken pillar the boy was standing on. The boy leapt backwards, doing an amazing display of acrobatics and back flips. He landed on his feet facing the lizard creature. His eyes were burning with hatred. The pillar that he was previously on collapsed and the creatures bey sat spinning on a flat piece of stone.
"I am not a child, I am Victor Kellinham!" The boy, Victor, shouted. He launched his bey at the opposing beyblade. Victor's bey smashed into the snake creatures’ bey, sending it flying of the stone platform and down to the creature, who looked stunned that his bey had been knocked off. Victor’s bey returned to circle around him, and Victor looked smug.
"Lazerus and I will not be beat by the lowly likes of you." Said Victor, his anger turning into sheer determination to defeat this creature’s bey. The creature’s mouth split again into a wide, toothy grin.
"What’s this then, Lazerus you say? You think you have what it takes to defeat my Severus?" Severus? Lazerus? Sam had never even heard of these beys before. What in Pegasus’ name was going on?
"BladeLazerus85EXF" Victor replied. "We are number 2 in Coma Village, we can beat anything you can throw at us." Victor smiled, "Apart from your looks, nothing can fix that" The creatures smile turned from a grin into a hideous scowl.
"ScarSeverusWA130WF, show this punk who he is talking to." Sam watched as the two beys ran at each other, colliding in a shower of sparks that flew in every direction. As Sam watched he saw something coming at him, in a split second he threw himself to the ground and a bey flew and hit the spot where he was standing less than a second before. The zombie thing had launched his bey at him, aiming to do harm to him.
"GraveZombisFR145EWD, let’s see your precious Titan Bey protect you from this!" The zombie laughed. Sam just looked at him in disgust.
"What are you?" Asked Sam. The zombie laughed a horrible gasping laugh.
"I am Death, and my dim-witted accomplice over there is Sin. We work for the master of darkness, and we do his will. Now, I must destroy you, unless your little Titan Bey has something to say about it?"
Sam's heart sunk. This zombie was going to kill him. He had no bey to defend him and Victor was the only other person conscious by the looks of things, and he was a bit occupied. Sam couldn't run with his arm as it was, there was nowhere to hide. Zombis rushed at Sam, he could do nothing. Nothing but watch as his death came closer, second by second.
This looked like the end for Samuel Baychrist.

Sam closed his eyes, prepared for the end. This was it, no escape, nowhere to run. He heard Zombis coming closer, any second now it was going to make contact with Sam and that would be the end of it. Somehow through all the haze of panic and sadness however, Sam couldn't help but feel that this was not him. It was not like him to give up even when all odds were against him. That single thought gave Sam the strength to realise that he was not meant to die this way, cowering on the floor waiting to just die. If he was to die, he would do it in battle, using all of his strength. Sam focused on that and opened his eyes. Zombis was running at him, it ran up a piece of fallen stone and launched itself into the air. It changed direction in mid-flight and sped towards Sam, he could almost feel the lust and hunger radiating from the bey.
"NO!" Sam shouted, and with all his might through himself aside, rolling painfully across the ground. He got up on one knee and saw Zombis crash into the stone where he had just lain, shattering it. Sam grabbed his broken arm and yelled with all his might.
"I will not give up!" he lunged at Zombis, bringing the fist of his good arm down onto it. There was a second of silence before a stunning golden light erupted quite painfully from all over Sam's body. He fell to the ground, screaming in pain. Yet at the same time, he felt his arm click back into it's shoulder socket and the burns on his hands vanished. The scars on his back disappeared and all the pain and heartache Sam had been carrying left him in seconds. The pain disappeared also. Sam opened his eyes. His skin was fine; the unhealthy tinge it had gathered throughout the weeks here had gone. He raised his hands to inspect them. Where on his right hand the burns that Astraeus left last time he touched him had been, now sat the symbol of Astraeus, a sword with a helmet behind it. Sam stood up in amazement. All was better; it was like his body had fixed itself.
Or something had fixed it for him.
Sam looked up into the sky, yet he didn't know why. A golden comet was flying down from the clouds, heaven. Sam knew what it was. His angel had come. He reached out his hand and the comet landed in it was a mighty bang, golden flames racing past Sam yet not hurting him. As Sam opened his palm, Astraeus shone there; bright as ever, glittering in the light of dusk.
Sam looked across at Death, who was standing there with his mouth unhinged, gawking at Sam. Sam grinned and held up his bey.
