Midfake Beyblade Discussion and Information

I’ve been doing some research on these “midfake” Beyblades, and these are my findings. Please do not hesitate to correct any incorrect information or provide additional info.

First off it seems that these midfakes are only present during the metal era of beys.

These Beyblades come in boxes and sometimes even launchers and tools marked with the Takara Tomy logo, but are not legit. I have no clue how they get away with this.

The midfake boxes are generally slightly faded compared to authentic ones. You can tell if a bey is a midfake by looking at the bottom of the box. If it says A0813 as shown in the provided photo, it is almost certainly a midfake.

Beyond the box, midfakes are generally of lower quality and have jagged edges on parts such as the fusion wheel, as shown in the picture below.

I’ve also noticed that every legit Beyblade I have looked at has either BB and a number for metal fusion/masters and A and a number for 4D on the inside of the prongs the clear wheel goes on and the face bolt goes through. The midfake beys (at least the one I have) has something either the same or different on it on the bottom of the fusion wheel not on the prongs. See pictures below.

I don’t know who makes these or if they contain toxins such as lead, someone else hopefully can answer that for me.

I apologized if this isn’t meant to be under general, please let me know if it should go somewhere else.

Just to note, A0813 isn't the only code for mid fakes.

Though I'm curious if the K1910 New Boy beyblades are legit or not because 10 in the code probably stood for 2010 which fits with the timeline. Especially since there are normal TT mid fakes of Metal Fusion beyblades.

That's interesting. I look forward to more information on the subject.
Just found out that my brother’s basalt horogium is a midfake Uncertain not to mention the Lightning l-drago and storm Pegasus I got recently... This is incredibly frustrating.
Honestly I wouldn't bet putting my money on any of these beys. I know I get sick and tired of hasbro but I trust more hasbro then these companies. Heck Im not even sure what site to trust anymore seeing all these fakes

I agree
Hello guys, maybe i missed something but what do you mean with "midfake"? I knew that some companies manufactured fake metal fight beys using TT molds they got from i don't even know where (?). If it's the same thing i was aware of then it's all TT fault. Why did they abandon legit molds (or maybe sold)? This is unprofessional in first place, TT could have easily predicted that new semi-fakes would be invading the official market boxed in those deceiving packagings, right?

I put most of my money on TT beys.....they're amazing
problem with buying fakes is the lead. There are certain levels of lead that may be safe, but even then they recommend staying mostly away from it in general.

I’ve actually found a fake that 1. Looks just like Hasbro 2. Doesn’t have lead 3. Performs like Hasbro 4. Makes clinks.

Yeah, some fakes don't have lead but they're usually very rare to find.

We use the term 'midfake' to refer to fakes in TT packaging. There are a few differences, but the main one is midfakes don't have toxic amounts of lead in the wheel.

ANY amount of lead can be toxic dude.

Yes but that's if it builds up enough or a few other reasons I'm not going to list. As long as you don't get the lead in your body (Like if you did something stupid like suck on the metal wheel or try to eat it) then you should be fine.

Lead builds up quickly, and you can easily just inhale lead through your knows. Its really not safe to have any fakes with any amount of lead.

My lead test detected lead in me real authentic TT beys, so idk what to tell you.

The fake amount of lead just even on a normal basis is vastly different than just a bit of lead on metal.
Note: not all fake beyblades have lead. I myself have seen fakes without lead that wouldn’t be noticed by anyone except the buyer. Do I support fakes sort of, but do I condone fakes no. To avoid these mid fakes on Amazon simply look at the 1 star reviews and the title (usually anything with the words “great gift” is fake). Fakes certainly exsist and lots of people buy them myself included due to insanely high prices for TT so I’m here to tell you how to safely buy fake beys. You want to see how the metal looks, if it’s a grayish color that isn’t extremely shiny then it’s probably safe. Step 2, check for a clink sound (fakes that use lead such as Rapidity don’t make this cling sound when they fall on the ground). If you are still unsure then lead test it.
For anyone who is only interested in collecting authentic beys it would be extremely helpful if everyone took pictures of the codes on their TT boxes and posted them here. We could use that information as reference since A0813 isn’t or at least may not be the only midfake code. I’ll take pictures of mine when I get time.

I know these mid fakes are mostly for MFB, and Burst as far as what was talked about for the past few months doesn't have any. But that is a bit questionable now given that...my new long left string launcher from the Long Beylauncher set L broke within a day, which is a bit weird given that only the LR string launcher and sparking launchers have breakage problems iirc. What's even more weird is that I noticed an enraved print like you usually see under MFB starters and boosters behind the box which I usually don't see for any of my burst beys besides Bloody Longinus. I don't remember the exact code(and I can't show it right now either because I'm not home), but it ends with the number 20. Now, from what I've gathered codes like these refer to a specific date, namely that the two numbers at the end refers to the year that particular product was made(i.e 11 means it was made in 2011, 18 means it was made in 2018, just like my Bloody Longinus).

Basically the thing is...doesn't this mean my Long Beylauncher set L was made in 2020?But how is that possible when Cho-Z already ended in late 2019?so at most it could have a 19, but not 20 in production code. Essentially, this and the fact that my launcher broke so fast is making me think that Burst might be getting mid fakes too because these are usually the signs for such.

What is probably a good idea for the community is a list of when products are end dated if this can be found from the manufacturer, the same as the Wiki pages have when a product was released. Or contacting the manufacturer with the date code on the product and asking them if it was theirs or not as they will have a record of it.

The 2013 date code seems fishy to me if there are a large number of products with the same code as it would be unlikely that quantity of parts could be made or packed and labelled in such short time, also if you wanted to imitate another product potentially a fee years after it was discontinued you'd look into things like date codes of the original products and copy them. I have seen grey imports (I think that's the term used) in other products where often the boxes then get a security seal of some type to say the contents inside are genuine, or a distributor sticker to show it originated from a particular distributor that knows the product came from the correct supplier.
