Just like how when you grow up, you don't remember a lot of things in the past, but those things have influenced you and caused you to become who you are now. I think I've absorbed a lot of anxiety at my house, with all the things going on with my family.

The slip means that the package requires a signature at drop off, and usually you can sign the slip and leave it for the postman to pick up unless it requires a person-to-person drop off.
Seeing how apparently you didn't notice the mailman come and knock/ring the doorbell, perhaps they were unable to come up due to the aforementioned snow.
Out for delivery just means that the package is in the truck circulation and should be coming to you once the receive a green light from the signature that you give them either in person or left behind for the postman to pick up.
Eh, is it okay if my mom took the slip, and wants to go to the post office to get it? Usually, that's how it works in my region. I usually never sign the slip, mostly because of the weather conditions right now.
But, thanks for the help!
