First & Final Stage Battle Formats
The First Stage of this tournament will be played using the WBBA 3on3 Battle Format as described below.

The Final Stage will be played using WBO Deck Format.

WBBA 3on3 Battle Format Rules Wrote:

WBBA 3on3 Battle Format Rules
This tournament will be played using an experimental non-WBO ruleset for the matches played: WBBA’s 3on3 Battle Format. This format is used by TAKARA-TOMY for some of their events in Asia. The rules are as follows:

1. Matches are to 3 points
Outspin = 1 Point
Knock Out = 1 Point
Burst = 2 Points

2. Deck Construction: 3 Beyblades
Each player constructs a deck consisting of 3 Beyblades. No parts may be repeated throughout each combination. The same rules from WBO’s Deck Format for repeating parts will apply (see the WBO Burst Format rulebook).

3. Inspection & Deck Sequencing
After inspection by the judge, each player will secretly place each of their combinations into one of the three numbered slots in their deck box (pictured above).

We will have these available to borrow at the event, but please bring your own if you have one.

4. Perform Battles in Sequence
Players perform battles following the sequence of the Beyblades in their deck box until one player scores 3 total points. This means for example that the Beyblades in the #1 slot will play each other, followed by #2 vs #2, and #3 vs. #3.

5. Ties
  • If there is a tie at any point, the match will be replayed using the same two Beyblades. This may continue for up to three consecutive rounds.
  • If after the third consecutive tie a winner cannot be determined, players are to advance to the next Beyblade in their deck or initiate the re-order sequence described below and start a new round.
  • If neither player has earned 3 Points after all three match-ups have been played between all three Beyblades in each deck, players will re-order their entire deck in secret and then repeat step number four ("Perform Battles in Sequence") until one player has earned 3 Points to determine the match winner.

Note: All other existing WBO Burst Format rules unrelated to the match ruleset outlined above will apply for this event.

Awesome finally it’s been a long time

also I will be attending both tournaments with my dad
Quick note that I just added a tweak to the rules for ties in the WBBA 3on3 Battle Format in the opening post that's a bit different from the last time we played the format:

WBBA 3on3 Battle Format Rules Wrote:5.

Basically, if there's three consecutive ties during any round of a match both players will advance to the next Beyblade in their deck.
What's up y'all? Good to be back!

Sounds good! Especially with all the LAD drivers at play in the current meta.

Sheeeeesh a tournament in Canada nice! I wish I could travel from Florida to Canada but sucks that I can't but I hope all of you guys good luck!
This is what I have been expecting to happen.
A couple of questions ; #1 unlike WBBA, both players inspect each other's like WBC deck format? #2 unlike WBBA, no spin direction change allowed? or restrictions on the number of dual spin layers?
I really like that 3 ties, then move-on rule. I hate "min 10 min "opposite spin drift battle.

#1, Well, we can’t really do that since their a strict rule upon not touching other blader’s parts. #2, yes, no spin directions mid match are allowed, In the 3on3 tournament we are doing on the same day, 1 dual spin bey is permitted

3. Inspection & Deck Sequencing
After inspection, each combination will be placed into one of the three numbered slots in a deck box (pictured above).

I mean, are both players gonna know what the opponents have before starting like WBO deck format? or inspected only by judge like WBBA?
That's what I am curious by that part "After inspection".
In 3V3 or 5G, spin direction change isn’t so bad when it is limited to one. That is also a feature of these WBBA deck formats. Where you place your spin changers is plenty strategic. I think direction change is worth considering for WBBA deck formats in the WBO. It does make me sad sometimes that we cannot use the best gimmick in the game at all in Burst.

1. Sorry, by that I meant after the judge has inspected each player's Beyblades. Players do not see the opponent's deck beforehand like they do in WBO Deck Format. I updated the description to say:

"After inspection by the judge, each player will secretly place each of their combinations into one of the three numbered slots in their deck box (pictured above)."

2. Spin direction changes are not permitted, as per WBO rules. No restrictions on dual-spin Layers.

Having witnessed this in Japan and playing it myself, I agree that it isn't so bad. I'd be willing to try it at this tournament, but I wonder if it's one change too many; the main point here is to use WBO rules except with a different battle format.

If we allowed spin direction changes (and limited dual-spin Layers) for this and then not in the finals for WBO Deck Format, that'd be a bit weird. I'm not sure it's something we would want for WBO Deck Format in Burst Format (although, might be OK if it was limited to once per match like the Gravity Metal Wheel in Metal Fight Limited Format). Open to more thoughts on this.
I tend to agree spin direction change might be one tho too many. Its something that can be looked at separately. Either way, I am very excited to see how this goes.

Hey everyone, can I please get your confirmation here in this thread whether you will be attending by yourself or with someone else (parent/guardian/friend/etc)? Confirming this is a requirement mentioned in the event description and I may need to remove you if you cannot confirm.

Due to Ontario's COVID-19 regulations we will need to make sure there is 25 or less total people at this event, so I'd like to know ahead of time how many people will be there.

There is also a few other people who may want to join this event, so if I can confirm we will have less than 25 people there with the current participant list I may be able to add one or two more spots.

Thank you!

You bet! I'm sure we'll do another on later in July as well, but it's not decided for sure yet.
I will be attending both tournaments with my father, however, If necessary he has agreed to wait in the car or a comfortable distance away from the tournament.

Thank you. I appreciate the re-assurance, as I was worried there might be a Covid plot twist and there wont be tournaments for the next few months haha.

I mean ... I can't predict the future entirely haha. But things are looking relatively good right now in terms of our COVID-19 numbers, so I would imagine that we will continue with Phase 2 of the government's reopening plan at the very least for the time being, which allows us to have outdoor gatherings of up to 25 people.
