I was just thinking and I wanted to know who you guys consider the archenemy/rival of each beyblade protagonist. Keep in mind, you don’t actually have to be a villain to be considered an archenemy/rival (although they are most commonly villains) this is my list:
Tyson: Kai was definitely the archenemy of Tyson overall. He may have not been his most critical or darkest opponent but he was definitely the closest and most consistent of all his rivals and undoubtedly one of, if not his most powerful rival throughout the original trilogy. Their relationship was even passed down to their sons in the manga with them becoming archenemies/friends in the future.
Gingka: I don’t think it’s a mystery who Gingka’s archenemy is. Ryuga is Gingka’s toughest rival and his undoubtable opposite. They have clashed many times and even worked together as well. They also wield two twin beys who, like their owners are polar opposites themselves. They both have different values and beliefs and although both of them are good guys deep down, it doesn’t make their rivalry any less intense.
Gingka (zero-g): I actually believe that Gingka has a different arch nemesis in Zero g, namely Doji. Doji and Gingka have always been serious enemies but in the first three seasons, Doji was more concerned with furthering his plans of world domination and obtaining power rather than concerning himself with Gingka-but after Gingka seemingly foiled all his plans he seems to have retained a grudge towards Gingka in Zero g going as far as to capture and torture him. Gingka’s final battle in the manga happened to be a 1v1 with Doji.
Zyro: Zyro’s archenemy was Kira. Kira and Zyro fought multiple times in a brutal war which ended with Zyro defeating an empowered Kira in a fierce synchrome match. Kira was an antagonist bent on dominating the new generation while Zyro was a protagonist motivated to rise through the new generation. There’s not far too much to say but it’s a classic antagonist/protagonist archenemy gimmick.
Valt: I believe the archenemy of Valt is Lui. A lot of things are opposing about these two, from their beys and personalities all down to their beliefs and motivations. Longinus and Valkyrie and total opposites and I doubt I need to explain that piece. Lui bladed for satisfaction (deep down he did love it but of course he never expressed this far too much) and a feeling of superiority while Valt bladed for fun, Lui believed that winning was more important than having fun while Valt believed the opposite, Lui prefers being alone as opposed to being surrounded by friends like Valt, Valt is generally a nice, extroverted and extremely friendly person whereas Lui is very introverted, somewhat hostile and cold. They had an intense rivalry in s1 and s2 and it was slightly touched upon in s3. Yes, Lui wasn’t the absolute strongest or most villainous of Valt’s enemies but his portrayal and constant clashes with Valt have definitely set this relationship in stone. Shu is an honourable mention but he’s more of a best friend/casual rival than a more tense rival outside of s2.
Aiga: Aiga’s arch-nemesis is definitely Phi, It was short lived but pretty obvious. They surprisingly share many similar perspectives on blading and were both evil at one point before deciding to abandon their dark natured ways. There’s not much to explain here as Aiga didn’t really have many fierce rivalries apart from his rivalry with Phi which was definitely his most intense and motivating dynamic yet. The battles that occurred between Phi and Aiga truly set the standard for the high resonance battles that would unfold in gt and sparking.
Drum: The arch-nemesis of Drum is Arthur. He wasn’t really the toughest blader of the season but he was definitely the true mastermind behind all the evil occurrences. Drum went as far as to rebel against Arthur’s hostile takeover and transition of the wbba into “hell” (something that is even mentioned in sparking mind you) and even had his bey destroyed at the hands of Arthur only to come back ready to stop him. Drum continuously thwarted Arthur’s plans and is undoubtedly his archenemy. Gwynn was more of a final boss.
Asahi bros: Their arch-nemesis is Lane. Like them, Lane is part of the new generation of extremely powerful new bladers who seek to topple the legends. They all posses the power to utilize and control flare and even posses sun god beys. Unlike the benevolent brothers, Lane is an aggressive and power hungry individual who even went as far as to destroy their beys. Despite this Hyperion and Helios have come back more powerful than ever, and as they have, so will Lucifer. I think the whole archenemy relationship kind of shifts more towards Hyuga and Lane as opposed to Hikaru and Lane (because the anime has more focus on Hyuga as the more important of the two protagonists) but ultimately I do think it applies to them both.
Well that’s all for my list, who do you guys think are the arch enemies of the various protagonists?
Not bad eh?
