Variares Personal Review (Opinionated!)

PRINTED Facebolt: Ares

This is a heavily opinionated start, but it's something that both rubs me wrong and gives me a tempting itch. But Variares' (I just call it Ares, the Vari feels out of place) doesn't really look good at all. It's supposed to imply an ancient glyph obviously symbolizing Ares, the god of war. In Hasbro's case, a relatively poor print due to the fact that this Beyblade didn't have a printed face (either at the time, or not at all).

Besides my rather trivial opinion of Variares' being in the category of 4D system besides Delta Drive and plastic pieces, Hasbro's rendition just shines it much brighter. Just as Kai-V/everyone else says, none of Hasbros Metal Fury has anything to do with 4D. I think it's rather unfair to call it part of the Hybrid Wheel System as much as it's an accidental Metal System 4-Layer top. Both weight and presentation is very comparable to fakes, mediocre Horoscope Series' releases. Which inspired me to call Hasbro VariAres just "Ares". In an early pre-release image shown VariAres with a red plastic frame, IMO would be considerate to younger children who cannot easily distinguish American from Japan/Hong Kong releases. There's about maybe 30% or 40% less metal inside Ares' (VariAres) metal portion, which does affect the design patterns, slightly grainier/thinner than Takara's. In other words vaguely uglier.

Track and Tip: 145WB

Probably the most mundane choice. But fits considering no 4-Layer Metal System (lol) Beys were released with 145WB.

I'd call it Ares too, it doesn't Vari in any way :p.

The only thing "vari" about it is the fact that its vari lame...get it? HAHA...ha...ha? Ok that was really bad sorry. That was a pretty good review by the way.

TK Max gets american and european products at discount prices so they're a good place to check. There's no consistency in their stock but when they do get beys in, they're £5 rather than up to 9 elsewhere.
Asda, being owned by Walmart, might also get american stuff but it seems unlikely since they're generally slow to restock with newer beys.

Other than that, the trick I've found is to ask Argos staff if they "have anything from the metal fury line" when you take your ticket to the desk. They will have no idea what you're talking about and will be so confused by your explanation that they put the product through on view and you get to see their entire collection.
If, however, the stock check says they have several beys but they only display one, go do some other shopping and return in about half an hour and they'll show you more. It speeds things up a little if you memorise the stock code (388 3420) aswell.
The only problem is staff start recognising you. It doesn't make the method any less effective, it's just kinda awkward...

EDIT: Oh, and would you mind asking if they know where to get Nerf stuff cheap (I'm specifically after something clip system or any low cost way of getting the starwars darts)?

Well I'm visiting the UK right now to visit Kyle, since I'm here for only 2-weeks as I don't live here I might as well see if they have much Metal Fury, and btw going to the UK is pretty cool

Divine Crown seems cool, especially as it has a more more unique track than the rest of Metal Fury.

@ Dracogameat: Don't forget, Draco, that Spiral Fox, as well as Divine Chimera before it had the TR145 Track, as well.

I recently picked up that Gold Variares with the two dome spintracks, and for anyone who cares, the bronze track is U61 (uppercut) and the black/gunmetal grey track is called D62 (deflector). The numbers on both of them are absurd, since they are tall as (or taller than) a 145 track. They have a bottom part shaped like BD145's core so they don't scrape in normal stadiums. And trust me, even when they scrape, if paired with the right wheel, they have some crazy LAD. Also, if anyone is still Unsure about if they are rubber or plastic, they ARE NOT rubber.
Kids who go to Hasbro tournaments are probably going to have a lot of trouble if they aren't using these with basalt if they are legal in those. These are both fun tracks to fool around with, as much of a danger to the metagame as they'd present.

Also, a random thought : perhaps everything 4D was purposely removed from the 4D Beyblades because Hasbro knows that kids would have really found them interesting, just so that they can give BeyWheelz a chance ...

Hm...interesting. Worked for me but i am still mad. And honestly, i wouldve bought beywheelz even if hasbro hadnt screwed up 4d.
