Let’s Talk About School

However, I have a math final in 2-3 weeks and I’m quite nervous. I feel confident about my mathematic capabilities but passing this is important. In February, I took a test to determine how ready I am for a level of math that requires me to skip a grade in math. I aced that. But the final part of skipping a grade in math is passing advanced on this final exam. Welp wish me luck

Also taking all honors classes so that’s fun

Good Luck! funny enough i have exams next week too, but im exempt from them if my grades are good enough

For anyone who doesn't know, on the last day, they give out awards, and I won one for a paper I wrote! I didn't really expect to win anything so I am still freaking out.

Good job! You mustve wrote something really good ^^
Hi guys! Updated this thread’s rules to make them more digestible and easy to read. The rules are mostly the same as last time, so feel free to not look at them again!

Mine is June 4th, and then I get 1 week of just fun. I just finished my health final, so I now only have 10 finals, at random dates to worry about. Heck since they’re random, every single one of them could be tomorrow. But I’ve got it covered. Hopefully...🙁
So I kinda won this History Bee thingy, so I'm in State Level right now.
History Bee sounds fun! I wish I had it in my area. Liking history is kinda my secret since everyone Ik thinks its so boring and something only nerds enjoy. Good job on winning!

May 27th or 28th

My parents said that when School ends, I won't be able to post on WBO or be on computer

(but I got my own computer, but WBO doesn't work on there)

History Bee is actually very fun, I love learning about history. I don't really care if people object it. Me and my team (4 other people) will have a tournament next week. Do you have Spelling bee or Geography Bee?
I can't say how much I hate maths GCSE!

Stupid question but, how does the Bee thing work again? We don't have anything similar where I live, so I'm curious about it.

So basically in every class, the teacher asks all the students whether or not if they want to enter the bee. For all the people who say "yes", they are quizzed on the bee's topic, so if it's history, they're quizzed on history. The teacher has this answer and question paper thing, so she can read off questions and answers. You get 25-35 questions, Five people who get the most question right move onto the second in class round. In Second round, the teacher asks questions off the paper instead of test, and she asks in order. When you get 3 questions wrong, you get eliminated. Then, slowly and slowly, there is only one person standing in the class who won. Then all class winners compete in school via principal and judges.

After class-level, there is school-level, after school level there is state-level, after state level there is national-level.

Do you get the idea? If you have any questions or misunderstanding, you can ask me.

Good Luck! I kinda wanna skip a grade too, but not sure if I can, Virtual school kinda sucks. If I have time over summer I might try and learn all my the stuff for my next math class for and take an AP test early next school year.

Nobody does. Even I, a 100% certified nerd doesn’t like school. We only can hope to survive.
I don’t know if this is just my school, or not, but there seems to be a problem with teachers telling students they can’t succeed in life if they do one thing wrong.

I’m in middle school, and apparently rushing on an art project means I’m going to do terrible when I grow up.

Last year, too, a teacher said that I wasn’t getting into college with the grade I got it on a test. I got a B or something.

I attend public school, and even preparatory school wasn’t this harsh. (It was harder academically, if I recall)

Is anyone else’s school like this?

Yikes, this is the complete opposite of my school :c

At my school, if you freak out about becoming homeless in the future (due to a bad grade), they will threaten to get you a therapist and into a mental health program. It happened to me before when I was having a crisis (/lh) over my C in math LOL

Ah, mine isnt as good as it looks, either :p My school tends to look at the wrong thing instead of the right thing; but hey, I guess theyre going in the right direction

For example, at least theyre catching up to what modern-day bullying is (social media trashtalk, exclusion, etc.). Im sure a lot of schools out there are so behind, they think bullying is 1) giving a kid a wedgie, 2) shoving someone into a locker, 3) public, really loud taunting, etc. I mean, the aforementioned tactics are still done but not as much since people moved onto the sneakier ones. I dont know if anyone else understands, but theres that feeling where you think your school isnt aware of what ACTUAL bullying is nowadays

Despite being told several times, my principal ignores what goes on at her school.

But, my dads gonna meet with the school’s CEO about the bullying issues.
Finally next week is my last week of high school and then 3 months of nothing. Looking forward to prom as well.