"Now, let's see how your dirty tricks work on an even playing field shall we?" Sam's voice was confident, he felt like he had before the accident. he felt powerful, in control. The top of the world. Death clicked his jaw back into place, and glowered at Sam.
"Zombis, get him!" He shouted, pointing at Sam. Sam reached for his launcher and loaded Astraeus into it.
"Go Shoot!" Shouted Sam, Astraeus flying from his launcher like a golden arrow and smashing into Zombis. The force sent it flying and crashing at Death's feet, unmoving. Death cursed and picked up his beyblade, running into the darkness of the corner of the stadium to hide.
"Sin, pull pack!" He rasped as he vanished into the inky blackness. A second later ScarSeverus returned to Sin's hand and he ran after Death, whining about how he had not finished with the 'Little Red Runt', which Sam thought was Victor. Victor's bey returned to his hand as he saw Sin disappear into the blackness as well. As sonn as Sin had entered the shadow it disappeared and light returned. Astraeus flew back to Sam's hand as Victor walked over.
"How did they disappear like that?" Sam asked.
"Shadow Manipulator." Replied Victor. "The army of terror perfected them near the end of the war a couple of hundred years ago. They were the army's main method of transport, effective too. Anywhere there was a shadow they could send troops and men to attack and hide."
"What war?" Sam asked, but he already guessed the answer.
"The war against the Crateor tribe." Victor said. "They sought to make the ultimate bey, and they saw that power in darkness while we saw it in the light.
Sam nodded. Just as he thought. He had not escaped Chaos entirely. He was only a mere few hundred years since the end of the war, and Chaos still had supplies around most likely.
Sam looked around and saw people starting to emerge from behind rocks and out of the crumpled stone stands. He had a lot of explaining to do. Things were about to get a whole lot worse though, and Sam knew it.
And he knew what he had to do.
"NO!" Sam shouted, and with all his might through himself aside, rolling painfully across the ground. He got up on one knee and saw Zombis crash into the stone where he had just lain, shattering it. Sam grabbed his broken arm and yelled with all his might.

Sam looked over the vast mountainside that surrounded Coma Village, feeling as the cold morning air prickled his skin. The mountains that stood before him dipped slightly to forma a sort of crevasse. Sam could see a clear path through the mountains; he could be away and safe in a day.
But he couldn't go. He couldn't just leave the village as it lay, in ruin. The beyblade stadium, the heart of the village, was literally falling apart. Large wooden spokes had to be placed to keep whatever remnants of the building were still standing stable. Food supplies were low, and many people were injured by falling rocks from the collapse of the stadium. The village was in its worse shape since the war.
Are you sure about this? A familiar voice echoed in his head.
We don't have a choice. Chaos will keep getting stronger and stronger, and will eventually attack the village. When that happens, nothing will stop him. No one has the power to. He will destroy the village and rewrite history, a history where Coma Village does not exist in my time.
I agree, but you are still not full health, although my may feel it. You can rest for a while before setting off.
I am fine. Sam said. My wounds have healed.
I did not mean your physical state. I meant are you fine mentally? Sam did not reply, but just stared out over the path that he was about to take. It was a long winding gravel path; one could easily slip and fall.
Much like the path I am deciding to take with my life. It is dangerous, and I could easily fall, but it is the only way to get to where I need to be. Sam pondered to himself.
He reached down and picked up his bag that was sitting at his feet, feeling the cold and slightly damp drawstrings press against his shoulder when he threw it over his arm.
"Just where do you think you’re going?" Sam turned around to face Lavender. She looked different, her hair was tied back and the dress she normally wore was replaced with a blank white T-shirt, denim shorts that were bordering on too short and a navy blue half jacket. She wore a pair of mid-height brown heeled shoes and a bag like Sam's slung over her shoulder.
"Where are you going?" Sam asked, although he already knew the answer.
"With you, you can't do this on your own"
"I perfectly well can, we discussed this and you are not coming."
"Well lets save the discussion this time then and just let me come with you."
Sam looked at her. Why did she want to come so much? Sam had secretly wanted her to come, but he had kept that thought silent. Now, she wasn't going to leave him alone. He sighed.
"Let's go then; we can't waste any more time." Lavender nodded and fell into stride after Sam.
"So, if I'm coming then it is ok if I bring a plus one?" She said it as more of a statement then a question.
"Pus one?" Sam asked just as he saw a dark red haired boy emerge from the bushes a few meters away. Sam glared at Lavender. "Why did you bring him?"
