We're going to cut registration off around 1:15, the weather is nice inside the library.

We've got 8, we're doing this!
I'm almost an hour away and now you want to say that the registration period is 30 minutes after the original yeah thanks a lot!
This isn't how you organize an event.
Had fun today, this format is really interesting. Lots of G3 usage, but surprisingly little tS4, S3r, or B3, tho the times those 3 were used were mostly quite successful.

I think perhaps you are misinterpreting things. The registration was supposed to end at 12:45 p.m., and tournament start at 1, but we left it open for a couple extra minutes because people were still filtering in because of rain delays and traffic. We even added somebody and during the first round of round robin, because they encountered really heinous traffic, and somehow we were able to make it work anyway. We try to accommodate as many people as we can with this. If you elected not to go because of rain concerns, which you did, we are not responsible for that. We really struggled to make this event happen, and fortunately we were able to. The local library was very accommodating and very polite and nice and great and wonderful and they're even interested in having more events for Beyblade here. Which is awesome. But it might not have gone that way. We could have been rained out.

This reaction you've had here? It's not ideal.

So the real MVP of today is Dolly Madison public library. Because they let us hold the event completely unscheduled in their meeting room. That was great, because of the rain. But in a very real sense the MVPs were friedpasta who won, supernova85, who came in second place, and Cheetoblader and !Zane! who came in third and fourth. The finals were difficult because challonge decided to die. We're going to recreate those results in a new challonge later. Sorry about the missing bracket, I will recreate it later.

I'll type up a more in depth tournament report later tonight
Sounds fun! Would have really liked to Ben there… but I was busy.

After seeing all the things that was done for this tourney to work out in the end, I don’t appreciate this comment.

First off, I was watching the weather all week, it seemed fine until today at 10am, right before the tourney. We were going to try to find a place to play or just cancel it, but then Crab asked for us to use the meeting/game room and the Dolley Madison Library staff graciously let us use the room. We extended the registration time by 15 minutes for those who did not see the posts immediately and in hopes of getting enough people. We ended up with 9 people and ran from 1:20 to 3:20.

Hosting is a bit harder than it seems, but it seems you know exactly how it works. Care to give it a try?

Anyways, today’s tournament was quite fun, and it was interesting seeing all the combinations. I’ll try to type up a tournament report for this but the top 3 was:

1st Place - Friedpasta
2nd Place - supernova85
3rd Place - CheetoBlader

I’m currently collecting winning combos although I do remember most of them.

Thanks for coming out today everyone, hoping to host here again.
Fine I apologize but I would like to state that I do not live close to the area and that this entire back and forth situation without a plan B for if it rains does not work for my schedule so I would really appreciate it if next time there is actually a plan for if it does rain rather then have to constantly check the conversation for what you the organizers change at the last minute.
