Format Information
Brand Restrictions: None (Hasbro and TAKARA TOMY Beyblade X Products are legal)
Stadium: TAKARA TOMY X-Treme Stadium
Restricted Parts: Metal Needle (MN) is banned.
The tournament is divided into two stages: Group Stage will use the 3on3 format, and Finals Stage will battle it out for victory using the deck format! The type of tournament bracket used (Group Round Robin or Swiss) will be determined by the final number of participants.
For more detailed information about the match types or rules in general, please see the WBO official rulebooks (which we can guide you towards, just ask!). Here is a brief summary of the match types we'll be using:
Group Stage: 3on3 (First to 7 Points)
Build up to 3 Beyblades with no repeating parts to be your deck! At the start of the match, present your deck to the Judge and select your initial order of all 3 Beyblades in secret, keeping them concealed from your opponent.
Bladers will battle with the corresponding Beys in the order set to score points, and re-shuffle their deck if all 3 battles are completed before the match has completed.
The first to score 7 points is the winner of the match!
Finals Stage: Deck (First to 7 Points per match, Best of 3 matches)
Build up to 3 Beyblades with no repeating parts to make up your deck! At the start of the match, present your deck to the judge and your opponent, and then choose your first Beyblade in secret.
After each battle, the player who lost the previous battle will be offered the choice to either:
Replay: This means that both players use the same Beyblades again (no switching modes/sides).
OR
Switch: The player who lost the previous battle may choose whether to switch Stadium sides. Then, the previous winner selects their Beyblade and reveals it (they can choose to switch out their Beyblade or stay with their previous choice). Lastly, the loser chooses their Beyblade and reveals it (you can swap modes at this point).
The first to score 7 points will win the set, and victory in the best of 3 sets will win you the match!

What if there is less than 10 people? The minimum is 10

In the case that there are 8-9 bladers on the day of the event, it would remain Ranked but the Prize Pool would likely be subject to change to accommodate (subject to the venue’s discretion, I can figure out more on that if needed). Less than 8 would lead to an Unranked Club Event if the blader count results between 4-7, per the Rules & Resources documents.
However, I wouldn’t worry about less than 10 on the day of the event as our last one capped at 24 a bit closer to the date of the event and had a waitlist, so closer to time we should see it easily reach the 10 (if not max capacity)! 😄
Thank you all for a great turnout! We had 20 players at the event, and you all brought some serious competition. Well done everyone!
