If you know in advance that you will be late, please post in this thread or contact someone at the event and depending on the circumstances we can perhaps still include you if we know you will arrive soon.

I will not be accepting any player, pre-registered or not past 12:30pm!!

Participants: This event will cap out at 16 players

Stadium: The BX-10 Xtreme Stadium

Other Information:

Pre-Registration: As this event has a participant cap, you are highly encouraged to register online ahead of time. This requires a WBO account, which you can find more information about here: Account Registration Guide

Please come prepared. It is helpful for both hosts and judges if all participants bring official Takara Tomy or Hasbro-manufactured Beyblades of their own and more than one launcher when possible. Additionally, parents of children under the age of 13 must be present for the duration of the event, as tournament end times can be difficult to estimate, and we would hate for someone to be left behind once it is over.

Be aware of your belongings. We'd advise users to please, please look after your stuff. While yes this is a Beyblade tournament and we're not suggesting that any of us would attempt to take each other's stuff it is still happening at a public venue where other people (who may not be so friendly) are going to be present as well. Of course, if you see a personal belonging lying around bring it up any of the judges so we can return it to the right person. Your co-operation is appreciated!

All players must arrive on-time. The tournament will begin no later than 12:00 PM and is expected to run for about 3 hours. Please plan accordingly. If you do not arrive at the scheduled start time, you risk being excluded from the tournament. The software we use to run our events–Challonge–does not allow us to add in extra participants once the tournament has started.

Hello! We've never been to one of these before, my boys (6 and 9) just discovered them. I see that the "participant cap" for this Sunday's meetup has been reached.

Are there enough no-shows (or "day of" spots?) that it'd make any sense to go and see? Is there another Richmond group that organizes tournaments?
I’m new to this and my son was hoping to participate. Does the “participant gap reached” mean the event is full? Should I gamble a drive (90 minutes one way) on Saturday on the chance there will be an opening?

It is wonderful that you are supporting your sons interests. Because you say that you've never been to one before I would like to mention this link

It is a q and a for parents for tournaments. It has some good information that's worth reading.

Regarding day of spots, I can say that typically one or two people don't show. But we also typically have a few on a wait list. The organizer Garishi would have more info on what that might look like. Beyond the tournament itself there is a lot of free play and it is pretty fun. The ages usually range the entire gambit but it is a very encouraging environment. So if it is worth going for a chance to be in the tournament is entirely a personal decision, and is up to them if they would be okay not competing and just playing with others because there is a fair chance that would happen.

I don't know of any other Richmond groups. The other groups I know of currently are either in Maryland or North Carolina. A West Virginia one is starting up, and maybe a Virginia beach one eventually.

I hope I was able to answer your questions.

It is a q and a for parents about tournaments and has some good information. The participant cap reached does mean the tournament is full. 90 minutes is a fairly long drive, and there is no guarantee about getting to compete since the cap has been reached. But there is free play and a lot of people of all ages usually to be able to battle with outside of the tournament itself.

I don't know what the wait-list looks like, the organizer Garishi would have a better idea of that. I wouldn't put the chances high that he would get a spot based on prior experience, but I honestly don't know what it currently looks like.

And I would like to say that it is wonderful that you are supporting your son's interests and would even contemplate making that drive for him.
Sorry guys something came up today and won’t be able to get there today, hope everyone still has a good tournament 💪🏻
