Yeah but that's not as satisfying as being able to look over at your shelf and admire all of those cartridges.
I will say, retro gaming is ridiculously expensive, and more so in recent years. Up until about middle school or so I had a retro game shop in my town that had pretty good prices, and I was in there most weekends. I grew up with a SNES, and later an N64, so of course I was always looking for something new. Anyway the guy had to close up shop when I was in middle school due to some shady stuff he was into. There's another retro game shop in my town now, only a few doors down from where the other place used to be and with comparable prices, but at the moment they just don't have anything I want.
I've been considering picking up a Super Famicom. The prices for games is just a tad cheaper since there is a lot of stuck and not as much demand for it in the west. Most of the games have quite a bit of English text, or just don't need text to be enjoyed. Hell, Super Metroid shares the same rom file in both North America and Japan, and I think Donkey Kong Country is only in English (I might be wrong on that last one, but the Japanese rom definitely has quite a bit of English)
