Gaming Random Thoughts

Anyone here play Planetside 2? It's a unique concept - it's an MMO FPS, and is pretty much the only one of its kind, as far as I know.

It's free-to-play, supported by in-game purchases, though there's no pay-to-win; the only items that can only be unlocked through purchases are either cosmetics or reskins of items obtainable through the in-game currency.

The learning curve is crazy steep, though - it's very different from your average shooter, because unlike most FPS games, where there are even teams in a small arena, with only maybe 6-18 players on each team, Planetside takes place across four continents, each 10km by 10km, and regularly involves battles with 100 players or more on each side, with no guarantee that the forces will be anywhere near equal. It's really cool being in such massive battles, but that also means that there are lots and lots of people out there that are shooting at you. You will die a lot to start out (I almost quit after only my first session) but as you unlock more gear and learn how to play better, it gets a lot easier and more fun.

Planetside 2 also recently set a new world record for the most players in one FPS battle, with 1,158 on the same continent on the competitive play server.

so yeah there's my sermon, join the church of shooty pew pew bang or whatever Tongue_out

Actually, Destiny also incorporates elements of MMO and FPS I think, however it doesn't do it that well as it doesn't focus as much on either.
I'm not a big fan of FPS, personnaly. I once tried Destiny and COD Ghost, and I hated it. Of course it's my own opinion, I don't ask anybody to agree.

I don't really play COD much it's an overrated copy and paste series.

FPS is fine, not my favourite but I liked Halo sometimes.

Apparently it's some kind of Banjo Kazooie/Donkey Kong re-hash. Still not worth the 1M...
Hum, someone in my family offered me :

- DS Lite + DSi, (charger and case include for both of thems),
- Pokemon Diamon, Kirby Superstar Ultra + 8 other uninteresting and worthless games.
- Super Mario Advance 2, Mario Kart Super Circuit, Mario VS Donkey Kong,

Everything used, but in really good condition, all this for 190$. The question is, should I buy it, or pay a little more for the 3DS ? (which I don't really like. I hate the size difference between the bottom screen and the top screen)

BTW, anybody here own an R4 flashcard ?

The DS Lite is interesting because of the dual slots (in case you want to play GBA games), and it has a very long battery life. DSi isn't really worth noting since it is pretty much a downgrade from the 3DS, with no GBA slot and less processing power, battery life, memory, and no 3D.

The "New" 3DS or whatever it's called is way better than the 3DS XL, with a lot of reworks to the button and interface layout, has much better 3D that doesn't require your head to be EXACTLY positioned to work, and is just better in every way. If the mismatched screens really annoy you, you could get an original 3DS, which is smaller (the size of the DS/Lite/DSi) and has equally sized screens.

The items you mentioned would be a really great holdover, and if you like Pokemon, I know Diamond is fairly expensive and hard to come by now, but without a 3DS you can't play any new games.
From all the reviews I've seen of the New 3DS, I have no desire to buy it whatsoever. Buying the newest generation is always the way to go. While the DS will tide you over for a while, at that price, it really isn't worth it. I sold my DS Lite with all my games and supplies to a family member for $150 and that was still way over the price it would normally go for (and this was about 5 years ago, while the DS was still hot). Ask him to bring it down to $100 and if he refuses, get a 3DS instead.
I managed to find a used DS Lite with GTA Chinatown Wars for 10$. It's just amazing.

I have the new 3DS black, not worth it. It just has colored buttons, danker 3D that nobody uses, and faster load times, which is a plus. And a C stick, better said by my friends as a (could i say n***le here?)
Random thought I guess;
But I think the MegaMan Battle Network games are some of the most innovative and fun action RPGs I have ever played.

This is the cheapest match i ever done. It was pretty close too. I didn't want to revive the pokemon thread though Uncertain
(skip to turn 27)
(This sorta relates to Fire Emblem: Awakening, but it's also relative to RPGs.) Anyone else hate when you have to recruit an enemy character with your weakest that if s/he gets killed, it's a game over? Also, spawn kills... I detest them so much.
I don't know if this counts,but...Does anyone know how to open th wifi of a PSP? .-.

I just want to play DBZ Shin Budokai:Another Road online (If any amers are still playing this)

I can't remember the last time I seen anyone play that game online.
My DS Lite is slowly turning into a powerfull portable retro gaming machine. Muhaha. Anyway, any suggestions of Sega Genesis games that I really should play ?

Defo Sonic 3 and Knuckles combined cartridge, asides from Sonic games, there's the X Men games and I think Ristars quite interesting.
Ristar ? Never heard about this game, looks quite interesting. I have a little to no knowledge about Sega, I've always been sticking to Atari/Nintendo, so, for my personnal gaming culture I need to try it.

Oh and Castlevania Bloodlines is quite good as well.

You could always pair up the mother/father/chrom with kellam or donnel and tank your way to the recruitable

In chapter 9, you have to recruit Tharja and Libra, and I got both in the same turn. So that's solved, lol. Now to reclaim Anna and Lucina and i'll be set.
Arkham Knight is so close I can already feel it. I've enjoyed all of the games of the Arkham franchise and Arkham Knight looks like it'll be another amazing addition. Honestly, it looks like it will be the best so far. This last month of waiting is gonna be brutal.
Since this is random thoughts, I just wanted to say that Crota from Destiny is probably the most annoying boss ever and I have never wanted to punch a three-eyed turtle more than now.

Mutant koopas in Destiny ? I need to see it of my own eyes.
