Yes, you read that right, Spinoff is back on!

After a little negotiation the guys at the MCM Expo have agreed to give us some space for the tourney. Awesome, right? Now here's the hard part: forget everything you have previously heard about Spinoff. Seriously, it'll just confuse the hell out of you. Let's start a fresh, okay?

Okay. Spinoff is now a two day event. It'd be great if you could make both days but if you can only make one then that is fine too. We will have the main tourney on Saturday 23rd. It is scheduled to start at 12:00. This may be pushed back till like 12:30 if people are stuck in queues, etc, but no later than this. If you want to take part you must have registered before then. We will have free battles and demos to the other Expo attendees on both the Saturday (when we're not doing the tourney) and the following Sunday. We may have a mini tourney on the Sunday, depending on the number of people.

The actual tourney will start at roughly midday on the Saturday. If you've put down that you're coming and I can see you're not there then I can wait a bit but I'd like to get it started around that time. I'll post a picture or something later but for now, my number is *number deleted because you don't need it anymore*. Use as appropriate (running late, can't find us, etc.)

As Spinoff is now being hosted inside the Expo, you must buy a ticket. You can either buy a Fast Track Ticket that will allow you early and relatively queue free access to the event, or you can turn up on the day and buy a ticket when you get there. However, if you do this then you may have to wait in some pretty long queues. For that reason, it is advised that you order tickets in advance. For more inormation, please look here: http://www.londonexpo.com/show_information/tickets.html

Transport to the Excel Center is easy as it has very close train and DLR links. Just start at the Excel Center and work backwords to your house! If you have any queries on how to get there then please PM me so I can help you out. Alternatively, this may be of help: http://www.excel-london.co.uk/visitors/travel

It would be nice if you could PM me or post to say you're definitely coming but if not then don't worry. In any case, spread the word and bring along as many friends as you can!

If you have any other questions or queries please ask here or PM me. I'll be sure to answer quickly. If it is a smaller question I would appreciate it if you PMed me rather than spamming up the thread. Thanks a lot in advance. Wink

Obviously the most important part is that we all get to meet and battle each other, but, as an added bonus, we have some prizes. Wink

~Saturday~
1st Prize: 4x RBV2
2nd Prize: 3x RBV2
3rd Prize: 2x RBV2

~Sunday~
1st Prize: 1x RBV2
2nd Prize: 1x RBV2
3rd Prize: 1x RBV2

For those of you who are curious, RBV2 is a pretty awesome RB. Most of the blades in it have good parts, and there's the chance of getting a Libra which is obviously a staple part. Here's what you could win:

Aquario 105B
Aquario DF145SF
Bull DF145HF
Libra 100F
Libra D125HF
Pisces D125BS
Virgo 100B
Virgo 125BS

It seems an attendance list is necessary so.....here we go. Joyful_3 It'd be great if anyone who is 'unconfirmed' could confirm whatever their answer may be as soon as possible. I do apologise if there are any mistakes, I'm sure you can understand that with all the 'it's on', 'no it's off', 'no it's on', 'no it's off' stuff, it is a little confusing. ^^;

I am hesitant to put any more than that. I don't want people to be put down for something they had no intension of going to and then people getting annoyed at them for it. ^^; Who knows, I may have already put too much. :X

As you can see on page 12, Espio is working on another list but let's wait a little till that's updated here. :3

(May. 18, 2009  10:13 PM)Rocky Wrote: I'm not gonna create an Excel table. We'll have a grid with all the names on each side so that we can see who needs to battle who for the actual tourney. We'll have a separate sheet that just has a list of battles (both tourney and freebattles), in order, and who won against who. This is what I had already thought in any case. Obviously we would have more than one sheet. This is okay, yes? :\

EDIT: Espio, while there are certainly many things to worry about, I'm not sure this is one of them. And I don't see how you can possibly get simpler than the WBO Tournament Record Sheets. :X

I would have thought that it would already be done like that anyway, since it is a lot easier and quicker to do.

I can't wait now, I don't know what has got into me but I really want to kick butt and can't wait to go. Smile
i cannt come so take me off the list (sobbs)
Oh yea, I forgot to mention my friend (Stefan) will be coming to the tournament and he will be buying his beyblade there.

Yay another kid!

EDIT: Wwwwwwait! No one is selling beyblades inside the Excel...unless it has changed. :\
We can't sell blades there. This has been the issue all along. If somebody will be selling then it will be outside the expo hall.
There might be legal problems with people selling things as well, since it might come under the act of street trading.
To sell most items or services on the street, or run a market stall, you will need to get a license from the Council, and it's against the law to do so without one.
Could get by on a technicality though, I think if anybody wanted to sell them in the center, just outside the main hall, you could get away with it.
I think if you want to sell in the Expo, you have to contact them. But I don't think they will reply soon enough.