"She didn’t bring me, I brought myself." Victor said with a slight smile on his face. He too carried a travel bag across his shoulder, and in his hand he held a beyblade. Sam just shook his head.
"Any more surprises Lavender?" Sam said in defeat of the girl’s persistence
"Not right now, but later maybe." Sam took that as a 'yes'. He started walking with Lavender and Victor next to him. After a few minutes they got into a conversation about the rotation speed of a beyblade and were talking like old friends. For once all thoughts of Chaos and the battle to come had left Sam's mind.
But that was soon to change.

Sam looked around, surrounding him were immense stone walls that gave the impression of an eerie evil. The walls scaled right up to the top of some of the mountains, making Sam feel nervous about the large possibility of a rockslide. He was eager to get out of here.
"Well, here we are." Said Victor; stopping and sitting down on a nearby rock. He had been walking ahead for about ten minutes, apparently looking for something.
"Where are we?" Sam asked looking around again. What was so special about this place that they needed to stop? Victor looked at him.
"You said you wanted to find a place to set up camp, so here we are. This is the best camping site for days in any direction." Sam lifted an eyebrow.
"Really, where will be put our tents?" He asked sceptically. He did not see anything special about this place; if anything it seemed inept for human occupation. Victor pointed towards to sky.
"Up†He said, pushing off the rock he was sitting on and finding a hole in the stone wall to climb. Sam watched as, like a spider, he quickly scaled the wall.
"Show off†Sam heard Lavender mutter behind him. All the way from Coma village, Victor and her had been arguing about who had the most skill, blading and otherwise. Each threw out impressive comments about their individual feats but in the end lavender one with the simple question "What number are you in Coma Village again?†Sam looked back up at the wall, Victor was about 20 meters off the ground now. He then proceeded to stop and pull himself up onto a ledge. He looked down at Sam and Lavender.
"If we follow this ledge along for about 1 kilometre we will find a set of steps you two can climb up." He walked of across the ledge he was on with ease, Sam and Lavender followed. Sure enough, about 10 minutes later Sam was walking up a set of steps to join Victor on a flat part of the wall. As he looked down, the height reminded him of the pit back in his time, where the Crateor Stone was hidden. He shuddered at the thought. Lavender gave him a push and Sam turned to see Victor walking off towards a little cave in the wall, it looked about 1 square meter tall and wide, just enough for Sam to fit through comfortably. The cave smelt of damp and moss, Sam swore his hand touched something furry crawling in there as well. Lavender was behind him, and Sam smirked when she told him to shake his tail and get a move on. When he emerged on the other side after Victor, Sam stretched him back out and stood. He looked over the place where Victor had led them. They were in a large cavern that had been worn away by the stream that flowed through the middle of the clearing. Small shrubs grew on even smaller patches of soil near the far side of the rock. Vines grew all over the roof of the cave and the walls. In the centre, however, was a large stone bowl in the ground. A makeshift beyblade stadium. Victor was on one side, dropping his gear and laying on it. Lavender and Sam were just staring at the place that they never knew existed. Carefully stepping over the rocks and gravel, Sam sat next to Victor.
"How did you know this place existed?"
"I train here†Victor replied with his eyes closed. "This is my hidden sanctuary. You guys are the first people I have ever showed it to." His large fringe covered most of his face, but Sam could have sworn that Victor smirked when he said that.
"Beyblade train?" Lavender asked
"Is there any other?" Said Victor; moving into a more comfortable position. "This place is totally self-sufficient. We could live here, grow our own food and there is a stream over to the right with fresh water; and a stadium to amuse ourselves. Remember this place, we may need to come back if ever anything goes... wrong." Sam nodded. He knew what Victor meant. If anything happened and Chaos found out about their plan they had been formulating then this would be their retreat. A second home.
"Well, why don't we battle then?" Lavender said. "There is a stadium, so lets go!" She stood up and had her launcher out. "Then I will prove I am a more powerful blader!" Victor just yawned.
"I'm tired, tomorrow." He said, faking being bored. Lavender scowled.
"You were complaining about how my win to you was a fluke at the Grand Tourney, prove it to me! Beat me again!"
"Lavender, we have been travelling for three days, give it a rest. We will battle in the morning." Lavender sighed an impatient sigh and sat down.
She is an impatient one. Astraeus spoke to Sam in his mind. Just like her bey.
You don't say? Sam thought back. She has so much energy that she might explode.
She hasn't battled for weeks; you would be like her if you hadn't battle for more than a few days.
Oh quiet. Thought Sam, Astraeus laughed. The morning would bring new life.
