WOW, that was putting words in my mouth a bit wasn't it?

i never said it was because of that, i've never run top tier decks lol.
LOL yeah I guess it was, sorry, just the tone of your post made it seem like that's what you were implying.

Anyway, speaking of, I'm not going to be playing competitively myself anymore. Here's why: http://tinyurl.com/4q3gxpm

Well I hope you get those issues sorted out and get back on your feet as soon as you can! So I've decided that I'm going to try to go to my local card shop every Saturday and practice there to get better and check how I do personally to how I did when I first started going there (about 2 years ago).

lol, no problem.

to be honest, the reason is that i've been playing competative yugioh here in the UK for around 3 years now, and after all this time i've stopped enjoying just playing the game lmao.

i get so worked up about winning/not winning at tournaments that i started to resent the game. So i'm going back to just friendly dueling to try and get back that enjoyment of simply playing.

plus it's so expensive lol. But despite all the variation in the game now, i'm finding the same deck types popping up ALL the time, all i ever seem to play is Blackwings, Machina, Quick draw synchron, the occasional left over lightsworns lol. There's more variation, i just wish some people would USE it hahaha.

the whole reason i joined the WBO was to give me a new hobby instead of yugioh lmao.
Heh. I run an unusual Beast deck, so not everyone runs great and proven decks. Man, it turns out my deck doesn't do very well against BatteryMan cards.

really now?

why doesn't it do too good?
Industrial Strength. I keep trying to keep Spells, so I can use Spell Striker and Card Breaker for easy tribute fodder, and it works well until my friend gets out 3 AAs, and has a crapload of Batterymen in his graveyard! Though it does help that I added a second Beast Rising. I actually won after that. But only by 50 LP.

Get 3 while you can! Trust me its a good purchase.

So many people at locals had horus lv6 & 8 which I need quite badly for my new disaster build but for the life of me nobody was trading them I only managed to score two vice dragon on the day. My trade folder can't be that bad considering I have the core of most of the current top tier stuff in it, feels bad man.

I hope I can get some sort of consultation for purchasing here. My bro wants to build X-Sabers, and he wants to know the least expensive way to do so, other than buying singles. He was wondering if getting the 2008, 2009, 2010 Starter Decks would help in building an X-Saber Deck.

Thank you!
Sorry bro, your best bet is just to buy singles, and it's not going to be cheap any way you slice it.

Emmersblade is still going for $40-50 a piece, and I think Darksoul is still in the $15 neighborhood as well -- considering you're going to need three of each, that's already around $200.
Just get the singles; the structure decks don't have the main sabers used such as: Fullhelm,Faultroll, etc.
If he really likes opening packs, the X-saber powerup is not bad, as you get a garunteed super Fullhelm.

And, if he's looking for a cheap way to make it, get the lowest rarity of every card in the deck possible, and substitute Emmersblade for Giant Rats.
That Wont help too much. X-Sabers are one of the Most Expensive Decks yet ( besides infernitys before new bannned list) you need at least 2 emmersblade some run 3. and add upp all those other 10-25 dollar cards ( gaurdstrike saber slash saber hole faultroll Etc.)
The deck is definitely playable with subbed Giant Rats, but I really wouldn't recommend it, especially now that Rescue Cat is banned.

It might be in your best and cheapest interests to check eBay for a full deck. The deck has sort of fallen out of competition lately and a lot of people are selling theirs, so you might be able to find a good deal there.

This is true. when i finished my perfect infernity deck with 3 barriers and full set synchros ban list came up in less than a month. ended up selling it for 200 2weeks before the banned list. spent it on beys Eee
Hm so I'm pretty excited now. Regionals for 2011 are coming to Philadelphia in March. Guess I should start prepping now. Here's a link to them if anyone wants to see where else they will be: http://www.yugioh-card.com/en/events/reg...tions.html
I'm thinking of building a Deck around one or two of the following Structure Decks, just to play around with for a bit: SD3: Blaze of Destruction, SD4: Fury from the Deep (Maybe), and SD7: Invincible Fortress. Which two should I purchase? Even though it's not the best idea to build from Structure Deck, I just wanted to have a Deck for fun.

I'm really digging the Fire Monsters, but the Invincible Fortress seems tempting as well.
So my friend Joe just got me back into Yu-Gi-Oh! after I spent the night last night. My deck is generations old (about 2-3 since I last touched it), consisting of mainly the original Elemental Heroes + Fusions. He helped me spruce up my deck with some of his cards, but it's still not that great. I know how to use Synchros now, but I don't really know how to use them in combos (like I know ANY combos).

He told me to buy this set that's being sold at my local exchange, which consists of a Junk Warrior Starter Deck, two packs (GX Season) and six separate cards (I have no clue which season these are from).
Hopefully I won't spend a ton on this too Pinching_eyes_2
momo: SD3 and SD4. I was disappointed by SD7, but if you like Machine Cards.... Still, I'd personally go for SD3/4.
Just curious, does anyone use KCVDS here?
I've messed around with it before, but as it doesn't support Mac I don't use it much, since that requires switching computers. lol

I wish it was more automated. I hate having to do pretty much everything myself while playing. Playing any form of a mill deck in that game is beyond irritating.
I can see why though. That way, all they need to do to update the card database is put up a new image, hahaha.

Depends on what you consider a ton. 30$ for 3 Machina Mayhem is kinda cheap, plus you get to make a pretty good deck. X-Sabers are expensive, though.

Oki, I'd recommend you get 3 Machina Mayhem Decks and merge them together, based on the Deck builds you see online. Machinas are inexpensive, and competitive. You may need a Structure Deck Marik for Mirror Force, and two Zombie World Decks for Bottomless, but try and get those as singles if possible. Also get Mystical Space Typhoon, and keep two in your Deck.

Another option is the Gravekeeper's Archetype. A lot of the main cards are found in the the Marik Deck, but you'll need to get Absolute Powerforce to get GK's Stele. Other cards you need are Royal Tribute and Rite of Spirit, which you should get as singles if possible.

The final, "inexpensive" Deck is Blackwings. You can get all the necessary Monsters except for Vayu in the Gold Series 3 Set, and you can also get Icarus Attack and Black Whirlwind in this Set. Support such as Allure of Darkness can be found in the Marik Deck, but again, singles are the best way to go.

2 Zombie World SDs just for Bottomless? I'd reccomend a Retro Pack 2 more for getting Bottomless / buying singles online.
