UPDATES
Newest are at the top
JUNE 2: Added a request for support
JUNE 1: Removed Wolfmonkey as a volunteer.
MAY 21: Volunteer signups reopen. Looking for an unspecified number of volunteers.
MAY 1: MFB tournament is confirmed! Prize list TBA. Will be using Draft format for those who don't have an MFB.

Planned events:
1.Demos
2. Q and A session
3. Panel Discussion (only I will be participating as far as I know)
4. Giveaways for new players
5. TOURNAMENT

VOLUNTEER SIGNUPS IS OPEN AGAIN!
Volunteers do not need to pay to get into the con. I am also in the process of finding housing for volunteers. I will make this as cheap as possible for you.

Even if you can't make it, there are other things you can do to help, such as ads on your websites, social networking, blogging, and just spreading the word!

If you plan on attending this event (its fine if you change your mind later) post here. I would like a rough sketch of how many WBOers are coming.

So everybody knows, the best rates for staying in Wichita for the event would be calling the hotel it's at, and asking for the "Anime Block". You will get a discount for being in the Anime Festival! By the way, you will need to buy tickets to the fest, but that's not my thing, I can't help you there. Tickets are also available on the event's website!

CURRENT VOLUNTEERS:
Fragbait (event organizer)
Deikailo (Tentative, Plastics supplier and resident expert)
G (Tournament, MFB)

Thank you for your time, and please try to make it out!

P.S.
Unfortunatly, at the moment, funding is low. I am trying to secure funding through a couple sources, but for right now, all costs are coming out of my own pocket. Which is currently empty.
I am looking for some donations of either funding or supplies (unopened MFB boosters, stadiums you can lend, etc) to offset costs.
I know I'm not Brad and that most of you don't know me. However, if you could help out just a little to make sure that the biggest Beyblade event in the Midwest, EVER, goes smoothly, I would be forever thankful.
Please, if you have any questions, PM ME.
DO NOT POST HERE. PM ME.I don't need people thinking you will donate to just any tourney, and I will keep all donations confidential unless you ask me to publicize it.
Thank you very much for your consideration.

You should come, Pichu. By then I'll have some MFB. I'd love to Beybattle you.

Yeah, that's right. An EO doesn't own a single MFB. Anyone selling?

UPDATING OP.
I wish, it's 12 hours away. I can't make it to BWR, which is only 6 hours. Hell, IDK if I can even go to Chicago which is only like 3 hours away. My parents won't travel. My dad drives as his job, so he stays home all weekend and my mom is scared of traveling (ugh, don't ask).
Awww....now I gotta!
I won't....*resisting...*
Update:
I am reopening the volunteer sign ups. Volunteering will get you into the con free and most likely a MFB item (What is undetermined).
I will also be PMing the people who previously said they would volunteer.

Sorry for the double post Admins...needed this bumped.
Since I'm seriously getting addicted to beyblade (again), the 12 hour trip is so tempting. Maybe I can convince a friend or two from Fort Wayne to make a road trip. Doubtful, but tempting.
Pepe, if it's an issue about a place to stay, I might be able to hook you up, if you are willing to work the area for a few hours. Hit me with a PM and we'll talk about it.
What day is the actual event..?

Everything about this seems so very vague.

The actual event lasts for all 3 days. The tournament will be afternoon saturday, only because I was asked to work around a SSBB tournament.
So what will be going on the other two days then?
All three days? Speechless

When the tourney isn't happening we will have free battles and some presentations over MFB.
I'm structuring the event to be alot like BWR.
Brad, I'll discuss this with you in the coming weeks.
BWR only lasted one day, for about six hours ...

I know. However, also consider that this event, while I would LOVE having WBO members come (hint hint) is built to attract new bladers. The tournament even more so.
I still think three days is too long. You're probably going to be in an empty room a lot of the time. But whatever, it's your event.

What do you suggest?
Plus, I really don't consider this MY event, more like it's the WBO's and I'm just running it.
Well, what are your timeslots for each day?
(Jun. 11, 2009  7:14 PM)Bey Brad Wrote: Well, what are your timeslots for each day?

All day. I plan on having the area ready by early afternoon Friday, and we stay open. The only request for a time change we had was from the gaming director and he asked that I don't run the tournament in the same timeslot as the Brawl tourney.
Which makes thing easier on me.
After video games, we seem to have highest priority.
Well, I mean, you're going to want to take time off to eat and stuff. I think your time would be better spent on Friday getting out there and actively promoting it. What we did on Friday was play Beyblade around the convention and hand out fliers to people who were interested.

Excelent idea. I'll add that to my plan, which was only to open signups for tournaments and begin distributing the boosters.
Which reminds me....
I agree with Friday. We need to draw some attention that will get people asking "What is that?!?!"
I don't want to have to sit in a room with like one or two random congoers that pass by asking what it is.

We'll spend Friday, and the begining of the day Saturday handing out stuff. I have some local boys I'll put on duty to hand them out after a bit, after which, we can do demoes and start with the tourney.
I think we need to do what Brad did and just actually play around the convention. Is there enough help for this even?

If we can't get enough WBO support, I can get people from the con's volunteer pool. I figure with me, you, and one or two people who I blade with, we will have enough to demo, and run tourneys. I'm having my 2 people from in town study the rulebook right now, and we are practicing daily.
I'll ask my grandparents if they'll take me.
