Be patient, if people like your story they will post on it. My story just got much more popular around its eighth chapter.

My heart aches knowing that you think the great Keanu Reeves creeps you out. A bit ironic considering your a bionic duck...

Back to that money situation, I am intent on spending it this Sunday. Havent made a purchase in a while, and I am very behind.
The paper its standard 8 1/2" by 11" paper. I hope I find something soon...
Cut the paper in bands.
I have tried allot of different ways to cut But is their a good strategy? I find it easy to make tall but not stable, it needs to be stable. We only have 25 min to do it, so yeah.....

Uhh, how is it ironic? Look at the guy in my avatar, the one holding me. Now he's hot! Tongue_out

I sure wish I had money. The guy who lived next door used to pay me a buck a week to take in his trash, but he moved. Unhappy Now my wallet is completely empty except for a few pennies. Woe is me. Crying
Keanu, not hot (No homo). And to think I thought that ducks have good eyesight (Seriously, they do).
I said very clearly that I wanted the quality of posts in this thread to go up. No one listened.

I will now begin assigning warnings for insipid, pointless, or blatantly-OP-ignoring posts. This thread is not a chatroom.

Either bring the quality up or I will see to it that this thread is closed.
Not sure if this is the right place to say this, but I completely forgot I had an account here. So, whats changed in the year I was gone?
Well I'm mad today. Yesterday I was asking people about that paper tower, right? Today I went all out solo when making the tower. I succeeded. Well , actually, missing it by 1/4".

I missed 100% by 1/4". I made the tower 35 3/5" tall...

Ugh.

But anyways I still get a 95%.

I was shaking so much when I was building. I cared about my,grade SO much.

Adding a bit, I want to say that there has been an increase in banned members. Or steady that's what I think. I just want to see if anyone sees that too...

The number of banned members usually only goes up with time. I think the thing is, people are getting banned a little bit faster than they used to be...
We've had quite a large influx of accounts made by people deliberately trying to get banned, lately, as well as an average increase in spambot activity and so forth. The amount of tolerance granted for people who are obviously trolling the boards has dropped to zero, however, and such accounts are often banned if the activity doesn't cease within the first several warnings; no apologies will be made for this. In addition, there's been several users who were already banned making more and more accounts - there are three users I'm aware of with more than ten, and one that is on the cusp of twenty.

Actual contributory/participating members are not being banned with any greater frequency; less so, in fact, than when I originally joined a year ago.

Nice to hear.

Anyways, has anyone ever been fascinated by the harvesting of stem cells? You can literally repair systems in your body and cure cancer (to a certain extent). From my understanding, they're just normal cells that haven't really developed into anything yet and they can be implanted into damaged parts of your body to regenerate the cells that were intended to be there. Lets take a common example, bone marrow to cure leukemia. Basically the patient gets chemo to destroy the cancerous blood cells and then a donor gives a bit of their stem cells that get implanted into the marrow. That way, the stem cells will turn into healthy blood cells and the patient is cured.

Obviously, not as simple as I just described it, haha. Just to give a general idea. But its really fascinating imo.
I actually wrote a paper on stem-cells and cloning in my seventh grade. And for a while, it really interested me! During my research, I came across this video, which I've had bookmarked for two years with the intention to go back and eventually finish watching, lol...

I hardly remember what it was all about now, so I'll probably watch the entire thing tomorrow. xD

I can confirm this. Moderation is much less strict nowadays. There hasn't been a single ban lately that hasn't been at the very least deserved, if not overdue. In terms of undue strictness, I've personally witnessed the committee going to lengths to avoid bans on contributory members unless absolutely necessary - something that in their position, I would not have even considered.

Most of those bans have just been alts, as Hazel said.

Anyway, back to random thoughts, I've always wanted to learn to sing, but I'm awfully susceptible to throat infections, it sucks. Have another one right now, and wanted to hibernate it off, but every time I went to sleep, all I dreamt of was being sick. Still, this delicious steak dinner is helping.

@Insomniangryface (seriously change your names back already): Ahaha, I probably have the meaning of life hidden somewhere in my favourites from years ago...

Soon ...

Anyways, I just wanted to talk about digital root today. Its cool, and I think its a very, very easy concept to learn. So basically, instead of getting the sum of all the numbers added. You add them up and then you add the two digits together to get the digital root. Let me exemplify:

Now, you can only use digital root with numbers from 1-9 to have it work. What special number is in this sequence?

9.

9, if you notice. No matter what sequecne of numbers you add it to, the root will not change. This is awesome. Try it yourself.

So yeah, pretty neat concept. Used in one of my favorite games too. Just wanted to alert the world about such a thing existing, lol. But not enough discussion value to warrant its own thread XD

EDIT: slyx, you know this is where its at XD
to add on to insomnigry (my personal rendition of this strange username mix up), 9 performs the exact same role as zero in when calculating a digital root, therefore, numbers such as 18, 198, 1008, 198909, etc (you get the point) all have the same digital root. one can even say that for digital roots, 0 and 9 are synonymous!

to add more content, digital roots can also be used as a quick way to check calculation accuracy in a method known as casting out nines! the specifics are in the link below. i refuse to type it out myself because 1. i'm absolutely pooped from my morning workout, and 2. i'm just lazy in general anyway ^^

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casting_out_nines

enjoy!
I think this is the place to ask this, pretty sure at least. If not, redirect me somewhere else. Anyways, has anyone read the book 'Watership Down'? It seems interesting, does anyone know if its good? I need a new book to read for english class and Watership Down seems pretty good. Keep in mind, I am in 7th grade.
I hate my Latin class. Not quite as much as Advanced Algebra, but I hate it. And Chemistry Class isn't exactly something that makes me jump up and down for joy. Computer Class is pretty much pointless; there's never any actual learning material. I hate all of the classes my dad teaches. English and History Classes FTW!!! XD

Merriam Webster must have been a pessimist. There are more words in Webster's Dictionary relating to negative emotions than there are positive ones.

Obligatory smart reply : That is because pure happiness is hard to describe.

You should never miss an opportunity to twist the reality to a better one, at least in your head ...

I've seen a lot of these weird mutations, haha xD

From Digital root to morphic resonance, I'm jumping from one 999 concept to the other xD
It is awesome, isn't it?

I am on a Mac, but I right click, and click "Inspect Element".

After that, I go to the bottom of the screen and lick "3D Style". And voila.
