FAN EXPO BEYBLADE SUMMIT
Park behind MTCC South Building - Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Saturday, August 29th, 2009 - 1PM SHARP!!! (We won't wait for you)
MFB FORMAT

Since it seems like we have garnered a sufficient amount of interest for a tournament, we are turning this "meetup" into the FAN EXPO BEYBLADE SUMMIT! This will be an official WBO tournament, but sadly, there will be no prizes this time around; but you can still compete for Beypoints and Faces! Also, make sure you have your Blader Passport or bring $5!

No specific location within the park has been determined, but I do not think it should be too hard to find one another. If you think you're going to have any trouble, PM Khel for his cell number as the event date draws near.

If it is raining, we will meet up at the main entrance of the South Building.

We hope to see you there. Smile

Confirmed Attendees:
Kei
Khel
Minion
D-Trix

ORIGINAL POST:
Well taking over from the old topic (Sorry Gadget) we are seeing if there is interest in hosting a meetup at Fan Expo 2009 in Toronto. More info on the event can be found here

Now I have never been to this convention, so I am hoping that someone who has experience there would be able to give advice as to how to pursue this and where we should set up.

Like I mentioned this would really just be a meet-up. So anyone bring whatever beyblades you have (Legal of course) and we just play. I mean we did spend money to get this things so why wouldn't we want to play against actual people?

So opinions anyone?

Need-to-Know Information

1. During Registration, Open Your Account Page

Open your account page on your mobile device (if possible) during registration to help us keep things quick.

2. Arrive On Time

You must arrive by the tournament start time to enter. We cannot add new players to an event once it begins. If you're running late, contact the host.

3. Stay Aware of Your Belongings

We do everything possible to ensure a safe environment, but can't be held responsible for lost or stolen goods. Keep your gear close by!

4. The Tournament Will Last At Least a Few Hours

This event is likely to last at least a few hours. If you can't commit to the entire tournament, you're welcome to come watch and play for fun instead!

5. Listen For Your Username To Be Called

Your name will be called when it's time for your next battle. If you need to leave early or take a break, tell a judge. Missing a match could mean disqualification!

6. Players Must Meet Regional Product Age Restrictions

All players in this event must meet the age restrictions on Beyblade products in their region. TAKARA-TOMY recommends Beyblade for ages 6+. Hasbro recommends Beyblade for ages 8+. Players under these ages may only participate with the permission of their parent/guardian.

7. Players Under 18 Must Be Accompanied by a Parent/Guardian

If you are under 18 years old, a parent/guardian must accompany you and be present for the duration of the event.

8. Contests, Raffles, Gambling, Betting, and Selling Are Prohibited

Advertising the sale of any product or service, as well as posting about any contest, raffle, gambling, or betting on this event page and conducting them at the event without approval by Fighting Spirits Inc. staff is prohibited. Please contact the Organized Play team if you require approval.

Same. I'll be there on Saturday regardless. But I wouldn't mind doing something at his house some other time.

Edit: @D-trix: Awesome.
sony323 also PMed my back about this asking about the details (which there isn't much of right now lol), I told him to post here if he's still interested.

Khel, Blue, and I are still talking things over about when to schedule the next tournament. Both of them are quite busy right now, so things are on hold for a bit.

It's possible we could have it on the 6th; but no guarantees right now.

Pacific Mall isn't that great. It's bootleg central there haha

Yeah, we'll see. We'd have to get everything organized very soon if we decide to set it up for that date.

Anyways, lets try to keep this on topic now for the FanExpo meetup.

exactly, bootleg central xD

if you guys are still letting more people come, im gonna try to come, if my dad isnt busy that day, if i come, is it ok if i bring freinds who wanna play too?

EDIT: nvm, i might not go, unless i can make some more money before then. i wont have enough to buy a ticket, cuz im buying a bunch of MFB stuff, but if there is a next meet up sometime, i will try to go.
Hey man thats perfect, the more the merrier [i think thats how you spell it Confused]
And since its a meet-up, i dont think there is an entrance fee right??
I could also bring some of my beyblades, like 2 extra, but with 2 launchers and my 2 stadiums, so i could supply you guys with 2 attack stadiums.
Yeah, im also gonna be selling BB-22, Attack Stadium, and a Pegasis 105F [no launcher] there. Any questions, PM me.
if there is no entrance fee, then i will be sure to try to make it, although im gonna get my dad or one of my freinds parents to drive us, cuz i am NOT taking the bus, i hate taking the bus.

and , for the meetup, do you need to have MFB ?
Well, if you wanna free and ranked battle yes xP
Khel and Kei will have Spares that you can use. So dont worry.
Also, they might be selling some random boosters there too like last tourney

Please, come! Bring your friends! We need as many people as we can get.

We were going to meet inside the convention, but if enough of you don't want to buy a basic FanExpo pass, I'm sure we'd be able to find somewhere close by that is outside the convention.

You don't need to have MFB, some people will probably bring their plastics/HMS. If we end up having 8+ people, we'll make the meetup an official tournament; in which case there would be an entrance fee if you have not purchased a Blader Passport.

kool-kid9980 Wrote:Also, they might be selling some random boosters there too like last tourney

I had extra RBLV2 for sale at HPT, but I won't have anything this time. At our next tournament though, we'll import some MFB for those who don't have any.
How many people do we have now??

BOOYAH!!!!
This is gonna be sick!!!
Once i know the time, then i would know if i have to skip karate or not.
Actually, I really want to come to this. I could maybe bus down [or not] but in all honesty I wouldn't be able to afford the con fee. I'll look into it more. My libra is telling me to annihilate a certain kool-kid...
<.<

Me?? NEVER!!
So are we going for the saturday?
