Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST

You say "kids" like your Ingulit's age rofl
Its the same arguement which I have with use of expensive watches. What's the use of wearing a watch of $100 if another of $5 shows the exact same time? Guess I'll never understand it :\

BTW, I dont own a laptop either. Just a cellphone. That too my father's old E63(with a cracked screen) and I use it for all possible stuff. E.g. As a watch, calculator, music player, memo, reminder, calendar, message sender, video viewer, internet access, etc. It comes under my category of 'dumb phones'(unlinke the smart ones XD)

Going off topic here:
Since last week, I have become obsessed with 'chess.' Being bad at almost every other sport, chess is the only game I play in the school during free time. I am not too good at it because easily get carried away after making a good start. However, after defeating the best player in my school twice, I was quite obsessed with it for the whole day. Throughout the day, I kept thinking about how the knight can attack the rook with the bishop's support.
So, yeah, if anyone here is good at chess, please let me know, I want to be a good player. I'll look around now, to see of there is a 'chess' thread on WBO. :3
It's funny how people behave pretentiously when they have less than someone else, for whatever reason (though typically this crops up when not having something is one's own conscious "choice"), especially in this day and age "gadgets" and what not are passed off as frivolous toys for "spoiled kids (adults)"
There should be no shame associated with wanting or owning these devices.

Some people enjoy having that stuff; it does not necessarily make them spoiled or any less capable of getting by without it. There's this weird unfortunate attitude that pervades the internet centered around pessimism regarding the human race and our various pitfalls etc. Anyways, I don't really find that attitude to be a particularly reasonable or open-minded one, but it's hip and cool to be a "realist" or whatever, and it's kind of disappointing to watch it spread to people so young. I'm not saying we should all be blind optimists (heck I'm quite the downer in almost every facet of my life - I brood and am caught up in matters of existentialism and other inane, never ending spirals of gloom), but to go around parading this mindset of condescension and pretentiousness ..it becomes tiresome to read/hear/see. I'll concede, I can understand where the attitude comes from though.

Also, I at one point thought of myself as good at chess, but eventually realized I am just horrible at it. I tend to make my moves too quickly and don't really think through the options available.
@Takasu: Thanks man! Smile

Going onto the laptop/phone topic:
I own a small pay-as-you-go cell phone (for emergencies, mostly), which isn't fancy at all. I also don't technically "own" a laptop, but my family has a fairly old Mac PowerBook which I use all the time (More than anyone else in the house, actually. It's a rare occasion someone has to use it, because we have a desktop as well.). It can't use Youtube or play games well because it's old, but it does have newer plugins that makes it usable. I use it 95% of the time for posting on the WBO, actually. Including right now.

I only truly own two "fancy" electronics:
1. An 8GB 2nd Generation iPod Touch, which does some of the things the laptop can't do well (like videos).
2. A silver Nintendo DS. Not a DSi, not a DS Lite, the original DS model. It's kinda bulky compared to a DS Lite.
*3?. A regular Nintendo Wii, which is actually shared by everyone in my family (mainly me and my brother). I suppose this doesn't count because I don't actually own it myself.
Hey try these Tongue_out_wink

Hey, why don't you try it first and get back to us after you've done it?

Please don't suggest somebody try something potentially harmful to themselves or anyone else.
So, I got a new phone today!! Not a Smasung Galaxy S II or an iPhone 4s, but a Samsung Mesmerize!!! It was an early birthday present. I love it!!
Great! Again, happy B Day!

Well, my pin came.
At my grandmas house. Staying for another month.

Does anyone know any good apps for time clasped photo taking, specifically for android? Thanks!

Me and ♥ have the same birthday.
Wow.
In a year, I will be off to college 0_o

Someone save me =(

You know, being serious for a sec, I am going to really miss my family. This year I am going to push all of my procrastination habbits aside so that when I am away next year I may have time to visit the people who are most important to me; My mom and dad, my brother, my best friends, my dog, and any of my other family members Grin

Hmph, since the LAUSD school district has a low budget, supposedly, they're making us go back to school TOMORROW. Also, there have been well over 5 abrupt power outages in my area, in less than 2 days, there was a car crash next to my house, a power line exploding, and to top it all off, excessive HeAT up to 99 degrees! It's crazy!!

It's usually a cost of several hundred dollars.

Yeah but I don't actually know anyone apart from people my parents age who has a plain old utility cellphone.

Hah, that is what I was getting at. IIRC, you can get normal phones (call only) for like 15 bucks and cheaper. I have no idea why kids these days are getting iPhones and all this expensive garble.

Really? You don't? The younger generations always want the newest and the best. What's the point of getting a plain old $30 cellphone when you can get a much better one if you can afford it? Don't know about you but for where I live your opinion is in the minority.

Also in relation to your first comment I wouldn't really consider people people my age with expensive cell phones and laptops spoilt. I mean everyone my age where I live has expensive cell phones. It's kinda wierd if you don't have one but you're at an age that you wouldn't really need one. I only got mine at your age due to my parents giving me one. Also as far as me being spoilt (I know you didn't accuse me of this I just want to say this) I got my laptops for school. First one was due to parents thinking I needed it (I did. It was boarding school btw) and the second one was due to my ADD disability.
I was building my android game with a code provided by a website, but Im not sure how to build it. I'm using Corona SDK. Here is the code(large):
Does anyone know how to build it? I dont know anything about Corona SDK, and only started today.

Please reply ASAP. I have all the picture files, just dont know how to build. Thanks!
First off, the MyCodes are there for a reason. It would have made it much simpler.
Secondly, everything you're calling (physics, movieclip, etc.). Do you have the files/code necessary for them? Like, all these .png files. Do you have those on your computer? Third, and most pressing, you're coding this in Lua? Aren't Android apps Java-based? Do you know the language(s) necessary to make this work?

Hah, mostly same here, largely due to my apparently ADHD-related inability to write legibly. My teachers got tired of attempting to interpret my scrawling and basically said "Alex you seriously need to get a laptop now or we just can't mark your work".

Great... It's that time of year again... I have to go back to school in a week.
Why Cup Noodles? Why do you have no legible expiration date?

As there is pretty much nothing good to eat in my house, I'm resorting to Cup Noodles... bought two years ago. Here's to hoping I don't get sick. Wish me luck, guys.

I wouldn't risk it for a cup of noodles. Eh ...
I'd definitely try that if I were hungry enough. Well...probably the packet ones, not cup ramen. Still... I'd do it. I ate 6-month old beef-flavored ramen, and nothing went bad.
Okay, so I found out they're not two years old, but actually about a year. Well, I ate it. And it was delicious, except for those gross vegetables they put in. But, I'm safe... for now. Hah, we'll see.
Well, I'll be off to college in about two years. I've actually managed to narrow down my choices. I want to leave the country and go to the University of Windsor, since it's not that expensive and my grandfather's from Windsor, but I'd rarely get to see my family. The University of Northern Michigan's closer, but it's more expensive. There are a few colleges out there that I could go to, but I've only seen a few I'm interested in. Windsor's got a bigger English department than NMU, but NMU is smaller. Makes it easier to get around.
Is it just me, or does Ankh from Kamen Rider look like a girl?(I know Kai-V will answer this XD)
Ginga Blader, at one point, I actually though Kai-V's avatar was a girl. xD

After doing research, I figured out it was Ankh.
