Hasbro Beyblade Burst - Upcoming Release & Rumor Thread
A lot of features are missing from the app, maybe they are still working on them. I still have it.
Almost 5000 C rn XD
Also, should we open up a thread JUST for the app? Regarding customization, updates etc

Evrything is here, all the names... And "Anubion" fir the "A", so we'll have Anubis, "Ifritor" for "F", so Ifrit, and "Phantazeus" for "P" and I don't know what it can be ^^'
Maybe "Phantasm."
Seems likely that someone from Hasbro will be reading this thread. Hope they recognize the negative reception to these changes. Whether or not they had to change some of the names, the end result they came to is just amateurish.
Well, they might not care much for our reception since they know that we were aware of the original names. However, we would have to conduct a 'Kids react to' sort of video and I am certain that kids would also find those names cringe-worthy.

I feel like a lot of them wouldn't care.
They could have oddly unexpected as many people to install it as quickly as we had -- perhaps there is things on the app that were not ready to be shown yet or something. If it's just 'fixing' it it'd just be in an update. Removing the app all-together is a little weird. Hmm. Glad I still have it. Not the most in depth version it likely will be, but fun while on the toilet and such

It's totally normal that they would remove the app if it wasn't supposed to launch. Keep in mind that Beyblade.com and all of the official Beyblade accounts on the web haven't been updated to feature Burst, so it makes sense to think that this was premature. Didn't the app also have a strange name like "Bey Blades"? Unfortunately I didn't get to download it.
I feel bad for you

Yes, it was 'Bey Blades Burst'. It definitely may have been released as a simple test and we happened to find it while they were testing it for a public use or something. Whichever the reason, the amount of username selection was very little (Choose an adjective and then choose a noun with a total of maybe 30-40 unique names) so I'd expect many people would clash names until we'd get our own personal sign on name. I wonder if they'll remove anyone's progress made who does have the app now. I hope not, haha. Only the player versus random CPU exists anyways.

I don't. While the app had a nice design and concept, I really don't think anyone is missing out by not being able to play it for a while. I spent an hour with the game while writing out the notes here for you guys and, unfortunately, it reminds me a lot of BeybladeBattles.com from the MFB days, and it's not something I'd specifically think "Hey, I want to play that" either. Fun to "try", not so much to play, but people will have different opinions I suppose, haha.
Plus, the game ate my phone's battery like no tomorrow. I get that it was definitely unfinished (which was evident both in the code and in the game itself), but that seemed like a nuisance even for testing...
this is all good and bad but were r the god damn bey pics
ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

your annoying me they have been trying their best with all this news you haven't been doing anything but whining about how they are no pics yet cut them some slack.
So I'm reading through the trademark status' from these sites and most of the beyblade names look like they're just waiting to be opposed but the actual Beyblade Burst trademark doesn't look fully registered. One site said it's under review and another says it has it's first extension for what I assume is an Intent-to-use extension. Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't this put them in a position where they probably wouldn't put a product to market because they don't have the trademark locked in? I'm not entirely sure about the whole process but that seems like something that would push back a release.

I thought the game was decent, the gameplay I thought was pretty good for a kids game. I spent around 30 mins on it before I got a little bored of playing. I handed it to my 11 year cousin, and he hasn't wanted to put it down. I think its engaging enough to children under 12, which is there target demo.

Anyways... has anyone seen the illustrations for the motifs of the Beyblades in the Beyblade Burst app? Honestly, they look really ugly IMO and have poor looking animation but that's just me.

I think they look decent, not bad or good. I didn't really expect anything better.
I feel like a dummy trying to pronounce these names haha. They kind of sound like names for dinosaurs if dinosaurs were robots.

Yeah, that's what I neglected to mention really; I don't expect it to appeal to myself, or many people here either. The target demographic are boys aged 8-14. Given I'm above that, it really doesn't appeal to me as much as it would to someone younger, haha.
Great that your cousin enjoyed it though, that's a positive sign! Anything specific that kept him playing, or just because it's a fun game to him?
After spending a good couple hours on the Burst app, I'd say it's pretty fun. It's a huge improvement over Beybladebattles.com, and grinding levels on my Kerbeus combo didn't feel monotonous at all. If you haven't gotten it yet, I'd recommend getting it when it's available again.
Also, I went Beyhunting at my Target and Walmart, and while Target was a bust, the toy isle guy at Walmart said they had sold out of burst. Shocking, right? :P
I'm going to be going back tomorrow, since they said that's when they're restocking. I'll post pics of they actually have Burst.
(edit: lol I didn't know how to do bold :P)

I understand why Hasbro might want to trademark the names of the Beyblades, but I do wonder: why would that be a concern for Hasbro and not for TAKARA-TOMY? I'm not that familiar with how trademarks work in each country. Did TT trademark their names for Japan only or something?

Was there any chance he might've been confused with some older series? Also if they really did have them did you look at the price tags to see if they actually had them there or the prices of the tops?

I told them about the nature of it only having been out for like a week, but they said that it was beyblade was popular in the area so maybe all the coverage on Zankye, Illinuc, etc. made kids hyper aware of it being there lol. I made sure to specify that it was burst too. Plus, they haven't carried Shogun Steel or Legends for a long time now. Honestly I'll just have to take their word for it, but at the same time it seems fishy now that you mention it.
(edit: just figured I'd specify kids. I really need to proofread my post more :P)

carp. Time to close the channel boys XD
Jk, Glad i'm helping Beyblade be more popular.
"Beyblade is popular in the area"? Seems pretty unlikely considering it hasn't been active for years.
