Location

We'll likely be playing outside, in the gazebo attached to the front of the High Park Nature Centre.

This means that if you're coming to High Park via the Bloor St W entrance, follow Colborne Lodge Dr. down until you'll see the large gazebo on the left-hand side. Check the red pin on the map image below if you're still unsure.

If we aren't in the gazebo out front or on the grass, check behind the Nature Centre as well, as there is another gazebo there.

If you have any questions about the location, time, or date, please feel free to post about it below.

Any updates to the venue location or rescheduling will be posted by me on the morning-of, at the latest. If you see nothing posted to the contrary, assume everything is continuing as outlined here.

NOTE: Public washrooms can be found just west of the Bloor St W entrance of High Park. There are no public washrooms available at the High Park Nature Centre. Do not knock on their door asking to enter. They don't like that.

Burst GT Experimental Format Info

The First Stage of this tournament will be played using the 1v1 Battle Format. The Final Stage will be played using WBO Deck Format.

Since this is an experimental and niche format, please review the V1.0 rules for the event here:

Compared to Burst Standard, this is what you'll have to know to not bring and try to play with for Burst GT Format:

Banned Layers
  • All Super King/Sparking System Layers (Takara-Tomy). Except for the following: Glide, Curse, Super, King, Variant, Death, Abyss, First.
  • All Dynamite Battle System Layers (Takara-Tomy)
Banned Forge Discs
  • All Super King/Sparking and Dynamite Battle System Forge Discs (Takara-Tomy)
Banned Chassis
  • All Super King/Sparking System Double Chassis.
Anything from before the Super King/Sparking era is eligible for you to use without restriction.

Generally it is GT or Earlier, plus a couple of SuperKing beys. The list of what is banned/legal is in the rulebook linked in the tournament post, for clarity, but your understanding is broadly accurate. Good luck to you and your child! Smile

Hello Jayshawn's parent. I believe we spoke briefly at the last event?

Yes, for this event we are only using GT-era Burst Beyblades. What this means is that a majority of later releases (Superking onwards, so product code B-159 and later) are not allowed here.

Of the Superking-era stuff, these few SK Rings are actually allowed (with any SK chip and single Chassis only):

Glide, Curse, Super, King, Variant, Death, Abyss, First.

So make sure that the layers he brings are from the GT format, and if he wants to bring SK-era stuff, it can only be the above Rings with no Double Chassis. Forge Discs from Takara-Tomy produced from B-159 onwards are also not allowed. Hasbro variations of such Forge Discs are allowed, though. They tend to be much lighter. Drivers from any era are allowed.

Believe me, I didn't want this to be so convoluted, but as it stands this is the way the format is to be played. So a few weird things from later installments are still allowed here even though it is a "GT" format.

Hopefully this helped supplement the information in the original post for you.
Question? Will there be beyblades to buy at this tournament
Hey Dan, maybe it would be better to put 1:30PM as the start time on the tournament form? You have that in your description, but I would bet some people don't read that and just look at 2PM ... but we should be starting at 2PM, so if you show up then you'll be late.

There will not be any, to my knowledge. Any vendors will have to be approved by staff.

Good point, better safe than sorry. Changed it.

Yea, the likelihood Beyblades will be able to be bought here are slim to none, nobody has reached out about it.
Here are the Challonge links for anyone curious, they will be active on the day of the event as usual.
