[Plastics] :: Q&A Thread

Eh, it depends.

Full Auto Clutch shaft is very fast, and is one of the fastest bases in its stock setup.

SG Metal Flat Base is more of a Semi Flat from what I hear.

SG Metal Flat Base(Gaia Dragoon V Ver.) is fairly quick, but slower than most of the rubber attack bases.
I was wondering if anyone had an extra bottom for a Wolborg 4. I just snagged one off eBay and got 2 of the inner Blade Base. I need the outer one that the inner one snaps into.
I think you should put a Buying Thread up for that... or buy another Wolborg 4.
How well does Trygle fly? Can it hover high above the stadium or just barely off the ground?
Well, 1st off, you need a Takara Trypio. 2nd, it's illegal for tournaments to fly, and 3rd, it does fly extremely high for beyblades with the right parts.
Nupmuk, not to be rude but I've posted about most of this stuff you're asking before in various threads and I suggest you search harder if you're searching at all.

Shining God MS, again, please leave the answering to others.

SG Metal Flat Base (Driger V) is a sharp with slightly more of the tip cut off, a different kind of/more sharp-like semi-flat I guess, nice passive movement pattern though. I've posted about the reason behind the name before in my spin up guide book posts.

Heavy Attack is viable for weight based defense as long as the setup keeps it out of the way. No reason to use it over Ten Heavy but it's good enough to be competitive, hence being on the list.

And I've posted a lot about the base and SG before soooooooooo.

Oh and Dranzer/Driger/Draciel

Dranzer S: SCB is ridic - zombies without wide defense/wide survivor, AR is decent, SG Casings are great. Dranzer V2 has an SP that has uses, but defense ring is more versatile, an AR that's kinda "meh" at everything and a blade base that just isn't that great because the gimmick just doesn't work out well. Uncustomized though, Dranzers are usually a crapshoot so yeah, V2 is probably the least messy of the lot.

Driger V2 just because it's the only beyblade that is actually really competitive (and actually on the CC list) out of the box and has good coverage against a lot of competitive combos if you add the remaining bells and whistles (HMC and Wide Defense). Driger S is great and Tiger Defenser is a ridiculously versatile part, though, so it's a very close run thing.

Draciel MBD because Metal Ball Base is great for trying out things against and a competitive part that is worth using over its competitors (S was okay but tbh SG Metal Ball Base isn't worth using over Customize Metal Change Base + Defense Ring unless you're playing an abnormally aggressive Weight Defender (and even then it's questionable) which is unusual - main aggression with them is in ko launches). None of the main-series draciels are anything but laughable uncustomized, MBD's AR is really recoily so I don't think it'd do well either.

It doesn't work that well as a balance tip because of bearings, which also result in less consistent aggression. The inability to use it with an HMC, traditionally required for the type of combinations Change tips benefit, is also an issue. I've tried to make more balance-typed setups with it but it just isn't consistent or aggressive enough, if you want that bearing-supported-attacking kinda thing then setups using Driger F's shaft are the only option.

The existing Metal Change tips are already very good at what they do, though, so I'm not sure why you would want ever so slightly more grip - the difference between metal and plastic isn't worth the tradeoff.

the question was about the parts I listed, because I noticed that it sometimes acts offensively and sometimes not with wolborg 2's base, but because of the rubber it should be more offensive than a metal tip and have more survival when it stays calm because it's a bearing based SG

Also: how do you know your Metal Change Base is worn?

I do not have much info on the original Gaia Dragoon, but I had never heard anything positive about it, other than it being a fairly unique and cool looking design, as well as having some unique parts.

As for Gaia/Strata Dragoon V and G they both contain useful, competitive parts:

Gaia Dragoon V: Dragon Breaker, SG Metal Flat Base
Gaia Dragoon G: Dragon Saucer

Th!nk posted that Gaia Dragoon's AR (Great Dragon) can be used for attack, but has to be used with Zeus Sub AR

Gaia Dragoon V is the more useful without discussion, because with a Neo Left SG, Galzzly Sub-AR and Wide Defenseit can be a really good attack beyblade (if I remember right), yes you will have to buy many parts, but if you search can be a good price to! (in Oki's page it costs 2900 yens + shipping)
Metal Change Base doesn't wear fast at all if you only use it in stadiums. If it doesn't settle down for ages compared to a mint one then it's worn, hard to say without comparison.

None of the bearing equipped tips that aren't Driger F's can be made aggressive enough to be worthwhile (or their aggression can't be controlled to do anything more than hit two walls and then calm down, and that's usually wolborg 2's shaft catching in the base). So no it doesn't really pan out at all well. Tip Shape is more important to aggression than material by many leagues (see: Seaborg's standard configuration, MFB's RSF).
Okay, thanks th!nk!

I will see if a friend can lend me his metal change base so I can compare!

