First Stage - Pick 3, Choose 1 Rules

1. When a match between two players is announced, each player assembles three combos with no repeating parts in secret.

2. After both players have their Beyblades ready, they turn around and present their combinations to their opponent.  At this point spin directions or modes on parts which require disassembly can no longer be changed.

3. Each player is given 30 seconds to identify the Beyblades presented.

4. Then, each player turns around and makes their final selection of which Beyblade they will use from the three combos they presented to their opponent in secret. They also choose their launcher.

5. The match then continues as a normal match between the two selected Beyblades.

Note: All other existing WBO Burst Limited Format rules unrelated to the match ruleset outlined above will apply for this event. Finals will be played usimng the regular WBO Deck Format.

Hey everyone! My tournament report for this event is now published on BeyBase:

Results Spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1...sp=sharing

A few notes for the WBO Staff Organized Play team regarding additional rule changes that we played with during this event:

  • We had seven players (which means Club Format), but played using the regular round robin format permitted by 8+ player events since the purpose of the event was to test Pick 3, Choose 1. Normally in Club Format by the existing letter of the law in the Organizer's Guide, you have a choice between Deck Format Round Robin or the Winning Streak Format. Given that this was unranked and all players agreed to it, we decided to play P3C1 and take the top four into the finals as we would have if there was 8+ players. I still believe the Club Champion Bit should be awarded.
  • We also had nine players confirmed, but two did not show up with no prior warning. We had hoped they would show up to make the above not notable, but that wasn't the case. The users who didn't show up are noted in the spreadsheet.
  • In the finals, a mistake was made and we played using 1pt Burst Finishes. All players played under this rule though, so the competition was fair.

For further detail on these issues and more, check out my report above.
