Hunter-S features a flat rubber tip with a circular depression in the center, akin to [[Hunter]], that sits at a standard height in Battle ring mode and at an above-average height in Slingshock mode.
For competetive play, Battle ring mode is the more successful of the two modes.
Having a wider diameter than [[Hunter]] and even [[Xtreme]], Hunter-S creates a very aggressive, hard to control movement pattern. In terms of speed, Hunter-S is faster than [[Hunter]], having harder rubber and offering a bigger contact area.
Like any rubber driver, Hunter-S has two major weaknesses. First, the high friction of the rubber means that Hunter-S has low stamina. Second, the friction means that more force is taken by the slopes in Hasbro Layers, increasing the chance of Self-Bursting.
Hunter-S has a third weakness: Its big diameter makes it head straight toward the tornado ridge. In this concern it behaves like a typical Slingshock driver. When switched to Slingshock mode, only its height changes so that it no longer gets stuck in the rails.
Overall
Hunter-S features great tornado stalling potential, what is good for stamina type beyblades but bad for attack type beyblades. Compared to [[Hunter]] it offers more speed but less control.
For competetive play there is no need to choose Hunter-S over [[Hunter]].
As such, Hunter-S is recommended for collection purposes only.