When Bearing Version 2 is worn, it will start to develop more aggressive movement patterns. This has happened to mine so I now it is more attack based than defense, but still maintains it's defensive capabilities as well as having better Stamina than that of the other rubber tipped Blade Base's. The survival is not fantastic by any means, even for a mint Bearing Version 2.

I have an old Metal Change Base that I used way too much and over time the slightly sharp metal point in the tip became flat and now, could probably be mistaken for a SG Metal Flat Base(Gaia Dragoon Version) due to how fast it moves.

Is it faster or slower than A MFB Metal Flat?

Sorry for all the questions but which of these is the best to get as my first plastic because I found a listing but it is a variation and in my price range. The beys are: Driger G, Wolborg 4, Dracie G, Gaia Dragoon G, Strata Dragoon.
I think it is faster, may just be me though.

Wolborgs base is great, and drigers AR is as well. I'd get one of those. By Strata Dragoon, is it the original one, or V?
I think it is just Strata Dragoon G but... best bet would be Wolborg4 and if you can get 1 in the future, get a Driger S so you can make a really good combo with Wolborgs EG and BB

It depends what you would like to be able to make first.

Driger G is, in my opinion, the best EG Beyblade out of the box. The AR is one of the best for Smash Attack hands down.

Wolborg 4 has one of the most useful EG/BB/CEW combinations as it can be used in multiple top tier defense customs.

As for Draciel G, it is nearly useless.

Gaia Dragoon G has a useful AR and SR, but is probably not a great starter purchase.

As for the Strata Dragoon, if it is Strata Dragoon V, then it contains a useful AR and BB, and is not too bad uncustomized.

This pretty much narrows it down to Driger G, Wolborg 4, or Strata Dragoon V.

If you are wanting to go for Attack, Driger G or Strata Dragoon V would be your best bet.
If you are wanting to go for Defense/Stamina, Wolborg 4 would be best.

If it were me, I would probably choose the Driger G, but I am a huge fan of Triple Tiger.
I ended up getting Driger V instead of Driger G because Driger G did not com with a launcher. How good is Driger V?
Not that good from what I hear, unfortunately. It's base is OK, but yeah.
Sonic Tiger is too recoil prone in either spin direction.
As for SG Metal Flat Base, as long as you did not end up with one of Hasbro's with the sharp tips, it should perform decently.
What is the best way to launch Torch/Flame/Thunder pegasis ? Is there a video of it?
I recently bought RB6 from eBay and got a Tiger Defenser AR, Heavy Attack WD, and a SG Sharp BB. What should I get next? I was thinking Wolborg 4 to use it's base with Tiger Defenser. What do you guys think?
Wolborg 4 would be a great choice.
Has any one ever tried the following cmbo out? I was just looking around to see if I could buy some plastics, then the idea came to me :

AR: Gross Griffon
WD: Wide Defense
SG: Neo Right Spin Gear (Double Bearing Version)
BB: SG Metal Flat Base (Gaia Dragoon V Version)

From what Beywiki says about the above combo but with an SG Magnecore this would seem quite deadly in tournaments.

EDIT: I just realized how stupid this sounded, I forgot the SG already had the Bottom, if you will, in it.

EDIT 2: After some quick research, what if Right SG (Free Shaft Version) with a Metal Flat from Driger F was used?
You'd have to use a different base, of course, and free spinning parts are bad for smash attack. There are ways to fix driger f's shaft in place without making a combo awkwardly tall but they're kinda janky (it involves sonokong Dranzer s casings and bearings thick enough to create significant friction), but even then the shaft isn't really worth using, too uncontrollable workout bearings - kinda like xf in mfb. It's passable I guess but yeah.

In general, a good rubber tipped attacker can ko most of the things a metal tipped one OS's and a few more. As much as Gaia Dragoon V's base is definitely good enough to be competitive, I'd definitely consider it one of the weaker bases on the list - Seaborg with an overhanging AR is generally the way to go tbh.
OK, thank you!
Why is it that the hidden spirit blade bases aren't legal?
Aside from Hayate and its various clones, of which the Attack Ring was the only legal part under Takara's rules, there isn't a good reason aside from them sucking too hard for anyone to care enough to argue about it yet. I think it was a misunderstanding, though I vaguely recall hasbro saying they weren't legal tops which could be the basis for it (we tend to disregard hasbro's rulings in general, so it's not an adequate defense of the current ruling, just a possible reason for it). Originally, the attack rings were illegal under our rules as well, because "hey they suck who cares" but then a few of us got together and pointed out that Cross Griffon rocked and after a while managed to get it changed.

I was going to bring it up with the committee relatively soon, actually. Hasbro's salamalyon base should at least be 'usable', and Zeo/Aveiron's base isn't completely useless either despite the weird shape.