So no-one has got their e-mail yet? I hope we get a place before the tournament day. Unhappy
You can always say that you already bought them for the person. Your just giving them what they ordered and your receiving payment.

That's a mega bummer but I might still be able to get my L-Drago, I hope so. With it I could beat everyone with ease. Cute

Think this is what Blitz has agreed to do for a few people.

... No you couldn't.
A few people here have both metal faces, and rubber flat based combos, and without a metal face, L-Drago really isn't that great...

To me, L-Drago is carp.

Can we please get back on topic. This shouldn't have been posted here =D.
Actually we are allowed to sell stuff.....I'll elaborate when I get home. Tongue_out
Are you gonna sell any stuff while your there Rocky.
Oh and btw (sorry if this is off topic) does anyone that's going to the tournament want me to bring snacks like cookies for me to sell or should i not?
PM me if you want me to.
Basically I told the MCM guys about the kind of thing Brad's gonna be doing at BWR and they said if we wanted to sell some beyblades for people to use then that was okay but if we wanted a full on sales area then we would have to pay for it which is fair enough. I do not expect anyone to make any revenue from this so it's okay to sell some blades. However, at this point I believe most of the beyblades that would have been sold there are going to be lent out so as many people as possible can have a go. If people still want to purchase beyblades then this may have to happen at the end of the Sunday, after they've been used. That is, assuming that this is okay with the sellers. Also, there are not that many available for borrowing/sale anyways so try not to get your hopes up regarding buying a beyblade. If you still wish to buy a beyblade then I suggesting contacting the members who are attending and asking them.

And Sam, I would rather you didn't try to sell of snacks there. I mean, at the end of the day it's your choice but I sincerely doubt the Expo people would be happy. There are numerous cafés and such and you would effectively be taking their customers which is probably illegal in some way or other.

That said, the food there is a little on the pricey side so if you're short on cash I'd advise bring a packed lunch or buying food on the way there or such. Though I can probably give a little food to anyone who's really hungry (is bringing crisps because I intend to eat lunch this year and they're carp cheap). XD
What are the beyblades that are being lent out, and who's lending them? Might be helpful to know this, so we know what we can buy if that's a possibility. I know blitz is selling a few, but other than that.
Are the random boosters that are being by people during the day up for grabs as well at the end of the Sunday, since only a few are being used for prizes?
That's cool, this means there shouldn't be any problem with other people selling them in the hall as well. They are kind once you get to know them. Smile

Also, as for the cookie thing, I think you would seriously get in trouble for that for all the reasons Rocky has pointed out and I have been told plenty of times that they are not cheap for their food.

Question, Should I make a thread for questions, info and just talking for the expo it'self to stop the spamming?
Why would you sell food, there as plenty of places to buy stuff from. I wont be selling. Im afraid, i could have sold intoy stock but because i called in the leaflet favour, it would be rude to ask again. It is also short notice to sort anything out. Carl is currently away so sorting this out would be a hassle on both sides.
We really don't need another thread. Expo questions are fine here, just don't get too off-topic. Thread should be closed in a few days anyways. ^^;
When will pictures be uploaded?
(May. 19, 2009  9:59 PM)Driger Wrote: When will pictures be uploaded?

When they are taken, of course and that is what the other thread could also hold but I am not going to bug about it so never mind.

Are all the supplies ready for this yet?
On the monday or tuesday i would imagine. I will be able upload on monday night most probably coz i have work during the day.
Wait....are we talking about pictures from the Expo? We haven't even taken any yet. Chocked I can try to upload any I take on the respective day but it really depends how shattered/lazy I'm feeling. XD Hopefully, they should not be too long.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by supplies Zander but I think everything is in order. Waiting on leaflets a little. I picked up the prizes today. Joyful_3

Regarding prizes, do people have a preference to how they're split? As in do people think that Pisces should definitely be one of the 1st prizes or do you want it to be completely random? And do we want to use all thirteen on the Saturday or save a few for the Sunday? Or even open a few of the rubbish ones (I haven't worked out what they are yet, not sure if I will at all but there's bound to be a Bull in there somewhere XD) so that they can be lent out?
I think it should be at random in all honesty.
People shouldn't be playing to win a pieces, they should be playing for the love of playing, and then if they do win, fate chooses what they get.
So yeah, just save three unopened boosters for the prizes for the Saturday, open a few to be lent out.
That way, the blades from the previous day can still be used by anyone who needs them on the Sunday.
But it depends on whether or not there's a tournament on the Sunday I guess.
